@Game_n_Watch_it_pal a game that milks out a main-line game/IP for quick money. Some examples include spinoffs from Pokemon, CoD, or Persona 5 . It doesn't mean its a bad thing all the time, its just used as a marketing grab to hold consumer attention until a main game, so not to lose that buyer's interest later. This is to solidfy the in-between purchases before a larger game using money from the side game which can be a good thing.

They are testing to see if we want 2 kinds of Splatoon games instead of 1, for example if Splatoon 4 and Splatoon Raiders 2 come out, will we buy that spinoff again?
