Incredibly unfortunate and, in my opinion, poorly planned. As this is only a section of the park, I hope they have or implement another way that someone being excluded from this section can experience it to some degree.
This could be VR, 4D, what have you, that is only available on site and for those that are excluded from the live experience.
100% Accessibility will never be a thing, but making efforts to find alternatives is what these large companies (and governments, for that matter) need to be at the forefront of.

Surprised the S2 upgrade isn't included with NSO + Expansion, like the dlc is.

No offense to the Virtual Boy fan out there, but how we are getting a NSO service that requires a paid piece of hardware before access to the best selling hardware family* is beyond me. This seems like a no brainer, especially now with mouse mode as others have pointed out.

I have a very extensive DS library, so I'm not itching for this. But there are many people out there that have no access to all these incredible games. A slow drip from NSO is far better than a closed eshop preventing access.

Hope this happens!

*Edit: next best selling? Depending on Switch sales at this point. I believe it's close.

Forget price cuts, Switch 1 got a price increase! In Canada, anyway.

Still haven't played either, so I'll bite the bullet and get the pack. I have 3D All Stars (I know, still haven't played Galaxy yet), but in all honesty it sounds worth getting the updated version. My first experience for either game may as well be on the "best" version.

I've been saying it wrong for years... Odds are I'll continue to say it wrong for years to come. Ray-QWAY-zuh just feels wrong after this long 🤷‍♂️

If you're buying digital anyways, you get another year of discounted S1 games that you can likely purchase the S2 upgrade for. Meaning you will likely still come out ahead... through 2026, at least.
Not awful but hopefully some sort of new scheme is implemented in the future.

A nice intro would be a Fable collection port. If they can fit it on the cart. Otherwise 1/2 would probably fit on one. Just no key cards, please.

We use it whenever we play online with friends. Don't need the camera all the time, but having the voice chat easily accessible is great. Super convenient and glad it's an option now.

I'm not techy, so forgive the question if it's an easy one.

But is there any issue with the power output from a power bank to S2? Will it brick your system?

I ask because Nintendo is always very specific with stating you need to use the official Nintendo power cord (now adapter). I imagine that is due to the power levels needed at different times.

Sucks to hear someone's was scratched by the dock. Mine lived in the dock until I settled on a screen protector and case. And now it's protected 👍

Has it been noticed in other currencies that some Upgrade packs are cheaper than the difference in S1 vs S2 game price?

For examples, and I apologize I'm not techy enough for photos, in Canada the eshop shows the following:
ToTK S2 Ed = $115
ToTK S1 $90 + $15 upgrade pack = $105

BoTW S2 = $100
BoTW S1 $80 + $15 upgrade pack = $95

And I believe Kirby was something similar.

Why would they bother with this? It seems very odd to have some S2 editions more expensive than 1 + expansion.

Got the Gamecube controller coming. Will wait on the Pro.

If I can get a hold of a S2 any time soon, my OG Switch will still be sticking around. We'll see what game share can do and how that benefits our household. Then when my daughter gets old enough, it'll be passed to her. Long live the Switch.

My plan is to try and get one.

I also got the "don't worry, you're still in queue" email from Nintendo.
Plan remains to try local retailers in person on 5 June, as Nintendo has no timeline.

I've currently secured a GC controller, but no S2 yet. So the ol' C button won't get me very far as of yet.
Otherwise yes I'm looking forward to it. We'd pop open a laptop and video chat with friends in a mario party/kart game so this will be a nice option.

Still nothing. I'm thinking no chance at this point, unfortunately. Will likely be a while til I can find one, but I'll try my local retailers on 5 June.

The realism on display is definitely the reason I play mario kart. With that in mind, I can't wait to play as a cow driving a snow mobile.

Habits won't change too much for me. I really only ever bought a handful of games per year.

Kids take a lot of time, so gaming time and habits have significantly decrease in the last couple of years.

Prices won't affect me too much, in terms of quantity of games. But I could sure see it having an effect on people that buy double digit games per year. Adds up.

If Nintendo sends me an invite, I'll join in on the fun. Otherwise I doubt I'll find a copy too soon. Going for the Kart bundle to save a bit while I can — while quantities last, that is.

Oh well. Hopefully others follow the CDPR route.
Game-Keys are (in my opinion) better than codes in a box anyways. So it's something. Just not something I'm likely to invest in in the near future.

Anyone know or have a techy sense of if this controller would work with the 8Bitdo GCN bluetooth receiver?

If I could use this on the go with S2 and at home with the OG Cube, that'd be awesome.

Going to wait on the Pro controller and keep on with my OG Pro for now. But feeling like that GC Controller is needed.

Interesting. Thanks for explaining the difference. It made the hunt about 30% shorter, ish (not including gathering rupees to pay Tingle). To each their own as to how much that impacts their experience.

I never played the HD version, but always read people mentioning 'suffering the triforce quest' in the original. What made it so suffering and how was it 'improved' in the HD version? I've beaten WW many times but don't recall anything too crazy. Even with the teleporting you get close enough that sailing isn't exactly a drag either (another issue I hear about the original).

Honest questions from a guy that loved the original and never played HD, but have been beating the bring WWHD and TPHD to switch drum for years.

I tried at about 21:30 (00:30 eastern) and it said sold out on Walmart. Glad you got yours though! Very odd the mixed outcomes at various times.

I tried the standard retailers with no luck. Will be hoping my registered interest (on the first day) was quick enough to get an invite on 8 May. Really just in it for the savings of the "limited time" bundle. Though there's really no reason the inclusion of a digital download code should be a limited time thing...

This is the first time I recall reading the Mario Kart Canadian price... $110? That's about $125 in my province after tax... I'm leaning towards pre-ordering the bundle to save, but MKW may be the only S2 game I have for a while. Yikes.

Not gonna lie, when I saw the Canada pre-order delays that was my first thought. Why are we getting lumped in?? Is what it is. I never understood the month delay between now and first round of Nintendo invites for us, though. It was always stated as 8 May.

I'm on the fence still. I've been waiting and saving for some time and have the funds there waiting. But I truly do wonder how long it'll take for a new version to come out. Even as simple as improved battery, and not necessarily OLED. And between now and that eventual upgrade, how many exclusives will I really want? I've got time to pick a side, but really unsure right now.

The price of games has been a discussion point for a long time. It's the price of entertainment. Full disclosure, I don't buy a ton of games a year as I simply don't have the time of my younger years.
But when you think of the alternative entertainment options: night at the movies = like $20 now, being let's say 3 hours of entertainment. Live events depending on your fancy are easily $100 for again, let's say 3 hours of entertainment.
Yes, these things are different but in the broad category of "entertainment" options, I tend to justify my video game purchases as a very good $/hr investment.

If we must wait for the 40 anniversary, fine. But I want to buy WWHD and TPHD for Switch. If together is an option, via All Star collection type, even better. But we all know I, like most people reading this article, would pay for both anyways. Let's give the people what they want (to buy)!

Johto was when we were introduced to "baby" pokemon. Could easily pick two for Let's Go cover 'mon.

There's 4 possible combos. Just getting to explore Johto and Kanto both in the same game for me makes these the best games. I'd revisit them.
