@johnvboy Oh, I've played through all the story, and it's very fun. Now trying to 100% but taking a little bit of a break.

@Joekun I can only play it for an hour ata time, I've had a little bit of seasickness with it, but nothing like with Quake or Doom...

@johnvboy Same, but I've got a little exhausted by it, might go back to the x360 games for a bit. Also, the UI glitches are annoying. All my minifigs have yellow dots next to them that reset on every restart. And there's a frame glitch in the opening screen ever time. No game breaking glitches for me, though.

@Silly_G It can be played on an Xbox, which is helpful if that's the only console you own

@somebread I tend to agree that people shouldn't get away with pirating current games (to be defined by someone else) but it's hard to disagree that 40 months in prison is an overblown response.

Shut down their business. Sue them, etc. All good.

I'm not a 'law-and-order' worshipper, and I appreciate this is two different jurisdictions but, the similarity in sentencing is wacky.

@Kiyata If you buy physical, you can only play it on one system at a time.

If you have digital you have to have some way of proving if you have the right to play the game, otherwise (theoretically) everyone in the world could share one account and only pay once.

@KevTastic84 Yeah, annoyingly owning the original release didn't give you any perks in the online game.

I’m not that miffed about not getting my £8 back for a live service. If my copy of Mario Kart stopped working, I’d be annoyed.

@KevTastic84 if you’re talking about the game that came out years ago, should be fine. They didn’t do a physical version of ‘Bomberman R Online’ did they?

@Mauzuri Is it though? Lego games are known for being glitchy, but this has been pretty solid (one controller disconnection bug that got fixed in a patch (I think)) and some very minor 'can't move' bugs that fix themselves after 30 seconds. Is this because I'm playing on XSX?

Lego Battlestar Galactica would be amazing. For me.

The lego DLC in Forza Horizon 4 is also pretty fun (sorry, wrong website).

@Bunkerneath What system? No real issues here (Xbox Series X). It is occasionally a slog, but it's Star Wars so it's fun.

Would like them to do a similar openworld revamp of the Wizarding World, but would take years (and of course there'd be all sorts of drama).

@nessisonett you can play nhl94 on the xbox, though, it was reissued.

@Lord it has, and I believe you have to turn usb communication on temporarily for it to work. There was no update to pro controller or pokéball this time as far as I could tell.

@HalBailman I admire your optimism, but there is zero chance that you will be able to keep the dlc. It’ll presumably be something like the way trial game licenses work or I’m guessing the nes/snes games.

@Silly_G When you release a browser you commit to security updates for the life of the platform. Again, why bother when everyone with a console has a phone?

I think it was probably based on the whole situation, but yes, obviously terrible.

@GannonBanned It's useful if you've got no other console or smart tv box. But if you want to watch things on a tiny screen your phone is probably easier. I'm mostly saying that because unless it has netflix or disney+ I don't have much reason to use it.

@Spider-Kev Depends what the terms of the contract say. If you're jailed for theft, you're probably going to get sacked even if you didn't steal from your employer.

@Korgon I've got no insight into why Nintendo do what they do, but at some point they took a cost-benefit decision on providing communication features.

I'm surprised they provide them at all for the drama it causes.

I doubt very much if they provided the features that people would use them. Just a hunch. Text communication with a game controller is a pain anyway. And if you're going to use a phone anyway, why not use one of the many better systems that already exists?

@Banjo- You absolutely can get a family membership for the expansion pack.

I respect your opinion that you think the online is poor value. For what I pay and what I want, it is objectively good value.

Providing Mario Kart for free would be zero value to 50% of Switch owners (https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2019/01/nearly_half_of_all_switch_owners_have_a_copy_of_mario_kart_8_deluxe).

And if they were going to provide access to all first party games (like Microsoft does) you can bet it would cost A LOT more.

Is it worth the extra £3.12/year over what I was already paying? Undoubtedly.

@Banjo- Except they offered future DLC for games almost every Switch owner already owns. Getting Mario Kart and Animal Crossing for free would have benefited almost no one (maybe parents with multiple switches).

@Emperor-Palpsy I'm basically agreed with you, except I think I pay £7 per year for the whole NSO + expansion pack (thank you, 7 friends).

If this were anyone else, it would be hubris, but the value proposition of Nintendo is their first class IP. Their online offering doesn't have to be great considering the games I can only play on Nintendo and that are still great despite the hardware being far behind the last gen.

They've obviously goofed up in the past, but this had nothing to do with their online offering, and if anything we now have a generation of children playing and loving the same video game franchises as their parents.

@Korgon Because other ways to message people exist, and moderating a message service is a massive headache? It's one of the areas I'm not really surprised on.
