Everyone loves a good survey, mainly because it gives us a chance to sound off and share opinions. Nintendo of America is now happy to oblige, opening itself up to the feedback of its fans via that bastion of considered opinion - social media.
In the tweet below this is pitched as an opportunity to provide feedback on Nintendo's social media channels, but the broader survey also asks about your gaming habits, which systems you own, how many games you download and more besides.
This writer bailed out when it asked for a list of games downloaded from the eShop; that's a question to tackle with much more spare time available.
Nevertheless, this survey does present an opportunity to share some feedback and information with Nintendo, so if you like clicking buttons and sharing details it may be worth a whirl.

The "If you're mean Bowser will get you" joke made me laugh SO much harder then it should have XD
Yeah, I don't even want to load the survey if it's asking for dl games. I mean really why do they need to know that. They can just check my account on the old club Nintendo or I'm sure they have many other ways. That part seems dumb.
GLADLY
We've got a company to get back on-track.
That survey was brutally long.
It would take me all day to type that list up. No thank you.
It asked me about memes. I am done.
That was about the stupidest survey I've ever seen. Didn't even finish it do to them wanting answers for all the different social media outlets. It took far longer then I'm willing to take as well.
The servery should just say "should Nintendo stop making 2nd rate video games?"
[_] Yes
[_] Yes
The question about favourite amiibo has got me! Probably gonna pick Shulk and just say 'I was really feeling it'
Lord, it's so long... I genuinely wanted to complete it, but it's just too long.
Sheesh that took a while
Wow can't finish the survey without telling them you want to see more memes -_-
I bailed after 10 minutes. They need a survey to know how long a survey should be.
That took longer than I thought. I didn't even know about the Play Nintendo channel.
Also I'm curious as to what they mean by "Show not necessarily related to gaming."
Really hoping for Kid Icarus Anime.
Finally! Quite interesting, but some questions were really unnecessary.
"Which Nintendo games have you downloaded?"
Oh my god... they want me to type a paragraph list?
I had to say I want memes... To me tjose got old after The Cranky Kong on twitter.
And I don't use half of those social medias.
At least I got to tell them I want Famicom tantei club in english.
Haha I told them I bought the NX because of social media.
What exactly is their definition of "a few minutes"...? Whatever it is, it's more than I have to spare.
Well, I took the time and wrote down all of my downloads, just hope there's someone actually reading them.
On another note THEY ASKED ABOUT LIVE ACTION VS. ANIMATED CONTENT! Made me so happy.
Crossed every single box for memes. Can't have enough.
Took a long time doing this. I didn't quite add all the games for my downloads though. Just put full retail downloaded games then said "And a bunch of virtual console/eshop only" xD
That survey was way long but hopefully it'll actually make a difference. Almost bailed when they forced me to choose a "favourite" amiibo. Definitely not interested in none of that!
Everytime they get to the point where they want to know my occupation or how much money i earn i just stop these.
I actully tried to give good feedback but that is something i will never tell them.
When they asked about downloaded games I just put "too many to list" and moved on
I listed the retail games I've downloaded and left it at that. The survey got pretty boring after that. A million questions about social media, which I don't care about. Also, questions about E3 expectations and our thoughts on amiibo.
Yeah I stopped at the part that asked me to list all downloaded games..
Whoever made this survey doesn't have a very good idea of what's happening in the gaming world.
DS instead of 3DS? Playstation instead of Playstation 3 or 4? They're going to get some inaccurate responses just because of that.
Where is competitive electronic gaming on the list of most watched video content? This is a gaming survey! They prioritized pranks, history, and real life games over that?
Please Nintendo, hire some actual gamers on your staff.
I love how "United States" and "North America" are separated.
A list of games I've downloaded from the eShop, eh?
Put some worthwhile downloadable games on the eShop like you do in Europe and Japan, and I'll get back to you, NoA.
@OneBagTravel If that one got exceedingly long then they'd need a survey for surveys about surveys. I like where this is going.
I really hope they read these. I think I gave good feedback on amiibo and e3. Not sure why they are worried about making more social media content when the should focus more on making better games.
@DarkKirby "(Please include Nintendo DS if you own anything from the Nintendo 3DS family of products.)" Probably the same with PlayStation and XBox, it's just looking for a broader category, not necessarily current-gen systems.
Finished it after half an hour (a few minutes, yeah right)...
Then I realised it's Nintendo of America and being European I had wasted my time.
Wow, that survey was long as all hell, and in the end it only left me with questionmarks flying around my head. Alot of... Ehm... Questionable questions.
My phone couldn't handle that drag and drop part so i didn't finish survey.
I didn't finish, goes on and on and on and then didn't accept my answers on the "what would you like to see on social media" checklist, says I need at least 14 answers, I have like 30. Screw it.
That was a beast of a survey. Definitely fatigued by the time those huge grids came along. I don't care how often you update each of these social media channels.
I probably don't have the time to do a half-hour long survey! I will, anyway, just so we can actually tell Nintendo what they're doing wrong. (And that's a lot in itself!)
Wow, that survey took forever. Ended up going on a rant about how terrible the last E3 was when asked about my expectations for this E3.
78 downloaded games (58 on 3DS, 20 on Wii U). Still, that was a great survey and I hope I was helpful! I didn't realize Nintendo was on so many social media platforms. I need to make more accounts!
I would prefer a check list of downloaded games. LOL.
Completed it. Yes, very long. Worth it to get y input out there to Nintendo. Hopefully the are listening. Don't flake on it ladies and gentlemen. Here they are asking for our input. Give it to them!
DL games and DLC content question, I just said, "refer to my Nintendo network ID _____________"
But yeah, the survey team that assembled this, they need some work! This could have been much less of a grind...
That's a long survey!!
They need to provide an alternative survey-
Click here for 5 minute survey!
Or...
Click here for extensive and very helpful input survey!
My system told me I can't load any more icons and that's just the Wii U, not even the 3DS. Just the list would take forever.
I'm not sure how reliable the results will be.
Yeah, I guess I'll fill it in. Why not? Reads that it's very long Well, something to keep me from my homework for a few extra minutes
(I'm joking, do your homework kids)
Well if they will give me some Club Nintendo points I will consider doing that.
@Yorumi I figured, but I didn't feel like reanswering it after I went back a page to find out what was wrong, then I was like ew idc. After it had gone on too long I wasn't gonna bother. Besides my opinion doesn't matter lol
That took like half an hour. Wow.
@Yorumi I had to say "yes" to that. Finding out if a game has an "easy mode" is big for me. White raccoon leaves and mellow mode (Yoshi's Wooly World) are all the rage with my young ones who are not up to the normal level of the game.
@Dankykong
Acthually, I've been very surprised to see that my suggestions have come to fruition. Back in the club Nintendo survey days, I would always mention how I felt my left over odd dollars on my Nintendo account seemed stagnant. Always had like a $2.37 some odd change on there after loading a $60.00 eShop card. I started suggesting like if they could put like small Nintendo exclusive content or something of that nature. I didn't suggest anything as directly as badge arcade but I did voice my slight annoyance for a perpetually locked away "loose change." Thank goodness now for just "add needed funds."
My download for Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth3 was 40 minutes when I started the survey, now it's 17 minutes remaining.
@MajinCubyan I just put up the first three that came to mind, then put up a ball-park figure of the others rather than listing all the names.
Got me through it a lot quicker.
@orravan85 Well maybe if you share a common want with many others it does. I can say it worked only once for me, I asked everytime for DK64 in the club nintendo surveys, now we have it on WiiU. But maybe our wishes were going to happen anyway? It seems like a grey zone, you can't really tell what they're doing with it because they never reveal what their intentions are. Everything they asked about though isn't anything I'm worried about. If they were asking me about which games they should make or what they should do besides how they're going to use social media or advertise toward me I'd care more. That's just me though
Holy cow, that took waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay longer than I anticipated. But what do you expect? "What Nintendo titles have you downloaded?"

@Yorumi I hear you. Agree with pretty much everything you said.
For a 3-4 year old playing a game like Mario 3D World along with his older sister, Mom and Dad, who doesn't quite have the coordination/reaction time to defeat enemies, but wants to contribute at his level - the white leaf is great. I prefer the way Mario handles it - gives you the leaf after so many fails AND it is still optional to use. Both of my kids got into Mario using the leaf as a crutch from time to time and now hardly ever get to the point where it is offered. Even with the leaf, my son would find creative ways to use most of the lives in the group.
Yoshi WW on the other hand makes you decide which mode you want and ALL players must be in that mode. It's better than nothing, though I would like different players to have different options.
My god, Nintendo is really bad when it comes to surveys, reminds me of those awful ones when registering games for club nintendo.
Well the less people take it, the more valuable my opinion is! Right?
@Mayoo North America is a continent. United States is a country.
@Mayoo North America is a continent. United States is a country.
You all warned me, but it still felt so long!
Here's what I said about amiibo:
"I enjoy how they let me get extra content in games for my favorite characters. I worry that they may block extensive content in some games and that it might be unmanagable after awhile.
I wonder if having inexpensive card versions of the figurine amiibo might help with the problem of extensive content being locked away (behind figurines I find aren't worth investing in for the statue part but only the game part)
I also long for them to have a unifying game where they can all comingle (like Disney Infinity and Skylanders do)"
@PVTAngrybird Thanks captain obvious. They are asking to choose between them. Why not just list continents or just a list of countries.
C'mon... Nintendo could easily look up your list of downloaded games by just giving them your NNID.
When I called them to get my digital purchases restored, the operator even said, "Wow, this is a lot! I don't think I've ever seen this many before!"
Apparently Nintendo is under the impression that most people have maybe bought 5 or 6... and they could be right.
Damn!!! That was the longest survey ever!
@smashbrolink Good call. I'll just list a few big titles and do that.
I started doing it, got far too, but then it got into some questions I really no answer to, and was taking forever, so I quit lol make several shorter surveys instead, Nintendo
Wow, that was a long survey! Managed to get through it though.
make a list of all games you have downloaded...
lol. yeah, ok. You're making this reaaaal easy NoA. How about you start giving us decent virtual console games? How about you start doing real sales!
also, I don't care about half the social media that was listed.
but I'm done with your survey. Hope you put it to good use. (^_^ )
Ugh. Didn't even list my favorite amiibos.
That was way, way, WAAAAAAAAAAAY too long. Jeez. Lots of unnecessary/filler questions too (I hardly knew what Play Nintendo is for example, but they still asked like five questions about it!) Should've read the comments before I started it apparently! I have school work to be doing...
Time to list 133 eshop/virtual console titles!
I personally wished Nintendo is more like the sonic twitter.
Gee, that only took AN HOUR. I hope Nintendo is happy and actually does something useful with this stuff because my dinner is cold.
By the way it asks you to list all the games you have downloaded twice, first just the Nintendo games, which I did, then just ALL of them and I was like, "Nope!" and I wrote a big long essay about why I couldn't feasibly do that that was still faster than listing every game I have downloaded.
My opinion matters! Right Nintendo? That's why we have Mother 3, Metroid Prime 4, and awesome New 3DS XL exclusives! Thank you so much
This ended up being more tiring to do than it should've been. I think Nintendo is only doing this survey to watch people suffer.
Bailed after maybe the fifth question. That survey is dumb. "Do you have children" as the second question with no follow-up as to why they're asking that. "What systems do you own, select DS if you own a 3DS". Seriously? They can add as many options as they want for answers and they include both Wii and Wii U, but not both DS and 3DS.
Once again, this shows Nintendo's clear disconnect with how the general public thinks and this is only about common sense!
Dang that was a long one. Hopefully they are looking at what people are saying for E3 and will adjust accordingly (we want NX news!!)
@DarkKirby It's easier to type nintendo DS family instead of Nintendo 2DS, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 3DS XL, Nintendo new 3DS and Nintendo 3DS XL
"Too many to list"
I did it, but I often found myself in the position of thinking (none of these answers apply to me). I felt trapped when it asked me what content I wanted to see on social media. I never want to see memes on a company's social media but it wouldn't let me continue! WHEN WILL THE MADNESS END?!!!
I finished it, but resorted to dumping on Twitch whenever it would force me to pick something. Sorry if you suddenly see an uptick in memes and photos on Nintendo's Twitch feed.
I was also a little amused by it asking my opinions on Play Nintendo, an advertising effort that is almost certainly not focused at my demographic (or anyone over the age of 8).
@acegibbo I wanted to pick yarn yoshi, but it wasn't even on the list
@Hitman1102 I listed a few I could remember, then said too many to remember and moved on. What were they seriously expecting when they designed that survey?
That survey was really long...
I eventually finished it. I listed 123 titles I've downloaded, and I still think I missed a few (like Metroid Prime Trilogy).
I made sure to tell them that I didn't want to see anything focused towards kids at this year's E3.
Hope you all did the same.
@Yorumi I said I was expecting a New 3DS exclusive F-Zero game.
A man can dream.
