The sound of charging and firing the X Buster in Mega Man X. There's just something so satisfying about it.
Edit: Can't believe I forgot the Smash Bros. Home-Run Bat sound! I love that sound SO much! Whenever I play an RPG and score a critical hit, I imagine that sound playing at the moment of impact.
@SpeedRunRocks This phrase specifically? No. But it reminds me of the line from the anime GaoGaiGar, "Hikari ni nare!", which Gai shouts when using the Goldion Hammer finisher. It's translated as "Transform into light!".
Personally, I wouldn't mind them taking another crack at the RPG genre. Dark Brotherhood was an interesting concept that just got mediocre execution. I still had fun playing it, but all it's systems just felt shallow. Let a team that makes real RPGs take another crack at it.
So, am I correct in assuming that the recommendation is that if you still have Shadow Dragon DS, you can pass on this and you're not missing out on anything? If so, I'll save my time and money.
Definitely interested in this...at some point. They're making the same mistake here as those Darius collections. When they come down off that ridiculous asking price, I'll be waiting.
Played this in my youth, and got the first Switch release. I'll definitely get it, but not until a sale. Now if only that Commander Keen collection on Steam would be ported over...
20/21 I've never actually seen that artwork from Link's Awakening before, so it tripped me up. I definitely would've remembered such a terribly drawn Link.
10 out of 15. Got most of the sneaky ones, but there were several characters on the list whose games I've never played. Still feel pretty good about it, though.
Japan wins this round. The NA cover takes the same basic idea, but executes it worse. That EU cover is godawful, though. Why so many like it I'll never understand.
At this point, I don't really need another Smash game ever. Just keep porting Ultimate forward, and periodically putting out some new stuff (fighters, spirits, items, modes, etc...). Any game that comes after this will either feel like a step backward, or will have to be some kind of "Beyond Ultimate" craziness.
Rip-off or not, all that matters is whether it's fun. I hope there's a demo, because it seems like there might be trouble finding an unbiased review...
Since they're all being released separately, I wonder if it means Dragon Quest I will be given away as a reward for getting the True Ending of XI. I was always bummed that only Japan got that special treat on PS4.
The only non-video game character that should ever be considered for Smash is Captain N: The Game Master. If ever there was an exception to the rule, he would be it.
No pun intended, but the perpetual buzzsaw of death has killed my enthusiasm for this. Everything else looks awesome, but I cannot stand the "outrun a hazard that will insta-kill you if you're too slow" mechanic.
It did say game card, didn't it? It's disheartening that we live in a world where you have to double check whether a physical release actually has a physical copy of the game.

Re: Can You Conquer Mastermind's Fiendishly Difficult Legend Of Zelda Quiz?
"You scored 11/12, and rank 611th out of 4,551!"
Nice job, me!
Re: Power Rangers: Rita's Rewind Lands Mighty Physical Edition Later This Year
Why is the Pink Ranger purple in that artwork?
Re: Crazy Castlevania-Style Action Platformer 'Super Zangyura' Gets Surprise Western Release
Looks interesting, but I'm going to need a NLife review.

Re: Feature: Our Predictions For Nintendo's E3 2021 Direct
We need the return of Golden Sun and Eternal Darkness. Come on Ninty, surprise me by giving me what I really want for once!

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Duel #78 - Super Mario RPG
North America is our winner this time. The plain white background and deceptive Yoshi kill Japan's cover.
Re: Netflix Joins Mario's Doomsday Celebrations, Will Remove Super Mario Bros. 3 Cartoon On 31st March
I assume it's being removed from Netflix because it's on the new Paramount+ service.
Re: Nintendo Expands Its Switch Online SNES And NES Service With Four More Titles
I've wanted to try Fire 'N Ice for a long time. I'm a longtime fan of Solomon's Key, but have yet to ever experience this game.
Re: Can You Name All This Nintendo Hardware?
8/20 Considering the nature of the quiz, I'm okay with that.
Re: UK Charts: Assassin's Creed Valhalla Takes Christmas Number One, Four Nintendo Games Hit Top Ten
How is Cyberpunk 2077 still so high up?
Re: How Well Do You Know Zelda: Breath Of The Wild?
13/16 Not bad. Only missed the tricky obscure questions.
Re: Random: 3D-Printed Rainbow Road Takes Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit To A Whole Other Level
Awesome, but needs to be wider for competitive racing. I don't think two carts could fit side-by-side on that track.
Re: Sega Yakuza Producer Would Make A "Completely Different" Sonic Game, If Given The Opportunity

Re: How Well Do You Know Your Indie Games?
6/12 Pretty good, considering they were almost all guesses.
Re: Can You Name All These Super Mario Worlds And Levels?
11/18 Better than I expected. It's been awhile since I've played a lot of these, and my memory has gotten fuzzy.
Re: Mega Man And Cave Story-Inspired Platformer Firework Explodes Onto Switch This Week
Looks enough like Mega Man to pique my interest. I'd like to read a NL review first, though (hint, hint).
Re: Video: That Super Mario Direct Was Lovely, If A Tad Predictable
"Poor ARMS."
Never retire, Alex. The world needs you too much.

Re: How Well Do You Know Rare And Its Nintendo Games?
11/15 Not bad, considering how little I actually know about Rare.
Re: How Well Do You Know Metroid?
7/12 Considering how many straight-up guesses I made, that's pretty good.
Re: Commander Keen In Keen Dreams Comes To Switch Again, This Time With New Levels
Played this in my youth, and got the first Switch release. I'll definitely get it, but not until a sale. Now if only that Commander Keen collection on Steam would be ported over...
Re: How Well Do You Know Luigi?
5/12 It's official: I suck
Re: How Well Do You Know The Koopalings?
8/8 Finally, a quiz even I can get a perfect score on!
Re: Can You Match These Links To The Zelda Game They're From?
20/21 I've never actually seen that artwork from Link's Awakening before, so it tripped me up. I definitely would've remembered such a terribly drawn Link.
Re: Can You Name These Switch Games From Their Menu Icons?
11/21 Considering I guessed on all but like three of them, that's not bad.
Re: Can You Name These Super Smash Bros. Fighters?
15/15 Nice try, Dark Samus.
Re: Can You Name The First Game These Famous Characters Appeared In?
10 out of 15. Got most of the sneaky ones, but there were several characters on the list whose games I've never played. Still feel pretty good about it, though.
Re: Nintendo Download: 18th June (North America)
@KingMike
Agreed. I think I'll continue being patient. Everything goes on sale eventually.
Re: Nintendo Download: 7th May (North America)
Am I the only one who read the list and thought, "That game should be called Slayin 2: Electric Boogaloo"?

Japan wins this round. The NA cover takes the same basic idea, but executes it worse. That EU cover is godawful, though. Why so many like it I'll never understand.

Re: Feature: So, Who's Next For Super Smash Bros. Ultimate?
For the thousandth time, Ryu Hayabusa for Smash!

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl #17 - Ninja Gaiden
NA all the way. So... Ryu Hayabusa in Smash when? I won't stop campaigning until Sakurai does the right thing and lets him in.
Re: The First Three Dragon Quest Games Are Coming To Switch In Europe And North America
Since they're all being released separately, I wonder if it means Dragon Quest I will be given away as a reward for getting the True Ending of XI. I was always bummed that only Japan got that special treat on PS4.

Re: The Nintendo E3 2019 eShop Sale Is Now On (US & CA)
Skyrim was on my wish list for a long time, so this sale convinced me to finally pull the trigger. Picked up Wargroove as well.
Re: The Next DLC Fighter For Smash Ultimate Will Be Revealed At Nintendo's E3 Direct
@Wavey84
I'd love to see Wart and his minions back in a Mario game. It's time for Wart's Revenge!
Re: Konami Confirms Full Line-Up Of Games Included In The Contra Anniversary Collection
Now this is how you do an anniversary collection! I can't wait!
Re: German Retailer Lists Contra Physical Release For Nintendo Switch
@John_Deacon
Never use that name around here! It doesn't deserve it. It should just be called "Force". No amount of remastering can make it a "Contra" game.
Re: Random: Evil Dead's Ash Will Not Be Appearing In Mortal Kombat 11 As A DLC Fighter
That Twitter post is why I love Bruce Campbell.
Re: Nintendo Download: 2nd May (North America)
Shadows of Adam and Venture Kid downloaded. I've also got my eye on Giga Wrecker Alt, but I'll wait and see if it goes on sale at some point.
Re: Review: Shadows Of Adam - A Short But Sweet Throwback To The Glory Days Of 16-Bit JRPGs
Well, I'm sold! Into my queue you go.
Re: Shadows Of Adam Is A Modern Take On SNES-Era JRPGs, And It's Coming To Switch Next Month
Scrumptious! Morbo will store this in his sack for future digestion.

Re: This 3D Model Of Super Mario World Is Breathtakingly Beautiful
Now he just needs to make it so that the top of the Vanilla Dome has a hinge on the back, so it can swing open to reveal a mini World 3 within.
Re: Feature: Nintendo Indie Collaborations And Crossovers We’d Like To See
We got Zelda musou, now Zelda rhythm. How about Zelda RPG? Link & company would fit nicely in a FF Tactics or Fire Emblem style game.
