Re: Poll: A Week On, How Do You Feel About the Nintendo Switch?

Superzone13

Got a Switch preordered with Zelda. This is definitely the most excited I've been for a new console since the Wii.

I know the launch lineup isn't stellar, but Zelda and Super Bomberman R will be enough to keep me happy until Mario Kart 8 Deluxe comes out in April. Then E3 is just right around the corner after that, which I'm sure will feature tons of great new announcements. I think the Switch will actually end up having a strong 2017 when it's all said and done.

Re: Talking Point: What We'd Like To See In Super Smash Bros. For Nintendo Switch

Superzone13

I think it's safe to say the Switch version of Smash Bros. will be the definitive experience of the game. Nintendo will include plenty of additional content to entice current owners of the game to get this new one.

My personal wish list for the Switch version:

All the stages and modes from both the Wii U and 3DS versions

Ice Climbers! And of course any other new characters.

Plenty of new stages, including some more classics from Smash 64, Melee and Brawl

More music is always welcome

Re: Poll: The Wii U is Four Years Old, But What Is Its Legacy?

Superzone13

I've had my Wii U since launch day, and I've been with it through thick and thin. My (basically final) thoughts on the console are that it was an underutilized and underappreciated gem.

Without a doubt, it's Nintendo worst console to date (unless we count the Virtual Boy), but that's not necessarily the fault of the console itself. Nintendo is to blame for not releasing a steady amount of great games (there was A LOT of downtime between most of the top game releases) and also ignoring some of their best series, like Metroid and F-Zero. The consumers are to blame as well for not supporting third party games enough, which ultimately scared off developers and left the Wii U as basically a Nintendo games-only system. Nintendo also made some very questionable decisions over the lifetime of the console too, such as not having a unified account system that allowed cross-buy with 3DS Virtual Console games.

With all of that said, I thought the Wii U was a good console. It has some of the best games released in the last few years and I really got my money's worth out of it.

Re: Nintendo Drops The Ban Hammer on Pokémon Sun and Moon Pirates

Superzone13

Good to hear. Glad Nintendo is issuing the ban hammer over this.

I will never understand why people think it's ok to pirate and/or steal games. Developers work their butts off to make these games and people just steal them and spit in their faces. I have no sympathy whatsoever for anyone that had their 3DS online functionality bricked over this. Serves them right.

Re: Poll: Retro Delights and Stock Shortages - What Are Your Thoughts on the NES Mini Launch?

Superzone13

I'm currently about as frustrated as I've ever been with Nintendo, and I've been a fan since I was old enough to hold a controller in the early 90s. These stock shortages the last few years have really started to straight up piss me off. I searched every local store this past Friday, but I couldn't get one, because each store got freaking 6 of them. Then I tried to buy one on Amazon the exact second they put them up for sale...... nothing. This crap is getting old.

Re: Limited Stock Brings Out the Inevitable NES Mini Scalpers

Superzone13

Went to Wal-Mart at midnight last night to try and snag one, but left empty-handed because they got a whopping 6 in stock.

Tried GameStop less than an hour ago, right before they opened, but left empty-handed once again because they only got, you guessed it, 6.

I live in a town of around 23,000 people, and Nintendo sent 12 NES Classic Editions our way. That's cool.

Re: Reminder: Set Your Alarm Clock To Snag A NES Classic Edition For The Holiday Season

Superzone13

Just headed to my local Wal-Mart to try and snag one of these at midnight, but came home empty-handed because they got freaking 6 of them. SIX.

Really, Nintendo? We're gonna do this yet again? Did you learn nothing from the amiibo shortage a couple years back? Am I seriously going to have to search every store, every corner of the Internet, under every rock and inside every tree just to find a single NES Classic Edition?

Tens of thousands of people are clearly very excited about this product, and yet Nintendo is going to release approximately 50 of them.

Re: Small My Nintendo Reward Discounts Arrive in North America

Superzone13

My Nintendo has been a massive disappointment so far. 20-30% discounts on Super Nintendo games is the best they can offer? Seriously? Are we sure this service is from the same company that made Club Nintendo?

I got several free games, an awesome Mario statue, pins, playing cards, posters and plenty more awesome collectibles from Club Nintendo. Since My Nintendo launched, I've gotten Metroid Fusion, Zelda Picross and a 3DS theme. That's it. Very disappointed.

Re: Poll: Are You Excited About the Mini NES?

Superzone13

Definitely planning on getting one, but without a preorder option available, I'm going to have to head out on launch day and hope for the best. Really hope the NES Classic isn't going to be like the early waves of Smash Bros. amiibo and be next to impossible to find.

Re: Feature: The Biggest Wii U and 3DS Games of 2016 - Fall / Winter Edition

Superzone13

It's a real bummer to admit, but it has to be said: This might be the weakest Fall/Holiday release schedule ever for Nintendo.

The biggest release, without question, is Pokemon Sun and Moon. But man, there just isn't a whole lot to look forward to outside of that. The biggest Wii U releases are yet another Paper Mario sequel with a major identity crisis and a port of a six-year-old PS3/Xbox 360 game. That's all the Wii U gets in its final Holiday season before its successor releases? Heartbreaking.

Meanwhile, outside of Pokemon, the 3DS is lacking pretty bad as well. An inferior port of Super Mario Maker and a new Mario Party aren't much to get excited about, and the other game releases are mainly niche titles that won't appeal to a lot of people.

And outside of all of that, it's just a bunch of indie games. I don't know about anyone else, but Pokemon Moon will likely be my only new game purchase for my Nintendo systems this Fall. The rest of my gaming cash will be going toward NX savings.

Re: Poll: The GameCube is 15 Years Old - Pick Your Favourite Games

Superzone13

The Gamecube is still my favorite console ever. I picked the following five:

1.Super Smash Bros. Melee
2. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
3. Mario Kart: Double Dash!!
4. Tales of Symphonia
5. Metroid Prime and/or Metroid Prime 2: Echoes.

Hardest games to exclude: Soul Calibur II, Resident Evil 4 and F-Zero GX.

Games I was disappointed to not see in the poll: The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures and Star Wars: Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike.

Re: More Discounts Added to My Nintendo Rewards in North America

Superzone13

I know it's hard to complain about free rewards, but Club Nintendo kicks the crap out of My Nintendo so far. The Platinum Coins have been mostly useless so far (I have well over 2,000 right now, and I even got the 1,000 coin Twilight Princess Picross game) and they don't swap out the free games often enough. I also really, really miss the physical rewards that Club Nintendo had. I got so much cool stuff when they did that.

Re: Feature: What We Expect From the 3DS Nintendo Direct - 1st September

Superzone13

My personal hopes for this Direct, and the chances I think they have of actually happening:

Good chance: The last Smash Bros. amiibo revealed (Cloud, Corrin, Bayonetta).

Decent chance: Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal coming to Virtual Console. GBA games finally being added to the 3DS eShop (FINALLY!).

Hey, I can dream: Nintendo announces cross-buy for all eShop games on Wii U and 3DS.

Re: Feature: A Close Look at AM2R - The Metroid Game That Fans Deserve

Superzone13

Finally downloaded it. Glad I could still find it.

I just hope people calm down a bit and stop being so harsh toward Nintendo. They have a right to protect their IPs, and even the developer of AM2R has said that he isn't upset with them.

The best thing we as fans can do is keep downloading the classic Metroid games on Virtual Console and support the franchise that way. A sudden spike in sales for Metroid, Metroid II, Super Metroid, Fusion and Zero Mission would no doubt grab Nintendo's attention and show them that we want to see another 2D style Metroid game.
