@Heavyarms55 for the first time, the PS4 digital sales surpassed the physical with 53% of the games being sold were digital, probably thanks to the huge deals that were on lately but

I personally ok with that as I buy both physical and digital, depending on the game but I do have more digital as I like indies and all those 90-95% off cool indie games are very tempting

I now realize the the PS4 sold 3.2 million compared to the only 2.1 million of the Switch
How did that happen? What did I miss? Every major market I saw the switch was always at the top by far

Anyway, it is probably also duo to bigger expenses as in the las 3 months they created a new studio under Monolith Soft, putting money to the Nintendo park in universal Japan (and I think another one in Orlando) that will open up sometimes soon, building several physical and online stores over the world like in Japan, Israel and other places probably and they are expanding and hiring many people in the past 2 years (more than 1000 new employees in the last 2 years which was above 20% increase and the numbers keep on growing

They know what they are doing as it seems

@Dellybelly it is actually a big year on year growth
This quarter last year it sold only 1.88 million at this quarter
So they shouldn’t be worried about their goal for now with the stupidly amazing backlog coming for the rest of the year

@Heavyarms55 Pokémon sword and shield will sit in the top 5 easily, Animal crossing will break the 10 million as well, probably really fast
MM2 will probably hit 10 as well, I know it’s sale became much stronger in Japan on its second week compared to the first one and it probably happened in other places as well

Really hoped to see Bayonetta(at least one of them break the million.... this franchise deserves it

Remember it is a marvel based game, nobody care about marvel in Japan, they are not reading comics (as manga is far superior this days, especially for the Japanese market) and they aren’t really watching the marvel movies
The last game on the series sold just a bit more than that in Japan and it was on about every system in the market at the time, this is a game founded by Nintendo, and is supposed to appeal to western audiences, not Japanese

The are actually 8 games that are not available on the PS4 and Xbox and 11 not available on the switch

But comparing the switch in the uk to to the other system install base is unfair, and yet the switch has 3 of the top 5 as exclusives

@westman98 it sold ok in Japan for a marvel game (they are not big on comics after all) and without the prime day thing it will probably be the best seller in the uk as well

@NotTelevision if dragon quest 11 will sell better on the switch that any other system it will be huge for the series and Nintendo
MUA has an amazingly large hype that I didn’t expect ( I believe it will sell more than the “avengers project” for the PS4) and its exclusive nature will turn it into a system seller
Links awakening will really sell well and FE3H will probably take the GOTY for strategy game

But.... Astral Chains baby!!!! I will definitely buy this thing, and many believe it will take the GOTY!

55 thousands in a week is still pushing the switch sales very very high!
In out selling the PS4 in Japan by 280 thousands already, until the end of the year it will probably be by a million for the standard (I consider the better battery life a standard as well as it will replace the current model) if not more!

we just got the official internet store lately and it isn’t full currently, but we got a physical store which is amazing and an e-shop will be up soon

I guess they think that because the switch mini will probably sale tons of hardware (maybe even few millions world wide) in It’s first couple of weeks, and a lot of it in Japan, they think they will want to try the game as a cheaper 2nd game
