Re: GoldenEye 25 Shuts Down After Cease And Desist From 007 IP Holder

Trikeboy

@Stocksy Star Wars, Star Trek and Sonic are all allowed by the IP holders. However, the IP holders created rules that people need to follow when making something based on that IP. For example, Star Wars Theory on youtube applied for permission before he made his Darth Vader fan film. He was allowed to do it as long as he made no money from it. Star Trek actually was a major issue for a while. Paramount cracked down hard on fan productions. They eventually relented but productions had to only be a certain length. As for Sonic, well, Sega haven't made a truly great Sonic game in years so they are fine with fans making Sonic games since they give them good press.

Re: GoldenEye 25 Shuts Down After Cease And Desist From 007 IP Holder

Trikeboy

When will people realize you cannot just take someone's IP without applying for a licence first? At this point, all these developers are doing is remake a game, get notoriety, then once their name is known and the get the C&D they make their own game that probably would have gone unnoticed if there wasn't some "controversy".

Re: Start Menu Screen For LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Supposedly Leaked

Trikeboy

@RiasGremory Sorry but Mark Hamill isn't the authority on the character. He certainly is entitled to his opinion but he only knows Luke when he is in his early 20s and still headstrong. If you think a 60 year old is the same person he was when he was 20, you are in for some shocking life developments.

Who is the authority on Luke? George Lucas. The little we know about his plans for Luke had Luke living as a depressed hermit on an island next to a Jedi temple. When a young woman (Kira in his draft) comes looking for training, he would refuse her. Sound familiar? That is what we saw in The Last Jedi.

Also, anyone who believes that rumour of Lucasfilm retconning the sequel trilogy are just kidding themselves. It is NEVER going to happen. Stop listening to angry "fandom menace" youtubers and clickbait news sites.

Re: Poll: Did The Nintendo Direct Mini: Partners Showcase Meet Your Expectations?

Trikeboy

People always get their hopes up then moan when what they want to have seen isn't shown. Stop speculating on what could be in a new Direct and then you will not have your expectations shattered. I always go into a Direct with no expectations so I can just enjoy the news. Besides the WWE game I quite liked everything they showed in this Direct. Nothing groundbreaking, but still enjoyable.

@fafonio "If they don’t fix their ship, Pokemon will become an over saturated franchise."

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahaha

Sorry, had to get that out. You said it "will become" an over saturated franchise? As a franchise, Pokemon is well past that by now. I'm a mega Pokemon fan but, dude, the franchise is very over saturated.

Re: Random: The Pokémon Company Re-Uploads Its Pokémon Unite Videos, And Fans Aren't Happy

Trikeboy

The way they revealed the game was a bit weird but why is it so unpopular? As a franchise, Pokemon has a lot of spin of titles and this is just another spin off. If you don't like it, don't play it. Why are so many people being immature about it? The main line games didn't stop when the likes of Pokemon Rumble, Pokemon Trozei, Pokemon Dash etc came out. The main line will continue despite this game existing. As for the reveal weirdness, I too was hoping for Gen 2 or Gen 4 remakes, but, I don't really care. They probably only made it a separate reveal at the request of Tencent.

@sanderev My friend, I heard similar complaints 20 years ago when the prequels came out.

But, to respond to your bullet point:
1. Check out the acting in the original Star Wars movie. Sorry but the acting in that movie isn't much to write home about either. Also, the dialogue in George Lucas directed movies can be very painful. The man is a genius storyteller but he can't do dialogue.
2. You are talking about movies which includes genocide against the planet Alderaan, where the Empire builds not one but two planet destroying weapons, social cleansing and brainwashing as not violent?
3. Rey has plenty of flaws for those of you paying attention. She is incredibly naive, a terrible shot with ranged weapons, is easily manipulated, and far too bold.
4. Agree in part. Kylo Ren is not supposed to be the big bad villain though. The intention for his character was someone trying to break out of his very parents shadow. Someone that felt abandoned, shipped off and betrayed. That is what he delivered. Sorry you wanted a mustache twirling big bad, but they went with someone with a complicated back story that wasn't bad just because they need a bad guy.

"Every white male in the movies either dies, is evil or has some other major flaw." Never go full racist. I guess six movies where the white man is always victorious wasn't enough for you. I'm more interested in the characters than the colour of their skin. Sorry they couldn't give most of the main roles to just white men this time around. Also, you cannot complain a character is flawed and complain a character has no flaws. Oh and white characters that don't fit your criteria: Wedge Antilies, Beaumont Kin,

The Sequels tell a story too. It deals with the aftermath of the war and shows how history can easily repeat itself if we don't learn from our mistakes.

@sanderev ""I don't really get the hate Jar-Jar Binks gets. He's by far one of the best characters in that movie.

Also Jar-Jar is better than any of the characters in the latest trilogy."

In 20 years the kids who love the Sequel trilogy will be adults and saying the exact same thing, and will most likely be moaning about what ever new Star Wars movie is out. Star Wars fans, of which I am a proud member, really need to learn to loosen up. They are kids movies.

Re: Hacker Group Not Happy About Nintendo's "Censorship" And "Legal Scare Tactics"

Trikeboy

You agree to this when you buy hardware from Nintendo. They are enforcing the EULA.

"Nintendo End User Licence Agreement:
1. License Grant/Restrictions.
Subject to the terms of this Agreement, you may use the software, content, and data that came with the Console, or that is compatible with or authorized for use in connection therewith, including any updates or replacement to that software, content, or data that we or our authorized providers make available to you (collectively, the “Software”). The Software is licensed, not sold, to you solely for your personal, noncommercial use on the Console. You may not publish, copy, modify, reverse engineer, lease, rent, decompile, disassemble, distribute, offer for sale, or create derivative works of any portion of the Software, or bypass, modify, defeat, tamper with, or circumvent any of the functions or protections of the Console, unless otherwise permitted by law. Content obtained through the use of an unauthorized device, or through the unauthorized modification of Console hardware or software, may be removed. You agree not to use the Console in an unlawful manner or to access the consoles, devices, accounts, or data of others (including Nintendo) without their (or our) consent."

They also know the hack makes it extremely easy to play pirated games. Of course "this is not our intention", what a crock of sh*t. Also, they are making money off of it. They are not doing this so people can upload their games.

Re: Sega Celebrates Its 60th Anniversary With A Micro Version Of The Game Gear

Trikeboy

So, they made it too small to see the screen so made a magnifier, they put only 4 games on each handheld even though memory exists for the entire library, they put different games on each one so in order to get all 16 games you have to buy all four which is roughly $200, then put all the Shining Force games on one when they could have branched the franchise over multiple units to get the Shining Force fans to buy them all? This kind of baffling practices are why Sega dropped out of the hardware business.
