Fingers crossed for Splatoon 1, that soundtrack is so classic.

As a guy with some pretty severe vision issues, this is a common thing with Switch games. I’ve long accepted there are just some games I cannot read in handheld mode. Even just menu options can be hard sometimes. I wish devs would consider this more.

I think the art style is cute tbh. its an update of the gen 4 games, which is better than them ruining the style like people assumed they would. im very excited for these.

I literally bought Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum 'n' Fun immediately before watching the Direct, only for them to announce another game. Glad I never bought Puyo Puyo Tetris though, so I'll definitely check out the sequel. Might buy Kingdom Hearts, but I'm still undecided.

Ah, this makes a lot more sense. I remember that article about the trilogy of Tetris sci-fi movies and thought it was really weird. This is a movie I would actually see.

Even just those would be amazing, but the SNES has so many great games that it'd be a crime not to put more on.

Looks good. It'll definitely be good for younger kids coming from a 3DS. The Switch Lite is to the Switch what the 2DS is to the 3DS anyway, and the 2DS sold really, really well. It's just extending the brand more. My one concern is with the battery life, which still won't be very good.

As for everyone saying that this is a downgrade and that they're staying with their regular Switches, yeah, of course you are. This isn't for you. This is a "Lite" version. Nintendo doesn't expect anyone to switch to this, they want a completely different audience. Of course they removed TV Mode and made it smaller, this is aimed towards handheld gamers.

I'm pretty certain we'll see a Switch Pro at some point, but I'd probably peg it's release for sometime next summer, before the PS5 and Xbox Scarlett release.

Well, yeah. I doubt Sony's considered Nintendo a real competitor since at least the Wii, maybe even the GameCube. Nintendo relies on first party and indie games and isn't in the graphics war Microsoft and Sony are in. Nintendo's doing great with the Switch, but that isn't a direct competitor to the PS4 or Xbox. It's a relatively underpowered hybrid system that compliments the other two if anything.

I just picked up Boxboy + Boxgirl and have been playing it. It's an easy game, no doubt, but it's so calming and cute that I just love it. I'm also trying to clear out my backlog a bit, so I'm playing through the Crash N'sane Trilogy. The only problem is that Crash 2 is super hard, to the point where I really don't want to play it.

Anyway, I ordered an Xbox One S during the E3 sale (I know, sacrelige), so I'll probably be busy with that for the rest of the summer. Maybe I'll buy Mario Maker 2, but I doubt my wallet could take it.

@AlbertXi Well, the Pokemon anime has always done this. Multiple episodes have been banned from air in the U.S. for violence or inappropriate themes, many back in the first season.

@Tempestryke This situation is different. Those systems were clearly home consoles and handhelds, while the Switch is both. Also, technology has improved to the point where we can have something like the Switch, while handhelds in the past were clearly less powerful than consoles. Third, you can't really say the 3DS and Wii U co-existed. The 3DS was wildly successful and got tons of games, while the Wii U went through game droughts every year.

One big advantage of the Switch is that Nintendo only has to focus on one system, but still has both a handheld and console experience. A 3DS successor goes against that for no reason, especially since it doesn't really make sense to buy. Why buy a handheld system when you can buy a system that plays console-level games on the go? If you want a cheaper system, make a Switch Mini for $150.

If Nintendo wanted to create a "Switch ecosystem" of a powerful "Switch Plus," the Switch, and a handheld-only "Switch Mini," that would be cool. A 3DS successor just does not make sense.

Do you mean the Rapid Blaster Pro Deco? There is no Rapid Blaster Elite in the game, unless I missed it.

Jokes aside, the mention of Mario Tennis Aces specifically makes me think it will be out in April.

Would this also work with Bluetooth headphones, or is it just controllers? I find it incredibly annoying that I can't use my headphones with my Switch.

This title is slightly misleading. It makes it sound as if Nintendo is abandoning the Switch's ideas after the Switch has run its course. The title should probably be something like "Nintendo has no plans for a Switch Mini/Plus, sources claim."

Disregarding that, I am really shocked that the Switch is reaching these sales so early! I expected it to do well, but not to nearly match the Wii U's sales in less than a year. At this rate I can see it passing the N64 in sales and maybe even hitting those wild sales numbers analysts say it will reach. Good job Nintendo, and I swear, if you drop the ball after this kind of momentum, I will lose my marbles.

I just downloaded AM2R, so I'm playing that, but other than that I'm playing Mario + Rabbids and Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. I may pick up Metroid Fusion and Golf Story this weekend, and I'll probably play Spla2n for the Splatfest.

Guys, why are you complaining about the lack of additions? We got stability, for Pete's sake! It's the most important addition we could ask for! I, for one, will be telling the story of when I first heard of this influx of pure stability into the Switch, creating the ingredients for the perfect, most stable system on the market for ages! Soon, it may even pass the 3DS in terms of stability, making it the new god of stability.

I'll definitely get this eventually, but I have way too many games to buy at the moment to spend $40 on two ports. Now excuse me as I wait for two ports to release in September.

It seems like Nintendo is shutting off the other servers besides the main Nintendo Network to save money. I assume the main servers will stay up until 2018, but they could stay up longer if Nintendo wants to prolong the 3DS's lifespan even more. It doesn't really matter to me, as I never use my Wii U now and my 3DS was only being used for Miiverse, but I hope it stays up for other people who don't want to upgrade to the Switch. Besides, shutting off the servers for Wii U and 3DS would be horrible PR for Nintendo and probably wouldn't convince many people to upgrade.

I'm surprised by all the negativity towards Sun and Moon. I thought they were the best Pokemon games yet, and most people seemed to agree before and immediately after it released.

Anyways, these games do look kind of disappointing. We still don't even know if they're true sequels or not, and it seems very rushed out. I might skip these, but knowing the huge Pokemon nerd I am, I probably won't.

I'm surprised this weapon is being released so early. I thought they may save it for a big 2.0 update. I'm pretty happy about this simply because it's a new weapon and not a re-skin like I thought it would be.
