N-ZAP89 and Octobrush Weapons are Next Up in Splatoon Update

That's nice but I'd rather want some more maps.

Splatoon is turning into Borderlands with all the different weapons!

I've not really clicked with the other Brush and Zapper, but I'll still give them a try once they're released and I'm awake.

Octobrush seems to be my thing.

In before somebody says NOA hasn't released their news yet b/c they are so disorganized after Iwata's passing, b/c, you know, he handled all the day to day daily minutia of everything NOA did all the way from Japan even w/ a 12 hour time zone difference.

New NZAP89 looks nice, like the orange, inkbrush looks less like a mop now, so that's an improvement as well. Don't use either types, but I'll certainly give them a go after Splatfest is over.

How many free updates are there left?
I want to buy this game when everything becomes available...

I hope they release a Super Scope weapon, too. Probably as a blaster.

@bro2dragons I would think it would come as a charger/sniper rifle. I mean, it does have a scope...

Meh, I'm tired of new weapons. I'd rather see more new maps. Moray Towers hardly appears when I play lately.

@DoctorWily Sure, but it's held like a bazooka. It could go either way, but I'd prefer the bazooka-like shots.

Why wait? There is a lot of stuff available already and having weekly content updates keeps it refreshing.

I need to get back into playing this. Nintendo has done a great job of supporting this game.

I'm all about trying out new weapons/load-outs.

What sub weapons & specials come with the new weapons?

I'm curious about what they plan on doing with new gear. Will there be new attributes to them or just different looks?

@bro2dragons that would be cool but I see the super scope more as a charger. It would be nice if they add an intermediate charger with a range in between a squiffer and the splatterscope. It could be the same range as a jet squelcher.

AFAIK the octobrush is defferent from the inkbrush rather than a reskin with different subs and specials.

@MikeW We don't know yet. That seems to be how it is with the most of Nintendo's games, this gen. Look at MK & Smash. Both getting constant updates.
I'd say get Splatoon now.! You're missing the Splatfest events & items (sea snails) you get from them. Also, the community/on-line play is really active now. I'm in US California & get matches at all times of the day(ranked & territory battles).

@MikeW might be another month before all planned content is out. There's still quite a few weapons coming out, one more mode, and I believe another stage. Then August there's going to be a major update with more matchmaking options and team matches. Then of course they still want to support the game so more dlc is likely, I just don't know if it'll be free. So in short you might have to wait a month or so. The game has grown quite a bit, over 1 million copies sold worldwide and it keeps growing, and with all the new weapons it'll take some grinding to be able to purchase them all. The slow rollout has allowed for easier mastery of the game, I feel the rust building from missing just a couple of days play.

@MikeW They might continue to update Splatoon with new content for a year for all we know, and we might never even know when the "final" content update arrives. All we know is that there will be a "big August update" with party matches. The more you wait, the more uphill the battle will be to become really good at Splatoon.

@rjejr Since you're so interested in time zones: NoE tweeted about the weapon at 12:00, London time. NoA tweeted about the new weapons + the Splatfest at 1 PM, Redmond time. That's a 1 hour difference between the NoE and NoA marketing departments.

I wasn't able to connect during the last splat fest, but i herd it was the same 3 stages all day long.

The updates are part of the fun for me. Each time we get a new update the game feels a little bit more fresh.

I'd get the game now before they all stop. Heck with all this on-disk content imagine if they've been crafting actual downloadable content while holding us over with these updates?
