Re: Feature: The Biggest Nintendo Switch Retail Games of 2017 - Summer Edition

ThomGee

Hoo boy, there's a lot of games I want. I'm definitely buying Spla2n, Pokken, Xenoblade, and Mario Odyssey. I'll probably get Fire Emblem Warriors, Sonic Forces, and Xenoverse 2. Rayman Legends is a maybe, but I'll probably pick it up digitally. Mario and Rabbids is also a maybe, though I'm leaning more on the no side. FIFA and NBA are almost definitely no's, as I do not enjoy sports games, but I might pick up one of them for my friends and I to play.
Then, of course, there's digital games. I'm definitely getting Sonic Mania, might get Shantae: Half Genie Hero and Azure Striker Gunvolt: Striker Pack, and there's a small chance I'll buy Minecraft.

I said back in March that my wallet was going to implode by 2018. At this point, I don't think my wallet will make it to 2018.

Re: Former Nintendo Staffer Giles Goddard Would Love To Make A New F-Zero

ThomGee

Truthfully, I don't get the hubbub around F-Zero. It seems to be a pretty generic racing game. I don't really care if Nintendo brings it back. We have Fast RMX and 200cc in MK8. And I can tell for sure that many people here saying "Just do GX with nicer graphics and online play" would criticize that exact game as being too similar to GX.

Re: First Impressions: Prepping for Round Two with Pokkén Tournament DX

ThomGee

@SLIGEACH_EIRE Why should Wii U owners be given a discount? If you don't want the port, which admittedly is pretty low on new content, don't buy it. Many people skipped out on Pokken as it came so late in the Wii U's lifespan, and many people didn't even buy a Wii U. This is for them, not specifically for vanilla Pokken's owners to upgrade to. Plus, it's now portable, which is awesome.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of the Pokémon Direct and Its Big Reveals?

ThomGee

I thought it was pretty good. Not anything incredible, but it was fine. I'm excited for Pokken DX. Pokken was one of the games I most wanted for the Switch, so this is a great announcement.

I might just skip out on Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon if they are more third version than sequel. However, if they turn out to be full-fledged games, I'll be all for them. I never wanted Stars, nor found it likely it would ever be on Switch, so I'm not disappointed. Moral of this, I suppose, is to not let rumors make your hype skyrocket to unnecessary levels.

I didn't get Red, Blue, or Yellow on VC, and have HGSS for all my Johto needs, so I'll definitely skip our on GS, but I do know a lot of people wanted it. There's a market for it.

Re: Pokkén Tournament DX Confirmed For Nintendo Switch

ThomGee

Exactly what I expected, and I'm happy about it. Now I can throw my Wii U in the trash. The Switch has got all the games I still play on it.

What exactly did you guys expect? Pokémon Stars? We got Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, which, while stupid names, are basically Pokémon Stars. Also, it's almost E3. If Nintendo announced their big hitters now, you'd all complain later. Geez, you can't win with fans.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo Is Ramping Up Switch Production For This Fiscal Year

ThomGee

If the Switch sells 18 million by March 2018, I'll eat my own shoe. It won't, that's just way too much. I do think it'll get to at least 7 million by that time, maybe even beat the Wii U's sales, but not sell 18 million. It's good that they're ramping up production though, but if I'm to believe some people, there are spare Switches on every street corner.

Re: The ARMS Global Testpunch Begins On May 26th

ThomGee

I liked this game from its reveal in January, but it gets better and better. I was worried it would be kind of vanilla with its modes, but now I'm happy with its variety. However, I'm kind of disappointed that they went with the Testfire route instead of the standard demo. Splatoon made sense using it, as it's pretty much only online, but ARMS has an offline mode. I'm fine with it, though, considering there is a demo at all.

Anyways, does anyone know when the Testpunch will be on the eShop?

Re: New Nintendo 2DS XL Announced, Releases 28th July

ThomGee

Why? Just, why?

It's unnecessary, pricey, and overall not a good idea. Also, now Switch detractors can say that Nintendo doesn't care about it, which may be the case seeing as this was revealed. Also, why XL? A smaller size would be much better for the budget audience they are marketing too.

This is the first time since E3 2016 that I can't find anything positive about some Nintendo news.
