Gamefreak, Creatures Inc, The Pokemon Company do not own the concept of a monster catching game. Fair play to them if they are making their own product. I hope it goes well.
A model swap is the easiest mod you can do. No stats, no movesets, no dynamax, no detailed animations. And thats just a Let's Go model. Anything after Gen 1 will have the same model but the textures will need a massive overhaul, and new texture information as the 3DS and Switch do not use the same file system for the games. This simple model swap doesn't and shouldn't impress anyone that knows what happens behind the scenes of these games.
Im playing Shield and loving it. It is vastly superior to Sun and Moon, and maybe even X and Y. The balance between old and new pokemon is really good and there is plenty of choices. I just got badge 4 and the game is not slowing down. Thanks Gamefreak.
The difference between Mai and Bayonetta is a simple one. CERO have no problem with Bayonetta because there are no panty shots. Sakurai always stays true to the default character sprite and there is no way to use Mai and not have panty shots. It would have taken the game away from its A rating, which means anyone can play it.
The movie will probably still be crap but I will go watch it for the sole reason that the studios listened to feedback and changed the design. That is rare these days.
I just bought the turquoise one. This article had nothing to do with my choice. The grey one was too plain looking and the yellow one was too bright for me.
JayJ, you do not seem to understand what a NDA is and how they work. They will list the things you can talk about and the things you can't talk about. You have the option to sign. Once you put your signature on the paper you are bout to what the NDA says, and any and all consequences that were listed in the document you signed. It does matter one bit that the person isnt paid by them. They put their name on a piece of paper saying they won't discuss it, and he discussed it. Epic are free to persue him because he essentially gave them permission to persue him when he signed the NDA.
@JayJ If you sign a NDA you are bound to it, along with the consequences they outline if you break it. It doesn't matter who you work for. Outside contractors or testers also sign NDA's.
You do not break a NDA and not expect to be sued. I don't know the details of this specific NDA but I have signed a couple when at job interviews. The consequenses for breaking it are normally listed in the NDA. So, Sykes signed something most likely knowing he will be sued. His five minutes of fame are going to come with a large price tag.
@Mogster Have you even played the game or are you going by what others have said online? you spoke to people. Heres 30 gems. You fought people, here's 100 gems. You spoke to more people, here's another 30 gems. You spoke to even more people, have another 30 gems. More battles? Here are 100 gems. Even more battles? Have 100 gems. Oh, you logged in today, here's 100 gems. You finished an event for the first time? Have 30 gems. You finished a training course for the first time? Here are 10 gems. Oh, you got a move booster, heres more gems. You earned 10000 gold coins (not purchasable with realworld money) have more gems. Story mode throws enough gems at you to have more than enough trainers to do everything in the game.
They still had nothing to apologise for but more content is always good. Yes, they do have a way to get characters for premium currency but they are not locked behind it. Blue is one that had the "pay wall" event but I got him with the random in game currency. People who complain about grinding in a Pokemon game confuse me. How have they been playing other Pokemon games if they don't grind for levels? I levelled up all of my sync parters quickly using only in game rewards.
Other Gatcha games would have put so much more behind a paywall. Pokemon Masters is very generous with how much you can get for free. The premium currency can only be used to find sync pairs. You cannot use it to buy items that let you level up. That would be unheard of in other gatcha games.
Fatachu finally revealed. It was in the leak from so long ago. I think this means everything in that leak was 100% accurate now. Good to see you again Gen 1 Pikachu. I hope they show the new Lapras form too.
What I like about this is it is fairly large yet the Wild Area is only a part of the game world. The full map shows that not everything connects to the Wild Area. There will be plenty of places to explore.
Contrary to someone's complaint above, this is not an open world game. It is actually similar to Lumiose City from X and Y or Hyrule Field from Ocarina of Time. A centralized area with exits to other areas.
@TheLightSpirit "Mobile gaming will never interest me "
Ok, you heard him developers, only make games for TheLightSpirit. Just because other people are choosing other ways to play, only cater to this one person and screw the rest of the world.
@Kalmaro "we already know what we wanted, a main line Pokémon game" Pokemon Sword and Shield were announced BEFORE Pokemon Masters so I don't understand this.
@StephanDLW Nintendo don't make Pokemon games and had nothing to do with Masters. Also, mobile gaming is actually extremely popular in their home market. Not making mobile games is stupid at this point.
@Kalmaro "People are complaining because we never asked for a mobile game."
Hands up who asked for a game where you control a goose. I forgot that game developers only make games people ask for.
For a game that has such a terrible pay wall, they sure as heck throw a lot of free stuff at you. You can get every trainer completely free. If you are autoplaying the game no wonder you aren't enjoying it. The only thing locked behind payable currency is the exact same thing you get behind in game currency. 300 free gems or 100 paid gems. The story throws gems at you just for talking to a trainer. Sure, you can pay to get more gems but the game throws enough at you that you don't need to buy any.
I actually really like Pokemon Masters. It is the best, and simultaneously the worst Gatcha style game ever. Best because you can literally do everything without spending a single penny because the game provides you everything you need to beat, level up and power up completely for free and you can get it quickly. There are no timers, you don't need gems to play again after you played 5 matches. You can play the game all day and never hit a pay wall. Worst because of the same reason, from a business point of view. Players don't need to spend any money so you just have to hope they do.
I don't see what people are complaining about. Sure, its a mobile game, and once Pokemon Sword and Shield come out I will play that instead, but I'm having good ol' simple fun with this on my phone.
@ALinkttPresent In September last year there was a massive earthquake in Hokkaido, Japan. As a result, Nintendo cancelled a planned Direct so staff could be with their families. Perfectly reasonable right? Not according to a lot of western gamers who commented stuff like "It didn't affect us" or "the Direct is prerecorded, they should just show it". These people are scum and you can bet if this gets cancelled due to a typhoon, those people will complain again.
@HappyMaskedGuy Ohh, sorry, I didn't realize you were a troll. Your profile:

You say you only want to talk to adults but behave like an immature child. How sad do you have to be to come to a website you don't like?
@HappyMaskedGuy Then try acting like one. Their little joke had the potential to cause a high profile legal case for Bandai Namco and Nintendo which Nintendo would have been 100% at fault, as it was their project, even though it was outsourced. If a team you hired for a job puts you in that situation, you fire them. The offenders were dealt with. It has nothing to do with the sale and profit of the game.
@HappyMaskedGuy They did it, they joked about it and when their employer found out, they were dealt with. Sorry the real world isn't a sitcom where they will get a rap on the knuckles, get told not to do it again and everything is back to normal by the next episode. I feel sorry for the families of the people involved but not the ones who actually did the deed.
@HappyMaskedGuy Yeah, who would have guessed that a little bit of copyrite infringement between companies would be such a big deal right? $2M? It could have cost Nintendo substantially more had Bandai Namco discovered the use of its assets first. These are the rules of the real world, not the pretend world of the over entitled internet users.
Why would you pay for stuff in this game? I've been playing and not even thought of paying for anything. The game gives you everything you will need to finish the story mode and mission modes for free along with easy access to leveling up your characters, unlock moves, etc.
I like the game. I have spent nothing on the game and have nearly all my characters at their max level and am currently working on getting more moves. It is a gatcha game but it is the good kind. It will fill the gap between now and Pokemon Sword/Shield, when I will probably had my fill. Not bad for a free game.
If you don't like Nintendo's online service, nobody is forcing you to pay for it. You want to play online, you have to pay, just like the other consoles.
