Re: Talking Point: One Month On, How Did Nintendo's Switch 2 Launch Go?

RunGMhx

Well… the console launch itself went well, stock does not seem to be a problem.

Content… well let’s just say nobody in the family have touched the device for the last two weeks… kids were excited to get it day one, but after the novelty factor of Mario Kart nobody touch it… Kids went back to the PS5 or mobile game…

Re: Feature: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Gameplay Trailer - Every New Detail Revealed

Not gonna lie, I’m a bit worried about it… This morning trailer felt a bit too influenced by Minecraft and Fortnite… Was hoping for a darker entry after the reveal traile but this morning trailer didn’t show much in that way.

Then again it was more of a mechanic trailer this morning then an actual trailer… simply hoping these mechanics aren’t over exploited if you don’t feel to play with them too much. Just like I managed to go trough breath of the wild without actually really cooking or switching armor…

One thing that I wasn’t expecting was how easy it would be to play my PS5 in bed or on the go.

I even bought an extra dualsense to keep it paired with my iPad for on the go play session. Granted remote play is far from perfect but still pretty usable most of the time… yes we lose in visual fidelity but it’s still ahead of the switch on most days.

At the end of the day I still love my switch, it’s just for a different type of games, namely exclusive and less graphically intense games, for the rest it’s the PS5. The switch does a fine job with a lot of games but compromise are smaller on PS5 for multi platform. To me the switch work best when it does it’s own thing, there’s a reason why Nintendo don’t go for too realistic games, the cartoon looks on their games suits it perfectly and makes the game look like there’s no compromise.

With this split the only thing I don’t like on the switch is the load time, it never was a problem until the PS5 but spoiled me… same goes for non optimized ps4 game, loading are something you don’t miss…

Re: Poll: So, How Would You Rate Nintendo's 2021?

RunGMhx

It didn’t fee that bad but the year in review Nintendo sent me was pretty telling, barely played 77h this year (vs 195h) last year and my spouse is down from 495h to 135h.

Granted we got a PS5 in march but that didn’t affect much, I don’t feel like I’ve missed anything I wanted (still on the fence on skyward sword).

Re: Pokémon Trading Card Game Live Has Been Delayed Until 2022

@SwitchplayerJohn @Bucky I guess this is part of the thing where it makes too much sense and people are asking for it so Nintendo won’t do it. Just like the virtual console, the ability to play previous Metroid on switch before dread, themes and folder on switch and app such as Netflix…

@ZebZed Don’t really agree with that argument. With Switch having close to 80 million player with a good portion of them knowing Pokémon they would have a good install base. Also following you’re argument they’re would be no sense on keeping the mainline game exclusive to Nintendo console yet this still happen.

Re: Zelda: The Wind Waker Reimagined Inside Unreal Engine Is A Sight To Behold

@Crono1973 I think it’s a bit of an unfair comment, most people don’t have a wii I and they’re now pretty expensive to come by for what they bring to the table, plus even on the Wii au you can’t play 100% portable which is a huge selling point for a lot of people.

I can honestly say that those Zelda HD remasters but more specifically wind waker are the only switch port that I really want from the Wii U. That and if Nintendo could let me get the virtual console (I honestly just want the Metroid gba).

Re: Nintendo's Doug Bowser Discusses The Future Of Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Wife is 350h in.... funny thing is she never saw herself as a gamer before and never put more than a dozen hour or so in any game.

In the last few months though she slowed pace considerably but still launch the game à on weekly basis. Unless they add a lot more content (she was a fan of fishing and critterpedia) I don’t see how they can pull her back in for good. Updates need to be more meaty than what was added so far which feel more like a novelty than content to her.

Re: With The DLC All Wrapped Up, Here Are The 234 Pokémon Still Unavailable In Sword And Shield

RunGMhx

I wouldn’t be surprised to see something announced next year for the 25th anniversary that will bring them back with a new expansion or simply make them available to be transferred in...

They have to have something for next year and I think the new generation is out of the question with how young this one still is including the expansion.

Also I quite enjoyed shield, it’s far from being a great game but as my first Pokémon game (been wanting to play this since I was a kid) it was an ok introduction and i can’t miss what I never had... also in my point of view the expansion and gradual add of Pokémon gave me initiative to complete the pokedexes by never making the task too daunting (always only needed a few more). That said I can see why people who are not new to the franchises would not see things the same way.
