Re: Poll: Are You Bothered By The Frame Rate For Paper Mario: TTYD On Switch?

Tanookduke

People are blowing the frame rate debate of this game out of proportion. The haters believe that since the game came out on GC with 60 fps, the switch remake should be at 60 fps too. And that side has some valid points, like the super mario rpg remake being 60 fps and other more intensive games hitting 60 fps too.

The other side believes that 30 fps is fine, especially if it can't run at a stable 60 without compromises (links awakening remake and pennys big breakaway). Considering the visual improvements of the remake, this side is fine with sacrificing framerate for visuals.

Overall we don't know why Nintendo made the remake run at 30 fps. But the important thing is to not judge this "book" by its cover.

If you're a fan on the original and don't like how the switch remake runs, don't just toss it aside as bad, wait till people get their hands on it and see their views! It might encourage you to buy the remake and see that the lower framrate wasn't that bad.
If you're a fan of rpgs and want to play this game, don't let this discourse discourage you from giving this game a try. Framerate isn't a deal breaker for every game.

Also NL, PLEASE don't milk the Framerate discourse about this game. Thank you

Re: Video: Luigi's Mansion 2 HD Side-By-Side Graphics Comparison (Switch & 3DS)

Tanookduke

Is it just me or do I like the 3ds version's graphics more? Granted the switch version does look great in HD but to me it looks like lugis mansion 3 models in dark moon levels, especially lugi. It almost looks like lugi doesn't fit in the switch version because of how much detail he has compared to the angular designs of the mansions!

I won't double dip and buy this version (unless it has new content) but I'm happy that more people will be able to play this game now, even if it's not that great.

Re: Poll: What Score Would You Give To The Super Mario Bros. Movie?

Tanookduke

I give the movie between an 8 and an 8.5 out of 10. It's definitely a good movie, an even better one if you get the game references. But I feel that it could have been, and should have been, great considering all the reference material illumination and nintendo could draw from.

It was so close to being great in my opinion, but it never reached that point.

Re: Talking Point: What Makes A Really Good Demo?

Tanookduke

A demo in my opinion should be enough to let someone interested in the game get a good bit of it, while letting long time fans know what they're in for.

And while there are some exceptions I feel like if the demo doesn't show enough then it leaves the consumer without enough information to make a decision on buying the game.

I played the cerza and the lost demon demo 2 weeks ago and it left me feeling that way, draining me of my excitement for the game. It was filled with so much dialog that I Barely got a good feel for the game and decided to put off my purchase until this summer. If it was only an hour longer..
