Indie developer TACS Games has kindly sent us a brand new trailer for his upcoming Wii U eShop title Factotum, and we're really digging the "BBC Sci-Fi" vibe.
Looking and sounding like a cross between the cult sci-fi sitcom Red Dwarf and the equally funny Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Factotum places you in the role of an engineer on a doomed spaceship. Using the ship's aging but still functional Walker Robot, you have to successfully pass through 30 stages in order to restore the ship's failing power system.
Have a look at the trailer and tell us what you think. And remember: Don't Panic.

This appeals to me a lot. Looks really nice.
This looks like a smegging good game to guzzle down 42 Pan Galactic Gargle Blasters to.
@RantingThespian I think I love you.
That does look nice. If there's some good dialogue going over things then it could be a real standout title.
This looks really interesting. I will be watching it.
@RantingThespian top notch.
Red Dwarf AND Hitchhiker's? That's a lot of clever and funny and fish out of water to live up to.
Last time I read a book that declared "better than Red Dwarf" I was disappointed, but not as much as I was expecting.
There is a lot of 80's nostalgia emanating from this video!
I'll get my towel
@Damo We should go see a match of Brockian Ultra Cricket together! I hear there is a match on Magrathea. Shall I book a cabin on the Starship Titanic? It should be crashing into my house any day now.
@RantingThespian Invite Slartibartfast along and you have a deal!
@Damo I'll ask, but he may be busy with Beautiful Coastlines and Intricate Fjords.
I'll get this for sure. I'll also pretend that the little robot is a scutter preparing to paint the walls from Ocean grey to Military grey
This has a retro portal feel to it. It definitely appealing. I hope to see more!
I had to watch the video muted, not sure how it is like Red Dwarf or Hitchhikers Guide likely due to no sound, or my general knowledge of both, which is almost none, but what I saw was interesting to say the least. As @Toadthefox mentioned, I got a retro-portal feel from it, and that's never a bad thing. I'm curious if this will do cool things with the gamepad.
Liked the song in the trailer. I wanna try it. Hope they aren't all dead, Dave.
Wasn't Red Dwarf pretty much a rip-off of Hitchhiker's anyway?
Red Dwarf was great. Glad to have caught it on PBS here in the USA back in the late 90s. It's on Netflix streaming, or was recently. I daresay it was funnier than Hitchhiker's Guide (the books) because of the brilliant cast.
