Re: New Immortals Fenyx Rising Narrative DLC Explores Chinese Mythology

TomKnows

I own the base game and dlc on two platforms; Xbox and Switch. Unfortunetly, you have to purchase the dlc on both platforms to get access to it. The game is fun, but I would say it's much easier (or accessible) than BOTW. I'm just commenting this as some may want more challenge. FYI, I'm a Dark Souls player. Anyway, the base game is good. I still have not tried the dlc, but I'm getting around to it. Buy this game. Keep an eye out for sales, if short on money.

Re: New Elder Scrolls: Blades Patch Fixes Minor Switch Related Crash

TomKnows

I don't see what everyone is complaining about. The game is free and a mobile game. Who the hell expects an Elder Scrolls game to be good on mobile. I have this game on my Android and the Switch. It is fun and a typical mobile time waster. You can play it for free, but it is even more "grindy." Don't go in expecting a typical Bethesda game.

Re: Notorious "Video Nasty" Cannibal Holocaust Is Getting An Interactive Sequel On Switch

@smashboy2000 You really should condemn this movie for other reasons. It is an exploitation film. It portrays native people in a way that is incorrect. The animal butchery is an aspect you may not like seeing, but still takes place. I don't like this movie as it portrays native people as being "savages," which was/is far from truth. Maybe at it time in history it could be seen as a good film, but I feel it doesn't really hold up.

Re: Nicalis Publishing "Infinitely Replayable" South Korean Side-Scroller Dungreed On Nintendo Switch

@NImH Rogue-likes are also not my cup of tea. Dead Cells is different in that it does have upgrades, unlockabes (weapons, armor, etc.), and key map locations in the same area. This makes it so that you don’t have to explore & come out “mediocre,” rather than fully upgraded. Other than Dead Cells, I could do without other Rogues.
We’ll see what this game is like.

Re: Danmaku Unlimited 3 Will Fire Onto Nintendo Switch Next Month

TomKnows

@therube Yeah, not unusual for mobile games. Also, I don't think CAVE will be doing any remasters in the future. Ketsui is supposed to be ported to PS4. I'd love it on switch.
I still have an iPad that was never update. That is one of the "problems" of some Apple hardware. I've been told to send it in. But I'll keep it for CAVE games.

Re: Guide: How to Use Two or More Micro SD Cards in Your Switch for Limitless Storage

TomKnows

@Banksie Not really a bad article. I've yet to buy a Switch & was wondering where the save state is stored. I wish someone could comment on if the Memory cards only "allow for display of a certain # of games." Both the Wii U (expanded memory) & cards in the 3DS are limited. Not sure how many on the 3DS, but the Wii U is slightly over 200. Yes, I've filled my Wii U with over that many legit digital games. Really only using 800gb of my 2TB external drive.

Re: Feature: The Big Nintendo Switch Presentation Summary

@Hikingguy As a Vita owner I have something to comment on this. Also, it makes me wonder if Nintendo will have content/games tied to a machine (as in the past) or an account system. The vita & vita TV don't have much memory. It's downfall was proprietary memory. Meaning it will only take Sony's expensive memory. The good of having your own memory is that you can have games on different cards and take them with you. Also, if you have more than one memory, you don't have to worry about it failing and losing all your games. Let's see what Nintendo does. Maybe we'll all just have to have an external usb memory.

Re: Check out the Retro-Bit Generations Launch Trailer

TomKnows

This is an emulation machine. An with such you always get mixed results. From what I've seen/read of the NES Mini, there has been a lot of dedication gone into developing the emulation of it's specific catalogue. That is why we don't have the access to carts or expansion with an SD card. I've preordered the Retro Bit, but no expecting much in quality of visuals or control. We'll see.

Re: Just Dance 2017's Best-Selling Version is on Wii

TomKnows

For anyone interested, I've bought the Wii U version and it is a solid entry. Not the newest music (American version), but a range from 80's to present. FYI, I bought the Wii U digital version, which is the "Gold Edition." This allows you 3 moths of "Just Dance Unlimited," which allows access to on-line streaming of past JD games. Well worth it; I think. But, there is a problem. I only received 2 days of access. There is supposed to be 2 days & a digital code from Ubisoft; to unlock 3 months. I've yet to get this code. I have a ticket outstanding with Ubisoft to amend this. I bought the version 10/29/2016. So, we'll see. Also, this problem (from Ubi's message board) is across the boards. Most prevelant on the Xbox1 platform.

Re: Editorial: Losing It All - When a Wii U's External Hard Drive Dies

TomKnows

OK. Here is my input. The backing up of save files separate from the game may not be something Nintendo wants due to hacking or scum saving. Still, it is a pain to back up the entire game. On the topic of digital games, you should always back up all your digital games. To my knowledge, the Wii U let's you do this. It takes a long time, but should be done. On my PS4 I have had a total of 3 games get "corrupted" so far and had to re-download them. Thank goodness I did have my saves backed up. This is also a common occurrence with certain PS4 games. So, no one is immune (maybe PC, or at least managing this is easier). Both PS4 & Wii U allow you to back up your games, but not Xbox. You should invest in a second hard drive and "copy" or back up your games. This should be done often, but Nintendo needs to make it where you can back up all your library in one step. Right now you have to back up each game individually. On the issues of hard drives, always read as many reviews pertinent to interaction with your product. I have the Toshiba hard drive Nintendo recommended and has been reviewed on gamefaqs & other sources as being "very compatible" with the Wii U. On a tangent and point of interest. I currently have a 2tb external. It has been a waste. Why? well Wii U has a limit on the number of icons "game files" it can display. So, you can download the game and it will show up on your hard drive, but you cannot boot into it. Instead Wii U asks you to delete any "unused software." F**k that. The total GB's to reach the limit for what can be displayed on Wii U is roughly 800GB. So, I will now buy four separate 1TB external hard drives. 2 for my maxed library; one as back up and one to hold the games I'm playing. The other two for my additional Wii U games & it's back up.
