Re: Review: Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir - A Delightful And Silly Mystery

Trikeboy

@LXP8 Yeah, I agree, £50 is too much. I mean, all they did was completely update every single drawing in the game, put in a few animations, hire a team of voice actors to fully voice both games, make a complete translation from the previous Japanese only release, and add in a bunch of quality of life upgrades. They were SUPER lazy on this.

£50 gets you both games btw. £25 each. You probably paid more for Another Code, Hotel Dusk and the Ace Attorney games (if you bought them)

@Euro-B You don't know how to use quotation marks when typing. Only use them when you are actually quoting what someone actually said, not what you interpret. Also, I said the games are "Bad/disappointing" and "mediocre to bad".

Your opinion on the games, in your words:
Black Knight - "Nothing 'Super Special'"
Lost Word - "mediocre"
Forces - "mediocre like Forces"
Sonic 06 - "nothing like 06 or Boom" with the context they are worse than mediocre, which means bad.

You said nothing to defend Secret Rings so I will assume that means you didn't like it. I didn't include Boom because that wasn't made by Sonic Team. Even with Unleased you said "an almost perfect level design (at day)," Which means you think the night levels aren't as good, or as I put it "disappointing", and the night levels are the whole purpose for that game existing. Oh, and I'm not using my own personal opinion. Look up the critical reception of the games. Sonic 4 part 2 got mediocre reviews. 5/10s or 6/10s across the board from critics and fans. Sonic games haven't been great for a very long time. Probably the Sonic Advance games or Sonic Colours was the last time Sonic was great.

@Euro-B Hey look, a Sonic Team Stan has appeared. Not sure why you quoted "Completely bad reputation" in your reply to me because I never said that. Also, you listed 3 good games. Lets see how many bad/disappointing games we can list: Sonic Forces, Sonic and the Secret Rings, Sonic and the Black Knight, Shadow the Hedgehog, Sonic 06, Sonic 4 part 1 and 2, Sonic Unleased (you liked it, I didn't), Sonic Lost World. 8 vs 3.

In the last 10 years Sonic Team have mostly produced mediocre to bad Sonic games and a bunch of Puyo Puyo games. It is time to archive the team.

Re: Soapbox: It's Time For Nintendo's Sonic Mania Moment

@TheFarmboy Maybe those fans could spend their time and energy making their own thing as a spiritual successor (Cities: Skylines, Mighty No.9, Yooka Laylee, Axiom Verge, Two Point Hospital, TemTem, War for the Overworld) and maybe they could even sell the game on the Nintendo eshop.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo And The Industry Needs To Get Serious About Game Preservation

Trikeboy

@Slowdive sorry mate but that is hogwash. There are plenty of games I played back in the early 80s that are nowhere to be found anywhere online and that is fine. Your example of Super Metroid is one of the most famous games of its generation and had large production runs meaning finding the game on original hardware is incredibly easy. People would have made spiritual successors and other Metroidvania games even if the roms didn't exist. And again "They are part of history" is just sentimentality and nostalgia talking. As for young developers, there is a thing called teaching. Where people who know how to do something inform the younger people. There are also developers conferences where people share their knowledge. No need to backup games to study the code.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo And The Industry Needs To Get Serious About Game Preservation

Trikeboy

I've yet to hear a compelling argument as to WHY we need game preservation beyond sentimentality. Oh, and your little comment about "some people use rom site for piracy", change the word some to most. And another thing, don't let Xbox off the hook for game preservation. Turtles in Time Reshelled is lost to the ages, and some exclusive original Xbox games have NEVER been rerelease either in physical or digital form.

Re: Dev Explains Why Nintendo Made Mario's Anniversary Games Limited-Time

Trikeboy

It is no different to Pumpkin Spice Latte, the McRib, Cadbury's Creme Eggs, Disney movies and pretty much anything else that carries a Limited Release tag and people only freak out when Nintendo do it. They said it was limited when the games were revealed and gave you 6 months to buy/play the games. Plenty of time. Also, I was just in my local supermarket and Super Mario 3D All Stars was still sitting on the shelves. The physical copies didn't disappear in a puff of smoke.

BTW, people should expect new content. It looks like the Palkia/Dialga statue has been fused together. Are the DNA Splicers from Black and White going to make an appearance? https://scontent.fgla3-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/155096011_10217953483579727_3550003395776814510_o.jpg?_nc_cat=111&ccb=3&_nc_sid=dbeb18&_nc_ohc=kHRbQrZ6r1EAX9eEOjF&_nc_ht=scontent.fgla3-1.fna&oh=a936c2b2931cdd24d82bdc3e858ab8b0&oe=6060DD5D

Re: Top Hat Studios Issues Statement Regarding Demands To Censor Sense - A Cyberpunk Ghost Story

Trikeboy

I'm sorry, but is this even real? There is nothing being reported about anyone having a problem about this game, except for today. I can find no evidence of anyone having a problem with this game before today's "statement". It looks to me like the developers decided to make a fake controversy to get the white knight YouTubers to make videos about their game calling out "the puritans of Twitter", while simultaneously promoting their game. This is just free marketing and you are all falling for it.

Re: Random: Disgruntled Fans Spam Nintendo Tweet In Response To YouTube Soundtrack Takedowns

Trikeboy

Yup, someone who has no problem pointing out the mistakes the company has made is a corporate shill. Sticking with cartridges when the CD age started? Huge mistake and seriously damaged the N64. Making an overpowered Gamecube when they knew the PS4 and Xbox One were coming soon after the Wii U launched? The marketing of the Wii U. Being ***** to Sony during the development of the Playstation in the 90s. They created their own competition and are still playing catchup. The way they are handling the Joy-Con drift problem, or should I say not handling it. Nintendo have done a lot of ***** over the years.
