@Bizaster Step 1: Open a browser window. Step 2: Go to your favourite streamer's video. Step 3: Turn on that stream. Step 4: Open another browser window. Step 5: Go to Nintendo's E3 stream. Step 6: Turn on that stream. Step 7: Watch both at the same time.
@electrolite77 Who is stopping you from watching a live reaction? You are moaning about Nintendo taking views away from content creators, but you are fine with content creators taking views away from Nintendo? Hypocrite. All they ask is you also have the stream for Nintendo open at the same time so both your favourite content creator gets your views and Nintendo gets their views.
@Ardisan care to explain how this would hurt content creators if all you have to do is have two video streams open? If they said "No re-streamers at all" you might have a point.
@Schalenbach whats wrong with you acting like a baby when all you have to do is open another window. The content creator will still get your views. Also, you didn't answer the question. How will this negatively affect their views if they are allowed to stream and all you have to do is open another window. Are you really that lazy you can't open a separate window?
@Schalenbach How exactly does it hurt the content creators? Open their stream in one window, and have Nintendo's stream open in another window. BOOM!! The content creator gets their views and Nintendo gets their views. Everyone wins. If you watch a content creator, they get the views and Nintendo get no views.
That sounds perfectly reasonable to me. Nintendo will be tracking how many people are watching to gauge the viewership. If you are watching a person that is watching it, then there will be lower numbers on their streams. You can upload a full reaction after with no restrictions. Also do you really want to be watching for the first time then have "HEEEEEEYYYYYYYY!!!! WOOOOO!!!!!!" go right over some information?
Apparently Guardians of the Galaxy leaked, I didn't know that so it was brand new when I saw it during the Square Enix show and that was a lovely surprise I wouldn't have had if I had seen the leaks.
@COVIDberry I agree, but why steal to learn? Would you walk into a book shop, pick up a educational book and walk out of the store without paying? Even if you are making a spiritual successor, no need to use graphics someone else owns. Geometric shapes work just as well as stolen graphics. The first game I designed was a Donkey Kong style game, but I didn't take any of Nintendo's graphics while working on the early builds to get the game working.
Why not have difficulty options? Unlimited lives and Tails assist on easy, limited lives with Tails assist on normal, limited lives and no Tails assist on hard. You know, so the beginners can hone their skills with one game, like how it has been done for decades.
Good news to the "Game Preservation" people. You don't need game ROMs any more since they will most likely be preserved here. Does that make you happy?
They were making money off the roms. This wasn't "preservation" that so many people talk about. They were taking things owned by others and selling access to them. That is theft, not preservation.
So, did it take them 5 minutes to make the BDSP box art or was it only 4? Legends Arceus looks great but wow, ILCA really skimped on the artwork. Anyone can do that in Blender fairly easily using the in-game models.
All it would have taken is for the people making the book to have just spoken to Nintendo BEFORE they made the Kickstarter and all of this drama wouldn't have happened. How hard is it to ask permission before using someone's IP?
To the people who make games on stolen IPs: Stop making your fan games, make your own stuff to showcase your talent. If they let some crap like this on the eshop, you can get your game on the eshop too.
@electrolite77 Yeah, just like when people used to buy Action Replay/Gameshark carts. Those weren't free. You buy a thing and can do extra stuff. I remember buying a Gameboy memory card for multiple save files for Pokemon. That would have been considered by some a QoL thing, but you had to buy a separate piece of hardware to do it. The only time I have disagreed with how Nintendo handled amiibo content is locking a whole mode behind one with Metroid Samus Returns. That one was excessive. This one is a pointless feature that is more like a cheat code than a feature.
@electrolite77 How exactly is it a QoL thing when you can warp to the sky when inside a dungeon? It takes any and all challenge out of the game if you can just run away. QoL should make the game better to play, not take the challenge out of the game. Skyward Sword has a stealth section that removes all your items. You have to get through it all. If during play you are hurt, just warp away and heal? If that is what you call QoL then you really must suck at Zelda games. It is an Action Replay code for running away, not a QoL feature.
This isn't a QoL thing, it is a way to run away from your problems and removes any challenge from the game. If you need this option in the game, you should hang up your joycons.
This amiibo, that is a "Run Away" option. If you think a "Run Away" option is a much needed option, you suck at Zelda games. Even in the middle of a dungeon if things are going rough, you can just choose an option to run away and stock up then return right to the exact same place you were having trouble? Why bother buying the game if you can't handle it? This is worse than an easy mode. I'll be buying the amiibo, but only for the model. I won't be unboxing it. I don't need to run away.
@TheFullAndy Now I understand your confusion: "adding in a way to play a Wii game as intended WITHOUT motion controls" I was meaning the contents of the game, not the control style. For example the door eyes where you have to rotate the sword to open. They haven't altered the game content to make the button control mode. That is a quality of life upgrade, not run away mode like this amiibo.
@TheFullAndy "So, adding in a way to play a Wii game as intended WITHOUT motion controls" They are adding in button controls to a Wii game. A game that was intended to play WITH motion controls. Do you just suck at reading comprehension as well as Zelda games? Putting in button controls is a quality of life improvement. You were complaining about other companies make quality of life improvements as standard, but not Nintendo. However, Nintendo are adding in button controls as standard as a quality of life improvement. You are complaining Nintendo don't do it, when they literally showcased a quality of life improvement in the reveal trailer. As for this amiibo, it isn't a quality of life thing, it is basically a cheat for people who suck at Zelda games.
@TheFullAndy "Go ask Nintendo how they think this is acceptable in this day and age when other companies are pushing for accessibility/quality of life options in their games as standard?"
So, adding in a way to play a Wii game as intended WITHOUT motion controls is not Nintendo adding accessibility/quality of life options?
@screechums This website doesn't show when you edit your comments. How sad that you have to edit your comment to make a comeback.
If they limited it to the overworld only, you might have a point, but since you can also do it in dungeons, that makes it an easy mode. Say you are in a dungeon, you run out of arrows, so you amiibo out, refill your arrows and go right back to where you were, fully refreshed. That is bordering on Action Replay/Gameshark codes.
This isn't a quality of life upgrade, this easy mode for the game. Use it any time, go refill your health and consumables, then go back, even if you are in a dungeon? If you need this amiibo for the game, you truly suck at Zelda games. The sculpt is good, but I doubt I will unbox it.
If they were going to rerelease those games, the 3DS would have been the perfect platform to release them on. Not sure how the 3D effect would work on the Switch.
@Pokester99 That is the weakest response ever. Game Freak chose Bandai Namco, TiMi and ILCA to make the games. Why is it ok to whine and blame Game Freak for games you don't like, but don't praise Game Freak for games that are well received by fans? You are just as bad as the morons that criticize Kathleen Kennedy when they don't like something in Star Wars, but never praise her when there is something they do like in Star Wars.
@Kelnos @Pokester99 @dont_simp_for_them Yes, I know, I was hoping Pokestar99 would say something like "thank you Bandai Namco", and he did. Funny that Pokester99 says thanks to Namco but complains about Game Freak when Game Freak aren't the ones developing UNITE and BDSP. Shouldn't you be praising Game Freak since the answer to his leading question: "Who gets a say into what should or shouldn't be published?" is Game Freak? You aren't a hypocrite are you Pokester99?
This could have been avoided if they simply applied for the IP before starting the Kickstarter. Also, do people here think that the Legal team for Nintendo are also employed in the Game Development teams?
@Pokester99 Game Freak own the brand, but The Pokémon Company has the say in what is published, along with Nintendo. Game Freak did a great job with New Pokémon Snap.
@clvr who said I am unaware of the channel and video? Also I said the animation was impressive. Why are you so defensive? And since you drew attention to my profile pic, just like the creator, I made it in Blender using assets taken from Pokemon games.
I love these kinds of games so I will be picking them up at next payday. Not sure why people are moaning about the price here in the UK, Nintendo have put a lot of work into these. £25 per game seems reasonable. I do wish there was a physical release though.
@LXP8 I certainly think developers should be paid. You are the one moaning about the price of TWO games, not one, being packaged together at £50 by dismissing it as "just a visual novel" when they are clearly more than that. Compare the games to their original form and you can clearly see the developers of these remakes have done a lot of work to more than justify the price of the games.
