Isn't the switch the next gen console from nintendo though? I thought the Wii U was the one on the same generation as the PS4 and Xbox One...

@Jeremazing Well looking at the fact that 90 gold points net you 30% off something and it's worth .90$ unless said games is worth 3$ I would say these offer are an advantage vs simply using your gold point toward a purchase... So yes I guess we could use these...

I'm I'm not even talking about platinum points which are more or less worthless and yet still give you significant discount in some offer...

I don't really care about youtube, its nice but useless on the if you have no network. Now if we could get Netflix with the ability for offline download like on iOS.... I would buy a second switch for my wife for her commute as of now she's always altering between the switch and the iPad depending on what she want to do...

Ok, ive never really played Pokémon.... but looking at the video at 6:27, what’s up with that double kick animation? Pikachu just look like a rigid rock being drop from an inch off the ground... some other attack look like more care have been put in the animation but still less than what could be expected nowadays... is this like a untouchables classic animation for double kick ? I could swear attack animation in Pokémon go already look better even if it’s a light mobile game...

I hope that you’re not referring the games I’ve been playing for the last 5-10 years on my phone/steam/ps3 as the “new” ones.

I agree about limited amount of money and some sort of canabilization, but it might also just bring price more in line with those of the potential VC or other platform. Always thought that it was odd that some game that I bought for like 4$ on my phone are now 15$ when they release on the switch.... This might not always be true but it’s far to common...

@NEStalgia @Jacadamia @Yosher I tought we already knew a bit about these special offer.... The first one being to have the right to buy those NES Controller that are 100% useless if you no longer subscribe to Switch Online (or when the service die) as they can't play any other games with them....

Maybe if we could buy NES games by the piece this could have some use to me as they're cheaper than a NES mini and would have the potential to play more games (though when I think about it I'm not even sure there's 5 Nes games I might be interested to play...)

I’ll be damned... why would they not give the positive to promote the service... I just went to à absolute no to a big maybe if I can share game with friends and at the same time split online cost on a family plan...

Edit : The more I read about it, the less it seems like sharing but more like letting me play my game on another switch... the other accounts on the non-primary switch can’t access the games... so I go to a friend, I can play my games with my account on his switch, but he can’t play my game on his switch.... since the switch if portable I might as well just bring my switch.

@Indielink this is obviously not true as this is a feature people actually want out of online and Nintendo is dead set on not doing what people want with this service.

@NintendoFan4Lyf That or your subscription lapse while your switch is in a replacement process... which makes it much more likely given some will have monthly subscription...

Expensive, but might have paid if I could have bought the nes games. Because they become useless if I don’t renew Nintendo switch online and when the service is discontinued (that will be a long time tough) is a no go for me.

This is indeed ridiculous, while the games that I play doesn't seem to be affected (but might be in the future I guess), it still shows a sub par service by nintendo and doesn't solve problem of playing on more than one switch if you own multiple... The backup for those games should done server side of with two different save, one for multiplayer (only on the server, it's not like you'll play online if you have no network anyway) and one for single player (in the cloud and local).

For quite some time people have been saying that they want more info on the online service, while other say that we already know everything... Well this is a good example that we don't even so close to the launch... Nintendo should have given all the details, the good and the bad a while ago so they ripped the band aid off and people can either get excited or calm down...

It's almost like they don't give all the info hoping people will subscribe without knowing what they'll get into...

@GrailUK I'm not sure.... it's kind of the point of the article, things need to be clarified / set straight before launch...

People keep talking about 20$ a year and compare it to Sony and Microsoft, but if I'm not mistaken the 20$ a year is for only one account, if you want multiple account with online it's 35$ while on Xbox and playstation every account on the console get online access... now when you compare the 35$ to the 50$ (I think) for Xbox live and the content that you get it seems nintendo is not so inexpensive anymore...

Well deserved, the game was far better then expected and made the crossover really well.

With such a reception I’ve always been surprised to not see Nintendo give the game a nod with the rabbids being part of Smash either as playable character or cameo as assist trophy...

This should be a monthly thing since the shop can be a little chaotic.... As soon as I saw this article I went to see previous month but it seems it was on hiatus for quite a while...
