The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD will be releasing in less than two months now, though what changes it will be making to the original are still mostly a mystery to us. Considering how The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD tweaked and adjusted various aspects of gameplay to bring it more in line with modern gameplay standards, hopefully this remake will similarly make changes to the original Twilight Princess. It was just revealed earlier today that the tedious Tears of Light quests may be made slightly easier this time around, and now it appears that another convenient adjustment has been made.
A screenshot recently revealed by Famitsu shows the rupee counter at 2000, as opposed to the max of 1000 in the original game. Whether the Giant Wallet has been upgraded this time around or whether there's an additional, even bigger, wallet remains unclear, but it certainly appears as though you'll have the potential to carry way more rupees than last time.
What do you think? Are you glad to see carrying capacity has been upped? What other changes would you like to see made to the game? Drop us a comment in the section below.

Nice I can't wait for the release of this game!
I love these low key changes so far, if they offer multiple control styles that would be a plus. i would love to be able to scan amiibos at shop for random discounts at in game shops.
@LetsGoChamp an excellent avatar
Wasn't Twilight Princess one of the games which really didn't give you much to do with Rupees, anyway? A bigger wallet just means you can spend double the time in the Magic Armor now.
No motion controls would be great!
@Sabrewing Yeah, I remember capping on money very frequently even when doing the donation quests as early as possible. It's like that in most games though, not much to spend money on.
Twilight Princess didn't have much to spend money on,so its a bit weird, but its still a good change
They seriously need new lighting effects, it looks rubbish by 2016 standards
That's nice, I kept having to leave chests unopened in dungeons and elsewhere because I had maxed out, which was deeply annoying, as I like to get everything there is to get. Hopefully that will solve the problem.
@LinkSword
argh!! that bugs me too. I love having my dungeon map completely finished, all rooms explored, all treasure chests opened.
btw, I love your pic. ( ^_^)
If it's a rumor, why does it show 2000 rupees in the pic? oO
@mikegamer Could be a dev screenshot I guess, but most likely it's in the game.
Make the Magic Armor upgradable so no more rupees are required.
@mikegamer Nothing's confirmed till we hear it straight from the horse's mouth, though I think it's pretty safe to say this is true.
I'm glad to see they're doing this, I feel like this Zelda game especially didn't know what to do with rupees, so you just kinda always had too many. That being said, I actually appreciated how you'd put a rupee back if you didn't have room. At least that way, you could come back for it if you wanted to, as opposed to other entries where it was just gone forever.
@Zach777 While this would make the Magic Armor SLIGHTLY less worthless, I don't think they could have it without eating rupees. Then you'd just be infinitely invicible and there would be no challenge in the final boss battle(s).
Obviously they're giving you a bigger wallet this time because of the ridiculous inflation rise that's happened in Hyrule in the past 10 years. Prices have been driven up due to money being found everywhere, the high destruction rate of ceramic, cuckoo meat being so dangerous to farm, and anxiety in a ruler who could turn into a pig monster at any time.
But how many bugs can you carry though....
Does anyone else notice that sword is on b button in this screenshot?
GameXplain posted a video on a translation of the French Amazon page for TPHD, which states that amiibo will help you by regenerating your health, refilling your arrows... I wouldn't be surprised if one amiibo gave you an additional wallet upgrade.
I hope that they fixed the message "you found x rupees" showing up again every play session. I'm also rooting for gamecube controler support.
I liked the original Tears of Light quests. They were challenging but I had to figure out my strategy and that was rewarding. The only time I still remember that I went nuts was the second cart race. That was almost impossible! Also, I gave up looking for those little ghosts (I don't remember their name, but I don't think they were simple poes) because there were no hints clarifying where to search.
So we don't have to use Wii motes right? We can use the Wii U Pro controller? or even the giant gamepad?
It would be better if they'd actually give you something to buy with all those rupees. In the original game you'd collect so many you never needed, and then when you found a treasure chest with more, you couldn't even open it and collect them, causing the chest to stay on your map, unopened. :/
The only use for all that cash was the magic armour, which was obsolete because you didn't get it until very late in the game and the game's easiness meant you never needed it in the first place...
Oh joy, because money was SO useful in that game.
@CB85 "It would be better if they'd actually give you something to buy with all those rupees."
I totally agree. I only bought the rupee armor so that I could put it on once in a while and wait for my money to deplete. I never actually used the armor for protection, the game was too easy to require it. Skyward Sword, I thought did it perfectly...and then Link Between World went right back to "too much money!"
I'm sure they'll add Hero Mode to this though, and hopefully that will fix a lot of the game's issues.
I mean it's possible they increased it in order to avoid hassles during debug and they plan to return it to the original later. But I guess why wouldn't they increase it to 9999 then.
Wow, this would allow for even more exploitation of the Magic Armor.
Not that I really used it much.
Maybe this is indicative of new in-game shops and/or items to purchase in them?
Also, I'd like to see how useful Magic Armor is in Hero Mode.
I was hoping they fix the automatic shielding and make it like WW/MM/OoT where you use your shield with the R button, but from what I saw in the magazine scan, it's still the same.
might make magic armor a bit more useful
If you put all these comments together it makes some sense!
Hero mode might make Magic Armor more worthwhile and having extra rupees would be more useful. Additionally, an amiibo giving you that bonus seems like a possibility as well. Also, the bug searches will probably keep the most interesting ones and still maintain some strategy for getting them.
It all adds up nicely, and sounds positive to me.
