Oh yeah, I forgot about GameSeek's low pre-order cost. It seems like such a long time ago when we were in the dark about the Switch. I remember @therealgamer claims about how he was a real game dev and that the Switch would be $199 and out of March 17th. Heh, good times.
Glad to see they're fulfilling the pre-order cost though, not many stores would do that.
@erv Thank you. Someone agrees with me. The Pro Controller seems pretty unnecessary, yet everyone talks about the price as if it makes or breaks the Switch.
@impurekind First of all, making a game takes time and planning. It's not like you can predict exactly when your system and a game will be ready and hold one back or rush one of them to package the game with the system. Second, not everyone likes 3D Mario. Many do, but not everyone, and they may feel alienated having to pay more for a game they do not want. Speaking of that, the price could not stay at $300 if packaged with the game. It would go up to at least $350, which would make people cry "It's too expensive!"
So don't rant about this. You should be thankful we're getting an open-world Mario at all. We could've had 3D World 2.
Definitely getting Fast Racing RMX in March, and probably Sonic Mania when that comes out, but otherwise I'm not too intrigued by the third party games so far. However, Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove is an instant buy, even though I own Shovel Knight on three different platforms already.
Really? Miiverse was not that good in the slightest, and this is coming from someone with over 950 posts on there. It was especially bad if you were there to see the slow deterioration of the off-topic communities. Plus, when has an online petition ever worked, in the history of the Internet?
Ah, this reminds me of the presidential election. Two sides viciously fighting each other when really, neither side will change the other's opinion in the slightest.
@Yorumi Your opinion is well grounded for the most part, but you are coming off a bit aggressive. Lighten up.
But, yeah, I'm still hyped for the Switch, and it seems others are too. My local GameStop, which is in a very isolated spot, is out of pre-orders, so evidently someone wants the Switch. The battery life is fine, 2.5-6 hours being more than I ever expected. The paid online is acceptable, I won't get it and will be fine without it if Splatoon 2 has CPU battles. The specs look great, and overall the console looks better than the Wii U ever could be.
This is a lot of debate over such an inconsequential thing as a video game console.
I gotta say, I really loved it. In fact, the only things I didn't like were 1, 2, Switch and the paid online, but I can get over those. Arms looks pretty cool, Xenoblade is really great, FIFA is something I can shut up my friends with, Mario Odyssey looks incredible, Splatoon 2 looks nice, but they should've called it Spla2n, and Breath of the Wild is just....breathtaking (pun intended)
The Switch looks incredible, I'll probably preorder it, and I'm definitely getting it Day 1.
I feel like a bunch of people are just throwing out rumors before the Switch presentation, in hopes that at least one will be confimed and they can say they were right.
Looks great. I just got the first game during the Steam Winter Sale, and so far it's great when you do the mode without cutscenes. The story....isn't so good.
I don't get why some of you guys in the comments get so worked up over rumors like these. It seems that you either believe everything these people say or you completely disagree. There's no middle ground, but there should be. If you don't believe them, just wait for official information and ignore these articles, or politely state your opinion without getting so hostile. On the other hand, if you believe them, you can still just say your opinion nicely, but don't preach their leaks like they are confirmed facts.
I really don't care about rumors anymore, but people here get so worked up about them that I just wanted to rant. These seem true, at least, but they are admittedly pretty safe rumors.
And yes, I went on this verbose rant while my profile picture is of Pikachu licking ketchup. (Pokémon) Go figure.
Yeah, I just registered for the Global Link a couple days ago, and it was really a hassle. It was obvious that this would fail.
Speaking of online in Sun and Moon, why did Game Freak take away the PSS?! That was an amazing addition to Pokemon and streamlined online so much. Now it shares space with a Join Avenue successor, when they easily could have been separate. That, in my opinion, is one of the biggest flaws of Sun and Moon.
This list just reminds me of how many games I still need to buy. Dragon Ball Fusions, Star Fox Zero, Fast Racing Neo, Color Splash, Mario Maker 3DS, Yokai Watch, Twilight Princess HD, Fire Emblem Fates, the list goes on and on. And with the Switch on the horizon I can't really afford them either.
Of course someone has already mocked Mr. "Gen 1 baby!". :^)
Oh, whatever. This is pretty cool, I guess. I like how they're going slow with the rollout of Gen 2. It'll prevent the servers from being overloaded. I imagine that they'll put all of the unevolved Gen 2 Pokemon into eggs, then into the wild, then put all the evolved Pokemon into the wild.
Nah, just kidding. I really like the Switch's name, and I'm so happy that Nintendo stopped the Wii branding. Makes it seem like they're not banking on the Wii's success, because face it, that's not happening again. I'm really excited for the Switch.
And yes, that "click" sound from the trailer is the stuff of dreams.
Just waiting for @therealgamer to say that he knew this because he is a "real developer" who knows everything and is not just a random guy on a Nintendo Life comment section.
Both of these were expected. The Old 3DS can only run single-player in 30 FPS. If they did multiplayer, it would go down to around 15 FPS. They don't really deter me from buying this for the portability.
@DragonEleven That feature is pretty useless in my experience. I put six Pokémon in there for the max amount of time I could (around 40 hours) and only one of my Pokémon levelled up.
I'm buying this even though I own the Wii U version because I barely ever create courses anyway, and the prospect of playing Mario Maker courses on the go is exciting. A bit disappointed that you can't transfer 3DS courses to the Wii U though.
And what do you know, a commercial for the game came on right as I was typing this.
@therealgamer No, it doesn't prove anything. This is GameSeek's chosen price and a placeholder date, nothing official. And your horrific use of the English language does not help your credibility.
@kickerofelves I wouldn't worry too much about a Switch Pro. Nintendo doesn't usually do that for home consoles, and since the Switch will presumably have the price of a home console, they probably won't make a revision.
@RainbowGazelle @LeRaposa Oh, I didn't know it was like that on Old 3DS. On my New 3DS it runs perfectly fine, save a few minor slowdown issues in intense cutscenes. I still think the game is great.
@RainbowGazelle What are you talking about? Pokemon S/M are amazing games, possibly the best Pokemon games yet. They're beautiful, fun, and run perfectly fine on my 3DS.
@Clownshoes Woah, calm down. He wasn't saying TPHD was the worst game ever, he was just stating his opinion. And no, TPHD is not the best game this year, and is in fact a pretty mediocre game.
The game looks good, and I suppose a flat fee is better than paying a bunch for microtransactions. Super Mario Run probably won't reach Pokemon Go levels of popularity, but I think it'll sell pretty well.
I was going to get it closer to Christmas, but I'm probably going to get it whenever I can with this shortage. I mean, c'mon Ninty, you've done this before. I get that maybe you underestimated the sales, but you can do better than this.
@Link506 I don't get what you mean by "removing core features". To my knowledge, they've only removed the tracking system, which was already broken, to put in an improved one, and playing at high speeds (in a car, bus, train, etc), which they never wanted players to do in the first place.
And yes, a lot of it is just noise. It's websites that write Pokemon Go stories for clicks grabbing at straws by mentioning it as much as possible.
I can't believe it has taken them this long to test the new tracking feature. It's been, what, 2 or 3 months?
Anyways, I still think Pokemon Go is a great game and one of the best mobile games I've played. It had a rough start but it seems to be shaping up. I just hope Niantic gives me a reason to play soon. I still have it on my phone, so get to it Niantic!
I love the Wii U very dearly, but I have to say that Nintendo got what it deserved when it comes to the Wii U. The lack of third parties or advertising, the name, the (sometimes) lackluster first party games, and the entire fact that the console seems to depend on the Wii for it's success all led to its demise. Even the main point of the console seems half baked, as the GamePad cannot go that far from the console. I don't even think that the console will be vindicated by history. It was just a badly executed product, and while I don't regret my purchase, I hope the Switch will fare better in the console market.
This might actually tempt me to buy a new New 3DS. My current one recently fell down a flight of stairs and now the R-button is broken, which is really annoying, but I was unsure about investing in a new one with the Switch on the horizon. (It didn't break anything else though. I swear Nintendo makes their consoles out of titanium or something)
These designs look really awesome! This probably the first generation where I'm torn between all three starters. I'm probably going to pick Rowlet though, because Ghost/Grass is a cool type combo.
I'm surprised more people aren't mentioning the Battle Tree. It seems like a really interesting idea.
As for the Guardians and Cosmog, meh, they're alright.
Overall these games look to be the biggest Pokemon games yet, and I can't even contain my hype.
This, while the name is pretty strange, looks amazing. I can barely put into words my excitement. It's everything I had hoped it would be. It's the ultimate form of the Wii U. I'm just...wow Ninty....just wow.
I want to see the dang thing first, then maybe get a few games announced for it, and get a price for it. But truthfully, I'm too hyped to be disappointed with this announcement.
Rowlet's final evolution looks kind of strange. I don't really like it. The other two are okay I guess. I'm betting on the trio being Fire/Fighting, Water/Fairy, and Grass/Flying, though I'm still hoping for two different final evolutions for them. The new Alola forms look cool, but I'm really worried that they will only be for Gen 1 Pokémon, which in my opinion is a big waste. I don't even know what to think about the new Ultra Beasts.

I'm surprised a lot of people don't like ARMS. I'm quite hyped for it. It seems like the ultimate evolution of Wii Sports Boxing, and I love it.
