@TheFullAndy But to do 4K DLSS it would require a completely new SoC. The current Tegra chip doesn't support that tech. So new CPU/GPU will be inside. Might warrant a bigger chassis.
@Burntbreadman The screen is going to be bigger which means the console's chassis will be bigger too. Which means they can fit a slightly longer battery in there.
Was definitely underwhelmed by this Direct. Especially after Mario got 2 whole collections of games for his 35th Anniversary. Zelda just got 1 game. And its strange because Wind Waker and Twlight Princess HD should be easy to port over to the Switch. Meanwhile, they could have had Grezzo work on HD remasters of Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask.
What would be really awesome is if they released Wind Waker HD on the Switch and added one of the extra dungeons that never made it to the original release.
As for TP, I'd love to see that on Switch too. And I hope Nintendo secretly has Grezzo working on HD remasters of OoT and MM for Switch.
Given that the story of AoC seems more like an alternate universe rather than canon to BotW, I think I might skip this DLC. The main game was far too grindy and repetitive IMO. I loved the cutscenes and the voice acting but at the end of the day, it just seemed like the whole thing was fan fiction.
@Steel76 that would be awesome but I see no mention of it being advertised for both. I only see the Xbox logo at the end of the trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S--lFTxAVs8
Keeping the new Perfect Dark title exclusive to Xbox consoles will severely damage the franchise’s chances of becoming well known to this generation’s gamers. If they were to go multi platform or even bring the game out on PC as well as Xbox, it would have a chance to grow. Even more so if they brought a portable version to Switch
Hell yeah! I tried playing the original SS on a modern 4K tv recently and it was soooo damn blurry. I’d love a graphically crisp clear version on the Switch. It would be a day one purchase for me
The Champions amiibos were the most pointless ones to be added to the game. Each one unlocked a helm that gave you the exact same abilities that the Gerudo headbands gave you (heat resistance, cold resistance, lightning resistance, swim speed increase). They didn’t even combine abilities with the matching ancient armour components. Such a missed opportunity.
Nintendo fans be like “Hey Nintendo, could we get some more HD Zelda remakes and a Metroid Prime Trilogy HD remake?” And Nintendo be like, “Nope, f*** you, play more Mario.”
@Duncanballs Yeah probably. The Switch has another 2 years left in its current lifespan. Nintendo always releases a new console every 5 years and we're almost up to 3.
When the REAL successor to the Switch comes out I hope it can handle 4K resolution @ 60fps when docked and 1080p 60fps when portable otherwise Nintendo are wasting their time. Stretched low res images with jaggies should not be a thing in this day and age.
Can't say i've ever had a problem with joy-con control sticks drifting. I never use the ones on the console anyway. I play mostly at home with my Switch while its docked so i'm 99% of the time using the Pro Controller which is waaaaay more comfortable than the smaller ones ever were.
Why the hell would anybody want a gimped Switch? The regular Switch can't even do full 1080p in BotW while docked and we're quickly moving into a 4K resolution era. Walk into a hardware store and check out the huge majority of 4K TV's for sale compared to the very few 1080p TV's. We need a BETTER switch if anything - one that can do 4K 60hz / 60fps at least. Nintendo's jaggy, pixelated, low res textures are getting old real fast. We're living in a era where parents are buying their kids $1000 phones. Do you really think people will complain about a $400 console that can keep up with modern day TV's?
Hope the government bans loot boxes altogether. I don't mind paying outright for cosmetic sets or maps or DLC. But forget that 'chance' element of getting something lousy in a loot box.
Such a shame to see one of the best dev studios of its time be completely destroyed by Microshaft and their shady tactics. The only reason Microshaft bought majority of shares in Rareware was purely to steal them away from Nintendo. Because they literally did jack with the company once it became theirs. They just lit a match and watched it slowly burn, content in the fact that Nintendo had lost its strong right arm.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo To Reveal New Switch Model With Samsung OLED Display And 4K Support
While i do believe Nintendo are working on a successor to the current Switch model, I don't think these specs make any sense.
Why would they make a new console with a higher spec CPU and higher spec GPU just to give it the same low resolution of 720p? It just doesn't add up.
It would make more sense to go with a 1080p handheld res and a 4K docked res using DLSS.

They're taking those games off-sale so that they can re-sell them again in a few years time as Switch Pro titles XD

Damn that Ocarina of Time HD looks so crisp and clean, I love it!
Re: Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity Is Officially The Best-Selling Musou Game Ever
I enjoyed the cutscenes and the voice acting but the gameplay got really boring and repetitive towards the end. I'd rate it 75/100

Sure they won’t be releasing it this year but March 2021 sounds likely.

Also loved Goldeneye, Perfect Dark and Killer Instinct.
