UK chart data is now in for the week ending 20th July, revealing that new Switch exclusive Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order has managed to secure second place in its debut week.
The game pushes last week's winner Super Mario Maker 2 down to third position, but it's Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled which has returned to number one. Crash, along with plenty of other titles at the top of the charts, appears to have benefitted from last week's Amazon Prime Day sales; UKIE reports that the top 40 is filled with Prime Day promoted titles.
Here's a look at this week's top twenty all formats chart:

I am somewhat interested to see where Fire Emblem ends up when it releases. It is nice to see Nintendo titles have a little more staying power in the UK now.
Good to see Breath of the Wild there.
5 Switch exclusives in the top 20 along with another 3 games that are on the Switch. Nice.
The list shows there isn’t much new to play on any system.
@WOLF13 or that lots of Switch consoles are selling and new buyers are buying the top rated games
@jcvandan so that applies to all systems?
Good! MUA3 deserves all the love. The game is a blast, I just started new game+ on superiour difficulty.
Mariokart is the new GTA V. It will still be in the top 20 in 2025 unless Nintendo releases Mariokart 8 deluxe deluxe running at 4K/120fps (or MK9?) on the Switch 2
@WOLF13 well yeah, Ps4 and Xbox have been out a long time so they won't be selling anywhere near as many consoles. Plus the back catalogs are much bigger. If a million Switch consoles sold in the last month then you have a million people buying Mario Odyssey and BOTW because they're 2 of the best games every made, so they're bound to be in the top.
60% of the British top 10 are available on a Nintendo platform, half of them are platform exclusives.
@WOLF13 if your blind then sure.
I'm not really interested in that game due too many other good games and some marvel fatigue, but good to hear that the positive impressions are also shown as sales.
PS4 will have some heavy hitters later with Medievil, Death Stranding, Cyberpunk, and groan COD. Until then it’s Switch O’Clock.
Those Amazon Prime Day sales boosts are massive.
Decent MUA3 debut.
That is great! MUA3 is a very fun game.
@Mrbayram92 ‘you’re’. If older games dominate the chart, it means better games haven’t been released.
It's good but it does also show that 10, maybe 11, of the top 20 aren't even available on the Switch. By contrast only 5 aren't available on PS4 and they're all Nintendo exclusives so that's a foregone conclusion. And we're also seeing very recently released games at the top only because the only other big games in the list are often from months ago, even years ago in some cases. That's not an anti-Nintendo thing, it applies across the board.
MUA3 is a must-have if you're a fan of Marvel and video games actually being video games, instead of simply interactive experiences.
@WOLF13 there's like 5 games that have been out a few weeks in the top 10
When was the last time GTA V wasn't in the top 10? I certainly can't remember.
My prediction for Fire Emblem: Three Houses is a top-3 finish.
Thats darn nice to see. Glad it turned out good, and is selling well. Cant wait to snag it.
> MUA3 sold around ~11,000 retail copies at launch on the Switch.
> MUA2 sold ~14,500 copies at launch across PS3/360/Wii/NDS/PSP
Will be interesting to see MUA3's digital sales and legs (Nintendo should provided this info if MUA3 ships 1+ million copies by the end of September). MUA2 didn't have any of those and faded into irrelevance soon after release.
@WOLF13
The top 3 were all released in the last 5 weeks. After that it’s a lot of Prime Day discounted games. TBH it’s more movement than you often get during the summer lull.
@WOLF13 Yip the dying embers of the 8th generation, time 4 Scarlett, Switch 2 and PS5 to liven the scene up...
Crash isn't going down without a fight.
It seems that Nintendo really starting the get a hold in the UK
Good for them to finally compete there
@westman98 it sold ok in Japan for a marvel game (they are not big on comics after all) and without the prime day thing it will probably be the best seller in the uk as well
The are actually 8 games that are not available on the PS4 and Xbox and 11 not available on the switch
But comparing the switch in the uk to to the other system install base is unfair, and yet the switch has 3 of the top 5 as exclusives
Wow, I was not sure if there was still love for MUA but sure enough.
Looking forward to Sword and Shield dropping, selling millions and all the haters crying, giving in, and buying the game anyway.
Also Fire Emblem in just a few more days! Can hardly wait!
@nhSnork Love the Gladiator picture and quote
Looks like it was a good call for Nintendo to snag MUA3 as an exclusive, I plan to get it soon.
MUA3 is great, so far I'm loving it! I think because there has been some time between 2 & 3 and with the Switch exclusivity that helps as well.
