This has got quite mixed reviews from amazing to mediocre, and I was considering just leaving it, but got it anyway... and... I've really enjoyed it so far.
The leaderboards are a bit wacky, but we'll see how that goes.
I was sort of intrigued by hearing some over the top earnest commentary, but I'm still not sure what level of DB JB is. That all said, I enjoyed the game on a couple of play throughs, and I seemed to remember the twist was quite progressive. I wasn't picking up any MRA vibes or anything...
@Boopero plus this has optional auto-complete rows, which is a nice QOL feature. I've got a bunch of the Jupiter games, and they're FINE and well made, but yes, sterile. I prefer the Mario's Picross on SNES Switch online and the gameboy ones (it's possible to play part 2 with a fan translation). The DS one had lots of Mario content too, I seem to remember.
Anyway, for this game on the Piczle Club discord, James and fellow nonogram buffs are already discussing bug fixes, etc. He's always been quick to fix things.
@JackieCMarlow Not ideal, no, but I will be going for this one first as the Piczle games are incredibly charming. Piczle Cross Adventure was a totally new twist on the genre and also worth bearing in mind that Score Studios tend to release demos with totally unique content. Personal Disclaimer, I do not work for Score Studios, but I am a fan.
@Member_the_game I got the free all day shipping option from Currys (as well as the 25% off) and it still arrived around 10:30 am (from my favourite courier) Great deal!
@NinjaNicky on iOS (and android?) it’s actually free with the least intrusive ad system you’ve ever seen. And if you buy the dlc ads can be switched off. It’s like the guy doesn’t want money. Which probably means he’ll earn even more.
I probably would have picked up my switch a bit more if vampire survivors was on it. But for me, the switch game of the year is ‘Tetris: The Grand Master’, so what do I know?
There were a bunch of games we could have played on the switch like Lego Star Wars or Disney Dreamlight Valley, but the Xbox Series X graphics and Gamepass were just an easier choice.
I definitely played some fighting games in the arcade, like the first double dragon. Can't honestly remember if I was playing educational video games on the PC/Apple IIgs before I got a NES or after. Mario/Duck Hunt was probably the first game I played on the NES but Tetris was the one that sucked us all in.
At other people's houses I remember playing a game where you stuck different cards in the joypad for each game. I think I worked out it was a Colecovision.
@YoshiF2 if your bank account is hacked for reasons beyond your control, you are covered. You cannot send money to Russia. If you lose your wallet your bank sends you a new bank card, or you use your id to get money out... come on.
@YoshiF2 or sending funds to hostile foreign powers. Or hacking them and stealing the money with no chance of recovery. Or losing the money because you lost your wallet.
The recent world events argument (especially for Advance Wars) is silly.
a) This war is not ending any time soon b) When it does, there will be warfare going on somewhere else c) There are a bajillion other war related games out there.
Portal 2: Motion controls present again. Menu text noticeably clearer on my 4k TV. Everything else (feature-wise) looks the same as the X360 version, with the co-op DLC included as part of the main game. Seems to be Community Leaderboards for challenge levels.
So, it looks like Portal 1 has Developer Commentary from 'the Orange Box', Challenge Maps from 'Portal: Still Alive' (called Bonus Maps). Achievements but no Leaderboards. At first glance from the starting screen resolution looks higher.
(edit: all the portal games were apparently xbox one x enhanced, so maybe I'm just seeing things (or the menus are different))

Re: PSA: Don't Be Alarmed, Nintendo's New Clock Isn't A "Limited-Time" Product
Mine came this afternoon. Very cute, but it's the Animal Crossing alarms that will really make it.
Re: Nintendo Submits "Mysterious New Wireless Device" To FCC
@HotGoomba So close!
Re: Nintendo Submits "Mysterious New Wireless Device" To FCC
I meant to say, I found this news very Alarm(o)ing.
Re: 'Tetris Forever' Compiles More Than 15 Titles In A New Interactive Documentary
I totally missed nes Tetris coming to Switch Online. I wonder why it's not included in the package?
Also wonder why this article, says 15 titles, and some say 8?
(edit: I see the Digital Eclipse page says 15, and that's good enough for me!)
Re: Switch Online NES Controller Limited-Time Sale Now Live (North America)
Works with ‘Nintendo World Championships’.

Re: Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition Estimated Switch File Size Revealed
@GamerGrandpa I've got 7 friends so it works out at about £7.50/year...

Re: Super Mario Bros. Wonder Is Officially The "Fastest-Selling" Super Mario Title Ever
@Paulo or perhaps we’ll have backwards compatibility?

Re: Review: Trombone Champ - A Hilarious Party Game That Blows A Big Raspberry At Perfection
It’s an easy 8/10 especially at this price (£11). Really enjoyed it so far.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Everybody 1-2-Switch!
@NinjaNicky I would bet £5 that it’s not a sarcastic comment.
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Everybody 1-2-Switch!
@LEGEND_MARIOID does first party Nintendo ever go in the bargain bin?
Re: Nintendo Has Apparently Retired Its Gulf War Game Boy
I’m sure I saw this at the imperial war museum in London (maybe it was a picture?)
Re: Random: Console Modder Creates A Fully Functional "Wii XL"
@-wc- what is this thing called ‘love’?
Re: Tetris The Absolute Grandmaster 2 Plus Slots Into Hamster's Arcade Archives Next Month
You’re missing a ‘the’ in the title. And what an excellent title it is!
Re: LEGO Expands Its Retro Gaming Collection With A $270 PAC-MAN Arcade Set
I’m deep enough into LEGO that this seems like a fully reasonable price. Don’t want it though but mostly because I’m bad at Pac-Man.

@bertieterror cheers!
Re: Super Mario Bros. Movie DVD, Blu-ray And 4K Steelbook Pre-Orders Are Now Live
I’m hoping for a Tetris movie steelbook with some quality extras.
Re: Movie Review: Tetris - The Blocks Don't Quite Line Up In This Mostly Fun Thriller
It was silly but very enjoyable. More like an 8, I would say.

Arrived this morning! Charging now!
Re: 'Tetris Effect: Connected' Is Getting TATE Mode In A Free Update
So, TATE mode is nice, but there's a serious bug now that's deleting high scores. Happened to me. https://twitter.com/enhance_exp/status/1628210850292174853?s=20
Re: Switch's Game Boy Library Doesn't Have A Set Schedule, According To Nintendo
@Clyde_Radcliffe Also, I’m surprised they got Tetris. Nes Tetris now please!
Re: Switch's Game Boy Library Doesn't Have A Set Schedule, According To Nintendo
I'm still surprised there's no Super Mario Land. I mean I know the game can be completed in about 14 minutes, but it's the one I started with!

Re: Nintendo Switch System Update 15.0.0 Is Now Live, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
@napabar You must have missed one, because mine were already up to date. Including ones that have been in a cupboard for a month.
Re: PSA: Remember To Update Your Switch Joy-Con And Pro Controllers
@Scarko I'm sure that used to be the case. Now off to check my two older joycons and pokeball...
Re: Nintendo Switch System Update 15.0.0 Is Now Live, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
@napabar Just the pro controller I think, and it updated wirelessly and I had always thought it needed to be connected by usb!
Re: Surprise! Nintendo Has Launched Two New Social Media Accounts
@Patchanka And before anyone asks... There is also already a Nintendo Portugal Twitter account.
Re: Disney Dreamlight Valley Receives Update, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
My wife loves it (as an animal Crossing Fan), playing on the Xbox Series X, though.
Re: Nintendo Hosting Tetris 99 'Second Chance' Maximus Cup This Friday
Argh. I’m only missing theme 22.

@Erigen Not duck hunt?
Re: Random: Dev Launches Attack On NFTs At An NFT-Sponsored Event
@YoshiF2 I don't want to send money to Russia. I'm making a point that sometimes there are barriers for good reason.
If I lose my wallet and someone buys stuff with my debit card, yes I am covered. https://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/advice/my-card-has-been-lost-or-stolen-and-used-to-purchase-goods-aA9jH8l5V6Zz#
It's ok. You like crypto.

@Kiz3000 Ownership is a legal concept. It's got nothing to do with the technology behind it.
Re: Video Game Publisher Bandai Namco Appears To Have Been Hacked
@Yosher Mm.... no. They deserve prison.

Re: Portal Modders Have Already Got Half-Life 2 Running On Switch
I'm a little curious how much space this unplayable HL2 data takes up on the switch?

Re: Portal: Companion Collection Launches For Switch Today
@The_Pixel_King 2 games separately. They're not separately purchasable, though. The icons are both standard.
Re: Super Bomberman R 2 Coming To Switch In 2023
So it looks like Bomberman R Online is being rolled into this sequel. Let's just hope they stay clear of the microtransactions.

Re: Portal: Companion Collection Launches For Switch Today
@Ooyah Nah, just tinkering. And now to compare with Xbox 360 Orange Box and standalone versions (while Portal 2 downloads).
Re: Portal: Companion Collection Launches For Switch Today
Also has Director's commentary and Bonus Levels.
Re: Portal: Companion Collection Launches For Switch Today
@BenAV Portal 1 has 'motion aiming' with a bunch of configuration options. I'd guess Portal 2 does as well, then.
