If you've not taken advantage of the Nintendo Switch game voucher offer yet, that gives you two digital titles for less, now might be the time to check it out. Provided you're located in Europe or Australia, you'll soon be able to able to redeem Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
Some of the other titles recently added to this offer include Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX (also due out next month), and the recently released game, Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore. You could easily select one of these and then choose Animal Crossing as your second pick. This social sim is arguably the perfect digital experience, as it's a game you'll likely want to play every day.
Unfortunately, these vouchers are no longer available for purchase in North America, so you'll just have to opt with a regular old eShop purchase if you do decide to pick up the new entry in the Animal Crossing series digitally within this location. There are no current plans for the vouchers to return to this region, either.
Have you taken advantage of this deal previously? Will you be downloading the new Animal Crossing game when it arrives on the Switch next month? Tell us below.

The deals has No Effect for me since i will buy the game in physical. 😛
@Anti-Matter same! I understand the desire to go digital with a game I’ll never sell and always want in system. But having a physical copy of my favorite games is more important to me.
Glad I made an Australian Nintendo account
It's not really 2 for the price of one as the vouchers cost £85. The maximum you could save is £25 if you bought BOTW along with one of the 50 quid games.
Thank you Nintendo, just another reason your the best, love saving money on digital.
@OorWullie true, must be a legitimate mistake. I'm sure Liam knows these vouchers are not 241, I mean he writes for Nintendolife, he must.
And as always Nintendo hates the US.
Still salty the vouchers never came back to NA as a 90% digital Switch gamer.
@Moistnado Whoops, fixed!
I've still got one voucher (I used my first on Pokémon Shield), so I guess I'll get Animal Crossing.
It’s still lame that they removed the vouchers from the US...
And North America when? I am saving my last voucher for that game :/
I hope they bring the vouchers back to the US. After getting some deals on eshop cards and combining that with the vouchers I was able to get 2 games for $85. Didn’t realize it was a limited time offer otherwise I would have bought more
@Ralizah Same, as a 100% digital Switch gamer. I picked up like 6 vouchers, and now I’m all out.
I am still going to use a voucher for it in NA because I've been saving my last voucher for it since I purchased it.
I have one of my vouchers left. I doubt I'll use it on this game. I gave the Wii and 3DS games a try but I couldn't get into them.
If the reviews roll in and it's a must buy..... Maybe I'll check it out.
I too don't like the fact that for NA users, the vouchers are no more. I had purchased a set which I redeemed on Dragon Quest Builders 2 and Fire Emblem. It's a neat concept.
You give discounts and still less than 3 out of 10 actually buy digital games on average in 9 months.
Should make retail vouchers 🙄
@OorWullie If you buy discounted eshop credit from sites like Raise, the savings stack with the $20 saved by purchasing the vouchers in the first place (assuming they're all spent on $60 games, which, in my case, they were). I bought six vouchers or so (three pairs) when they were available and saved the equivalent of $120 by doing so, which is what two full MSRP Switch games would cost in NA.
Stack the $15 or so in gold coins from buying three sets of vouchers, and, well...
@BetterThanVegas NA is undoubtedly Nintendo's most profitable region, but you'd never know it, seeing as how we miss out on most of the cool special offers, promotions, etc. these days.
I feel like a lot of the things about Nintendo that have annoyed me over the years are traceable back to decisions from NoA.
I tried out the voucher program in the summer and it was a nice savings. It worked out to about $40 savings in Canada so that means I got NOA online for free and then $10 off a game. I'm not sure why they ended it the Americas.
@DK-Fan I think/am hoping what they meant was you can’t buy new vouchers in NA, but can still use one on AC if you got one left from before. I was doing the same thing, saving my 2nd voucher, as this is one game that will stay in the system..
@Agramonte why would they do that? The entire point of them is to try to boost digital sales, as they make more of a profit from digital sales. The physical sales are fine, they have no need to offer it on physical games (in fact, that would just risk eating into the digital sales).
Finding it hard to use my second voucher. I expect that when BOTW2 or MP4 come out, my voucher will have expired may times over.
For all the positive impressions from New Leaf (which I once grabbed during a birthday discount), an Animal Crossing on Switch isn't a priority for me, if a wishlist item nonetheless. Somewhat unexpectedly, I did just manage to score my first voucher pack, but it went into the other games planned (TMS and Astral Chain). And next time I consider getting one, it is likely to go into both Xenoblades.
Animal crossing isnt showing on the voucher deal yet?
@Ralizah its like they do it on purpose since it is the most profitable region they make the least amount of effort cause they know whatever they put out is gonna sell no matter what
It's just cheaper to buy them on CDKeys seperately. So I'll be doing that.
I still need Pokémon Shield, so that would have been my other choice
We Hyrulian swines deserve this in America!
I'm in North America and have been saving a voucher to get this game, but maybe I won't even be able to do that? Guess I'll have to look into it.
@ShadJV Why is how Nintendo can make more profit from us our goal - And not what helps out the most players
You already need to pay for NSO to get these. And the reason they make more profit is because they saved all the cost from retail and never pass anything down to us.
Digital on consoles is broken because stores live in a bubble with zero competition - Why Tokyo Mirage for WiiU is somehow still $60 on the eShop. You do not want it to become more popular.
@Agramonte your reasoning benefits us, not Nintendo. Nintendo is a company, and the offer was in no way in OUR interest, it was in the interest of making money. In terms of maximizing profits, vouchers for physical games would be counterproductive.
@BetterThanVegas because they know Americans have money.
I bought 2 vouchers and used on Smash and Fire Emblem, bought another 2 in case the offer is suddenly withdrawn.
Current plan is to use on animal crossing and save the other for the Xmas game (hopefully a new Wario kart!l
I'm in Canada, used one voucher already back in the summer for Mario Maker 2. Been holding on to my second one specifically for Animal Crossing New Horizons. Glad the vouchers are good for 365 days, my second one won't expire until July 2020. So I'm good. You might want to clear that up Nintendo Life. Your article above makes it seem like North Americans can't use their vouchers anymore but if you're like me and have held on to one or more since the summer, they're still valid!
Why haven’t I heard of this before and how do you get the vouchers?
People in the NA region can also use a voucher towards ACNH as of this writing (it wasn't updated hours earlier).

@Fandabidozi It was all over the news last year so you might have been, I don't know, under a rock? :/ If you are from NA, you're out of luck. Australia and Europe regions can still purchase the vouchers by visiting the Nintendo website.
@HADAA
I’m rather fond of my rock thank you very much.
Was able to preload mine this morning. 6.2 gigs
