Personally, I feel Luna Blaster is the biggest "try hard" weapon in game. Maybe cause I get killed by it... But, you really don't have to aim. It has an area of effect. Just aim a little in the air. The splat makes a large circle & kills everything above & below.
@Splatburst Can't agree more. Personally, I've never really liked a platformer on mobile. I just don't think many Nintendo IP's would translate well. This game, if letting us use our Mii's has potential.
@MJKOP Battle Dojo is one on screen, the other person on the gamepad. I have some little on's also (2, 5, & 9), they love the dojo. Usually I give the gamepad (due to motion controls simplicity) to the youngest in a match. If on screen you can use a wii mote & nunchuck. But, the better option is a Wii Pro gamepad with a Wii mote strapped to it. Look this up on the Internet, it works well & was actually put in by Nintendo Devs. The dojo is a nice break from turf wars & ranked. We'll usually spend most of our time trolling each other.
@Late Ugh, check eBay. There were some Disney Frozen plushies I found. They were (at least appeared) to be the exact same ones as in Disney store. More than likely knock offs. I haven't seen these (Splatoon) there yet, but I imagine in time.
@TrueWiiMaster I thought the whole "debacle" was that Nintendo was limiting the size of files to be downloaded. I haven't played this game, but from what I'd heard of the content, it'd never fit on the Wii shop. We would have had a gimped port at best, if not some completely different game. I'll be buying this.
@OneBagTravel Wow! I know. Loved Konami games so much. It feels like the death of the industry. I can't wait to see where their talent goes to. Hopefully, we'll see another software giant arise.
@rjejr this would still be a concept, right? So, maybe more buttons on the final product. This could work. It reminds me of the controls on Sony's first Silent Hill game. The L1 & R1 were used for strafing or moving around a target. I believe the L2 & R2 were attacks. But if we have one button that could be depressed, response would be that much quicker.
Local multiplayer & various controller support, he'll yes! This indie did it right. Played this game (demo) on Playstation & never picked it up. I'll get the Wii U version.
@grumblebuzzz From ranged battle this gives your weapon more distance. At close range this helps them from getting stuck & makes them harder to hit. Also (close up) in a clinch, they tend to point gun down & shoot your feet. Also, if you notice, their jumps are sometimes higher or lower, depending on their weapon & distance from you.
@Zyrac I play at all times of day, but mostly 12:00 AM to 03:00 AM. I agree, it would be hard to find matches without this population. No complaints for lag; I actually hold my own fairly well. But I would still like a regional option. I want to send friend requests & make more on-line friends. But the language barrier is an issue.
This is not on my "Wish List" in the Eshop, but I'd add it if it made a difference. Boy, I'll not be removing the Demo anytime soon. Really like this game, unfortunately no PC at this time, so if no Wii U version I'll miss out. š¢
@Spoony_Tech I'm always playing Splatoon from 12- 3:00 AM, PST. Usually, no one but me & Jap players in ranked battle. My on-line is "Tom." I've only seen one other player with the same tag. Maybe I'll splat you!!!
Anyway, I'm also getting this game. Looks fun.
@Tsurii Just Dance: Disney; is bland. The Just Dance series is still very alive & hopefully will be. These really are more Social games & casual. It is fun when played with the right group of people.
@Grumblevolcano We still don't know what NX is.? It could exist alongside the Wii U. The only thing that was "confirmed" by a 3rd party (some dev on Twitter) is that it's not more powerful than the PS4.
@MegaWatts No. You'd destroy with a squad. If you have any kind of communication, it'd be major advantage. So many times last night I was cursing my team, not knowing what they were doing.
Glad to see Nintendo has more digital games. They should have been doing this last gen. If only we didn't have to boot into Wii mode, but I guess that's the price of backwards compatibility. I'm getting this game. Also, I feel it's a fair price.
@Artwark only probs are with the 8GB models. Some games reportedly have to go through the internal drive, before the external. Supposedly, Odd World New & Tasty; is/will/might have this prob.
@LinkSword Glad to say the Wii U (North American) version runs without a hitch. I've dumped hours into it. Good on me, I'd planned to get the 3DS version 1st.
@MoonKnight7 I'm on West Coast (California). The whole family uses the system & Splatoon. From about 8til 12, you see a trickle. Then come 12, your the only guy whose name is not in Kanji. Japan has some rough players.
@TTGlider During main gameplay the pad is a map. Note: you can also do an overlay of the map in the main screen (of TV); it will be in the top right corner of screen. Also, the gamepad can be used for off TV play. You can toggle between the main screen & map(in this setting). Or, you can also do the overlay function mentioned above (in off tv play, on your gamepad). That's it. The game really has no touch functions.
Maybe this can somehow be connected to mobile gaming, but not sure how. Maybe a clock that tracks how long you sleep (or gamepad/phone is in dock), can unlock game content? I thought of a similar idea with a pedometer & "walking" unlocking something in game.? But not sure how it can be implemented.
@Spoony_Tech It may be blasphemy, but use a guide the first time. Then put the game down for a few months & come back to it. See if you can remember. I do this, but my enjoyment doesn't always come from discovery. I like to play around with the frame rate & mechanics of a game. Story is secondary to me. Of course this is different if I'm playing a classic series like Zelda or Metriod. I always do a "blind" run for these. Either way, GET THIS GAME! Great little game.
@allav866 Exactly. Depends on what VC games you're playing. It's nice to have the option of using whatever controller feels best. Too bad nintendo doesn't give all it's VC games Pro/ProCube support.
@Hy8ogen home designer seems interesting. Don't think it's a cash grab, just a different take on a game. The board game I'm on the fence over. I'll be getting the cards or Amiibi anyway; as they are big in my house, so why not play the game.
@gatorboi352 I agree. I have a Cronusmax & use the Wii U pro controller on my 360 & PS3. Fyi, I have multiple consoles. I'd use it on PS4, but there is no center touchpad; like the PS4 controller.
@MikeW We don't know yet. That seems to be how it is with the most of Nintendo's games, this gen. Look at MK & Smash. Both getting constant updates. I'd say get Splatoon now.! You're missing the Splatfest events & items (sea snails) you get from them. Also, the community/on-line play is really active now. I'm in US California & get matches at all times of the day(ranked & territory battles).
@Captain_Gonru I'd read a review somewhere that this ran horribly on Vita & not too well on PS3. Supposedly, had issues with deleting save files randomly. The comments section said the mobile version of this game still ran well. Wish I had a link, but it's been a while. I'll get this on the Wii U. Maybe the gamepad will be a good interface.
@Player4 Quality! Quality, son. It's not Nintendo, if there is no quality worth buying. I'll be buying these. Very interested in the new "Account" system.

@shigulicious $3.99 for Gunman Clive? Hell yeah! I thought this would be $9.99. Glad they are bringing the more solid DS titles to a Wii U.

Re: Talking Point: Fatal Frame's Trial Version and Limited Edition Highlight Nintendo's Shifting Approach to Retail
