Re: Launching NX Next Year Is The "Proper" Thing To Do, Says Nintendo Boss Tatsumi Kimishima

Toadthefox

This is garbage, the best news we have frim Nintendo is that we have to wait. Let's see, after E3 that sucked last year with almost no content for Wii U and no real games this year except Starfox which was short, now this E3 we may get Zelda, which can be bought on new NX system next year. Nintendo you have failed and have lost my interest. What the hell have they been doing for two years? I don't have a DS, so I was hoping for next system or some suprise Wii U games. I should have know they would mess this up.

Re: Video: A Wii Wave Race Project Got Far Enough to Have Its Own Patents

Toadthefox

I think Nintendo has become famous for killing a lot of ideas that don't fit in their small box of expectations. I think that's why a lot of third parties have just stopped trying to make games for them. I have to say I'm already looking into another console and I haven't had my Wii U for a year. I've played the games I wanted to for the system, but waiting around for other games that peaks my interest on this system is taking a painfully long time. Doesn't help that half their games get delayed.

Re: The Wii U's Broad Audience Means Star Fox Zero's Delay Won't Matter, Says Nintendo UK

Toadthefox

I don't have a problem with them delaying a game. It just gets frustrating how Nintendo makes promises and then goes back on it. Just set a tentative date, and then when you know for sure when it will be released, say so. It feels like so many games are getting delayed on this system. I honestly am disappointed with the limited amount of Catalog the Wii U has, and feel like Nintendo should have more games to offer for how long the system has been out. Sure there are some great games, but there isn't a lot of variety or options.

Re: Nintendo Outlines Its 'Nindie' Plans for Indiecade

Toadthefox

@Captain_Gonru I couldn't agree more. On other systems I have bought games that I might have not bought after trying the demo. There have been games that I knew I was going to buy and tried the demo and I still bought them. The worst feeling is buying a game your unsure of and it being something you don't enjoy. It makes you way more hesitant to purchase that next game without trying it out first. Xbox does a great job having tons of demos for their indie games, and I think it works out. If you at least get the game in peoples hands it is surprising how that can influence them to pick up a game they might have not bought without trying it.

Re: Review: LEGO Dimensions (Wii U)

Toadthefox

I'm usually against these toy to life games. I've seen too many times that kids really get bored of them quickly or that it's so costly for what you actually get. This game is a money pit, and that is for sure. The price for just the character packs seem about $2 higher than competition with providing a smaller toy. However, I think you get a little more content than with Aiimbos and being able to cross transfer the packs with others worlds is cool. I do get all the complaints about this game, and I understand why people feel frustrated with the price point.
However, I think I will end up picking this game up. Why? I think Lego has really hit home with the nostalgic and I think that's why they chose the characters they did. I mean my wife loves Wizard of Oz and it has been a really really long time since any game has been released for this franchise. That already peaked our interest. Then Back to the Future, I'm a big fan of the series and I like that you can actually experience the world and drive a mini Delorean. I can't recall any other games that let you do that. I am also a huge fan of Ghostbusters. While I have played Ghostbuster games I do like the idea of driving the Ecto 1. Also really huge Simpsons fan, so that seems like just another fun area for me. Portal is a great game, and so crazy to see that in Lego form. Also, like the cell shading of Scooby world and driving around the mystery machine. I don't see myself getting all the packs, because some I don't care for or cause I also have other Lego games, so I don't feel I need to get Lord of the Rings, Jurassic Park, or the DC packs.

Another reason I will probably invest in this is due to the let down of Nintendo Wii U titles. There is no big name titles coming out for the holidays for Nintendo. Was thinking about Starfox but that has been pushed back, much like half the upcoming catalog for the WIi U. So it gives me something to play and get into for the holidays with my family.
So I get the complaints, but what I was going to spend on Nintendo titles I have no chosen to spend on this area. Which is also a better way for my family to play a game together for the next couple years at least (depending if they actually keep releasing packs for this version). So I think part of it is what your into, so this just seems to appeal to my family and me more than others.

Re: Feature: Have You Played... ZombiU?

Toadthefox

It's sad that there is absolutely nothing to look forward to, so we have to look at already released games. Granted it's an overlooked game, but it is lame that there is no upcoming games to be excited about.

Re: Freedom Planet Release Bound by Bug

Toadthefox

We just can't get any games for the Wii U. Even when developers try and put them out there is still issues. I'm glad they care to fix it, but the well has run dry on decent games to play for the Wii U.

Re: Freedom Planet Runs into Delay

Toadthefox

It seems like there is alot of delays with games that are suppose to come out. Its bad enough that there isnt much games being offered already. At least this is only a week. Still love the Wii U, but need more games, lol.

Re: Poll: We Want Your Views on Splatoon Version 2.0

Toadthefox

I'm suprised new gear or weapons didnt get chosen as favorites. One of the main reason I get addicted is because of the new gear that you can obtain/unlock. The leveling up is going to happen no matter what, so I don't look to much at this. Glad to see splatfest is popular! Though it would be cool one day if Nintendo let you vote or suggest what the next splatfest is going to be. Last note, got to be a Squid - you can travel so much faster that way!

Re: Review: Legend of Kay Anniversary (Wii U)

Toadthefox

This is definitely on my to buy list. It looks like a lot of fun. It has that cool action platform feel that I miss now a days. Reminds me of an Martial Arts version of Ratchet and Clank. I mean that as a complement (love that series).

Re: Movie Review: Pixels Proves Once Again That Video Games And Film Do Not Make Good Bedfellows

Toadthefox

There was not doubt that the story was the same sloppy and tired story that Adam Sandler has used in countless movies. He's the lovable loser that everything works out perfectly for him and he has his outcast of friends who are over the top. The video graphics were awesome, so there was potential if they had created a better story. The worst part of it was that he wasn't even trying to act, but was just reading the lines and collecting a paycheck. Now "Grandma's Boy" was an awesome video game movie, but it wasn't based on any games but the culture of gaming and making games.

Re: Soapbox: It's A Tragedy That Rare Replay Isn't On A Nintendo Console

Toadthefox

@Ryno Well said! Wish I could play the collection. Nintendo definitely needs to start lowering the price of some of these VC games, at least have sales, or offering bundles like this. We all know they won't, so I'm just glad I have saved the classic games I want via cartridge. How many times with these VC do you have to pay for a game over and over again, lol.

Re: Talking Point: Assessing the Odds of Super Mario Maker Making a Commercial Splash This September

Toadthefox

With the likes of Mario Maker, Splatoon, Mario Kart, Smash Bros., Starfox, Xenoblande Chronicles X there would seem to be enough incentive to get potential customers to at least look the Wii U's direction; however, with all the talk of the NX already coming out soon I'm not sure why someone wouldn't just wait for the next thing around the corner. Especially with the lack of showing of what will coming down the pipeline at E3 for the Wii U. In a way they killed their chance of additional sales by leaving the Wii U out in the dust. Even Wii U owners don't have much to get excited about.

Re: Nintendo Download: 16th July (North America)

Toadthefox

Im just waiting word on Fast Raging Neo, Brave tank hero, and 90s Arcade Racer. Also would like to see Starfox 64, Mariokart 64, or Pilotwings 64 in VC. Don't think lack of content has to do with Iwatas passing, just the summer drought.

Re: Obituary: Satoru Iwata

Toadthefox

He had great insight in making games and systems that people wanted to play and that were fun. Even though the Wii U hasn't sold well I really have enjoyed this system. I took me a while to come around to it, but with the release of games like Splatoon, Mario Kart 8, and Toad's Treasure Tracker this system has really appealed to me above other consoles. Especially with a young son getting into gaming. I also have enjoyed the Miiverse and eshop parts of the console. While the sales don't speak well of the system it really is an incredible piece of hardware, Sure it is behind in the times in the age of tablet, but unique and awesome in it's own way. I pay remembrance and tribute to the man who provided me with countless hours of entertainment and joy personally and also with friends and family (even other gamers across the world with Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon online). Thanks Iwata for being different and remembering gaming is about having fun.

Re: Interview: Splatoon Co-Director Tsubasa Sakaguchi On His Best Weapon, Mastering Gyro Controls And The Future Of Nintendo's Freshest IP

Toadthefox

Also, obviously the next game needs to have more customization. For one, i dont care for the boy pony tail. They as well need to have more selections at a given time in the shops. As far as gameplay I have no complaints, three min matches work for me and to me any longer would be overkill. Though having options for those who do want it could work.

Re: Splatoon Amiibo Scheduled to be Restocked in Japan

Toadthefox

The problem is that by the time they get the aiimbos restocked for Splatoon in North America the Nintendo NX may be out and people won't be interested them anymore, lol. Though Capn Cuttlefish, Judd, and squid sisters seem like good aiimbos. Even the shop keeps would be good aiimbos.

Re: Talking Point: Raw Power Isn't Vital to Nintendo's NX, But It Does Matter

Toadthefox

The problem is the higher ups of Nintendo are too busy on their high horse to provide or pay attention to what gamers want. So I need to pay another 200 for a system that still is inferior and could be gimmickie, not looking positive to me. Though thanks for leaving hanging the ones who paid 300 for Wii U with the lack of game content, but plenty of Aiimbos. They are really going to have to have an incredible line up to get me interested and not just a handful of games.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo NX Won't Be As Powerful As PlayStation 4

Toadthefox

I'm sure we all know that Nintendo is on the same level when it comes to competing on a graphics and power level. I'm sure they have some innovation up there sleave. I'm sure its a tie in with 3d graphics, or putting virtual reality into their gaming (even though they say it's not the time).

Re: Project H.A.M.M.E.R. Exposé Reveals Torrid State Of Affairs At Nintendo Software Technology

Toadthefox

I remember being very excited about this title after hearing about it in 2006. It's such a shame that Nintendo doesn't trust their game developers and just need to let go of their tight reigns. Not everything has to be so cutesy. I afraid the same is going to be said for Project Giant Robot. It's crazy because they were surprised how well Splatoon has done, and they may be surprised how well these others projects would do if they release some control and just let a variety of games be made. Nintendo needs to stop relying solely on their hallmark games alone, there is ways to expand what Nintendo is in a positive light! Let go of some control, I know it's scary, but it will be ok and it is for the best interest of the company and the gamers!

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Approach to Transforming Franchises Clashes With Fan Expectations

Toadthefox

The problem is that this is a new Nintendo system and we want the main titles for the system, not some off shoot. You can add those games afterwards, and they could be fun. However, they need to do a better job at giving people who buy their system the main game they want, and then work on off shoots. Think how Toad's Treasure Hunter was well received because we already got a Nintendo 3D world. Give people an Animal Crossing, then givie them board game. As far as Starfox goes I really can't judge the game until I've played it. It just seems like it came out with limited content and limited graphics, so it does seem like the Starfox I was hoping for. I felt like this would be an eshop game and a better one would come out after that. I'm not blind to say it could be amazing, but I need to see more.

Re: 90's Arcade Racer

Toadthefox

I'm ready for this game to be out. Love the 90's arcade racers, and this one looks exceptional. Very much want to be playing this game soon!!!
