I too don't like the fact that for NA users, the vouchers are no more. I had purchased a set which I redeemed on Dragon Quest Builders 2 and Fire Emblem. It's a neat concept.
The amount of weird restrictions put on this game almost makes me want to try it. What's so special about this game that Nintendo wants to hold so close to their heart? And honestly, for a paid service, there should never be a game without cloud saves.
@OorWullie While I don't exactly agree with your method, but I fully agree that most of the players will not achieve much participating in this. At least having a theme to unlock would be better (although I exclusively use the Gameboy theme ).
@N8tiveT3ch lol, Nintendo hasn't even announced this, the "pro" moniker is totally floated by outsiders.
I would be happy with more steady 1080p (docked)/720p (handheld) resolution and steadier framerates across all games, and maybe more storage and battery capacity. Probably one or two out of these will happen. Fingers crossed.
Instead of 4K, if we could have steady 1080p + 720p and 30+ fps with medium/above medium (in PC terms) quality graphics for all games (for example, Witcher 3), that should be fine with me.
And bigger storage options and bigger carts.
Wireless audio would be great too. And while we are at it, Apple Music, please!
Although not exactly related to the Switch "tablet", Nintendo needs to find a solution to joycon drift.
Plus a refresh of the eShop, better wishlist handling (and access to the wishlist from the web).
These are the Switch related features and upgrades I crave for.
And of course, the original DKC trilogy on the SNES app, DKC Returns, and a new DKC title, and a port of Fire Emblem 7. And Nintendo please, put the soundtracks of your games on Apple Music.
@rushiosan lol, your comment is quite uninformed - these games have been some of the best tactical RPG-s in the market pretty consistently.
I need to get back into this game. Gray is my favorite color, and I think Byleth will have some kind of relationship with these guys. Those who have played the game will know what I'm referring to.
Also, now we know what the logo of the expansion pass signifies. Hyped!
@ Physical Supremacists, There is no all-physical way any more, at least on Switch. I had read a really long thread on Reset Era sometime back, where they were discussing that if you have installed updates for a game on a Switch and then lose/delete those updates, the game won't boot up unless the updates are available again. So, if the eShop shuts down, there is no way to get back that update data unless you kept a backup copy, which is pretty much relying on digital.
In this case though, it makes no sense if the older games are not available for re-download. If that's the case, they could be sued.
This could be a decent competitor to Switch if it is within comparable price range. It has its pros and cons - the PC library is a huge plus, and many would already own some games on Steam/Epic, with cloud saves, so they could start gaming without any investment on games. On the downside, it is still a portable system, so it might not be lot more powerful than than Switch, especially with tricky factors like heat and battery health.
I can tell from my personal experience that Nintendo's hour tracking is broken. Around October-November, I was traveling and my Switch was rarely connected to the internet. So, while the console was raking up durations, the online report showed very low hour count at the end of the month.
Nintendo probably won't add N64, GameCube, etc. titles on the service as they can remaster those and release each of those for $20-$40. GB/GBC and GBA might be possible though. But as many point out, they could potentially charge more to provide a more competitive service in terms of the actual online play. Also, the only special offers NA users have got till now are Tetris 99 and discounted vouchers for a couple of months. They need to do something about that.
@JR150 You really put the figures into good context, especially the fact that GTA has had a significantly longer period to be on the charts than BoTW, but its achievement is also significant that it has managed to keep the sales momentum going on forever.
Pretty weird not to have either of Dragon Quest XI or Dragon Quest Builders 2 or Witcher 3 in the list. And Fire Emblem gets sort of a consolation prize? Can't really agree with this.
@Ghost-Piece aha that sounds better! By the way, both Impossible Lair and Touryst are on my wishlist - I want those so badly but want Obra Dinn and Divinity as well, and I have a lot in my backlog. ;-(
@Ghost-Piece Agreed, but without some curation, the list becomes a mirror of the eShop, and everyone knows eShop is the best storefront in the world. ;-D And anyway, I don't think anyone will have the knowledge of most of the games in the list, and the votes will invariably skew towards the top 20/30, thereby rendering the lower ranks (say 50 - 60) getting 2-3 votes each.
@rdlf4 I completely understand and respect your opinion about the Switch's portability being great for all kinds of gamers. Heck, it brought me back into gaming. I can also respect your choice of games, but your choice of words was really poor. You may dislike Nintendo's IP, but that does not make those any less "real" in gaming terms. Much or the "real" gaming happening now is indebted to Nintendo in one way or the other, and you can't really expect to not rattle a community tied together primarily because of their love of Nintendo's games when you say Nintendo games are not real games.
Is it only me or is this list kind of impractical to begin with? Who scrolls through 15 pages worth of games and maybe rate 10-20 out of those? Nintendo life could have selected 30-50 for us and then the voting would have made much more sense.
@rdlf4 If Nintendo games are not your forte, why are you even bothering about the Switch? All the games you listed are available in some form or the other on PC, so why the extra purchase? Is it for the portability?
Shame there's no new theme this time, but I'll still participate. I have grabbed all the special themes till now but having an option to unlock those later is always welcome. Somehow these Maximus Cups keep happening on weekends when I'm traveling, and I am at the risk of missing out. In fact, I kind of hate the concept of having content locked out with respect to timed events/pre-orders, etc. There should always be a way to get those items by means of fair gameplay, even if we get it a bit later.
@Patron Care to explain? I fell in love with Fire Emblem 7, and this one is quite different to that. While the overall story seems quite lacking and short, the core gameplay is still solid. And I liked the school aspects of the gameplay (exploration, lost items, fishing, etc.) Overall, I am a bit confused whether I love it that much, but it is still a solid entertainment package.
I need:
1. A new Donkey Kong Country game.
2. A port/remaster of Donkey Kong Country Returns.
3. SNES Trilogy on the SNES app.
4. The soundtracks on streaming services, at least Tropical Freeze, considering the copyrights/licences being fairly recent.
5. A huge coffee table book with the continuity and lore sorted out.
The Kongs don't get the love they deserve. Period.
Oh, and since we are living in these times, hashtags are needed to close a plea.

10-15 hours into it, and having a blast. I generally find the lore in western RPG-s to be too esoteric/self-indulgent, but this one is way better till now.
6+7 would be great and would provide an experience with the complete story arc. It's a shame the west has not seen an official localisation of 6 yet. And yes, ports will be fine because of the character sprites and battle animations. Even Three Houses looks pale next to those animations and sound effects. And of course, Hector and Lyn. <3
I would love to have straight ports of Fire Emblem 7 and 6 (localized by Nintendo) in a combo pack. Also the original Donkey Kong Country trilogy as someone already suggested. And while thry are at it, why not port Donkey Kong Country Returns. #wishlist
@Varkster I have owned only one Sony console (PSP) and my favorites on it were PS1 RPG's by 3rd parties. I too have always felt that their own games are pretty samey and kind of gaming equivalent of Hollywood blockbusters.
Dang Dimitri reminds me that I'm yet to play the Blue Lions and Golden Deer routes. Currently on my second playthrough and this game is huge!
My favorite Nintendo character is Donkey Kong though, but given the seasonal nature of this list, probably he won't be up there until the next DKC arrives (or the SNES ones arrive). Fingers crossed!
@Kidfunkadelic83 GRID is great, but the controls are complicated no doubt. I don't have the Gamecube controller but tried quite extensively with joycons and Pro. The setups I used were: 1. Left analogue to steer, ZL-ZR to brake-accelerate - okayish control. Somewhat awkward. 2. Analogue sticks to steer and accelerate - this setup makes clear why people demand for analogue triggers. While I felt that the control over the car's acceleration is definitely better, using two analogue sticks is a pain, and often I would nudge the left one when I needed to nudge the right. 3. D-pad to steer, A/B to accelerate/brake - this is the one I'm using right now. Although it may sound pedestrian and stupid, but this one suits me the best, and I'm learning fast with this setup.
In summary, I'd suggest get that adapter if you can and are serious about playing this. Otherwise, it might be quite challenging (in a wrong way).

Re: President Of Nintendo Compares Sales Of Luigi's Mansion 3 To Previous Entry On 3DS
@Smashfan502 I meant I'm going to buy Luigi's Mansion sometime in future, but if BOTW2 is out at that point of time, then that gets the priority.
Re: Rumour: The Major Switch Title This Holiday Season Could Have "Tires" In It
The simplest way to put down rumours is to release a Direct.

I want this one. Probably my next AAA purchase if BOTW2 does not come out before that.
