Last year, Crytek surprised longtime fans with a remaster of the original Crysis game. It turns out this year is actually the 10th anniversary of Crysis 2, and well, you know what that means, right? If Crytek's recent activity on social media is anything to go by, it seems the German developer might be gearing up for a remaster of the second game, which was originally released in 2011.
The quote "They used to call me prophet" in the tweet below, is a line spoken by Major Laurence "Prophet" Barnesa from Crysis 2, and is followed by some wide-eyed emojis and a screenshot of the same game - seemingly suggesting something could be on the way.
Last year's Crysis Remastered was the first time a Crysis game had ever been released on a Nintendo platform. At the time, we labelled it a technical miracle and one of the best shooters on the hybrid platform. If a remaster of the second game does go ahead, it should also be running on CryEngine V.
Would you be interested in playing a remaster of the second Crysis game on Switch eventually? How about the third one? Leave a comment down below.

Yes a Crysis 2 Remastered would make sense. Would be even better if it was a launch title for the Switch Pro.
Did the first get a physical release?
Got crysis remastered but didnt really get into it!! Will retry before trying any potential new ones. Great news if it happens
@GrailUK Not yet, hopefully Limited Run Games had plan for one soon maybe a two in one Crysis collection in the future.
Currently having a good time with my first run through the first game on Switch, would certainly be up for more.
@Ghost_of_Hasashi
“Muh Switch pro” lmao extra lmao about a mediocre sequel that was speced to run on 16 year old hardware with 256MB of VRAM.
Crysis 2 is one of my favourite games.
Hopefully if we get a reboot, it's going to be a PS5 XsX version rather than being held back by last gen consoles like the first remaster was.
@Ghost_of_Hasashi why. This game is 360 era game. It came out in the same year as Skyrim. No need for a switch pro for this
@Mr-Fuggles777 this is a 360 era game...
@SalvorHardin If it's a remastered it'll probably run a lot better specs.
@anoyonmus yet that game ran at 20fps and even lower on 360, what's your point? it's not like crysis ran well on 360. heck, crysis "remastered" drops below 30fps on switch quite frequently.
@anoyonmus Yeah if it's a port, a remastered is a different story though.
@Casual_Gamer95 and the switch is more powerful than the 360. If it is just a remaster, then the switch could handle it probably
@anoyonmus no, a direct port would be better. a remaster would be too demanding for the switch, cryengine is super heavy to run. the "remastered" version of the first one is barely upgraded. it'S 360 textures with better lighting.
The switch is more powerful than a 360 but barely because it's worse than an xbox one from 2012. the switch really isn't that powerful.
❗YES PLEASE!
I bought C1 on PS3 and loved it enough to re-buy it on Switch.
It would be nice to see how the story continues.
@Ghost_of_Hasashi Okay, but where's Crysis Warhead expansion remastered? How can they skip out on that?
The first remaster wasn't great so I didn't buy it. Plus Crytek made it Epic Games Store exclusive on PC so that was another reason to dodge it.
I won't buy Crysis Remastered or Crysis 2 Remastered until Crytek agrees to put them on Steam or Origin. No way am I ever gonna install the Epic Games Store. Tim Sweeney is an absolute sleezeball scumbag and I hope he goes bankrupt.
Yes I would. Never played the second one so it should be a treat.
I’d love to have Crysis 2 on Switch or what ever future Nintendo console. 😌
(Apparently, it’s bad to say “Switch Pro” around here 😬)
Remasters of Crysis 2 and 3 have both been leaked in Crytek financial documents.
I got this game after years of hearing about it. But I tried playing it, played for a few hours, and it just never pulled me in. Nothing about it felt particularly bad. It just never really impressed me.
The story, graphics, gameplay, music, character and enemy design... it all just feels "okay".
There's certainly much worse games around to play. But there's a lot of games I just enjoy so much more. I doubt that I'd bother with Crysis 2.
Crysis 2/3, the games that are a showcase of everything attempting realistic hi-fidelity graphics results in diminishing returns. You still have games releasing today that can barely match what these games achieved a decade ago.
@SNEED what? Go play more games
@diwdiws
I don't play games. I just come here for no reason other than to not play games.
I remember hearing about the Crytek series a lot like a decade ago... but are these games still good today? (And I don't just mean good to look at, but more importantly good gameplay wise.)
@SNEED based on your comment about Crysis, that may really be true
@Patendo I picked it up on sale about 3 months ago on the Switch, and have been slowly playing through it. There's definitely some bugs/glitches (reached out to the devs with some of them), but I'm still making progress.
I like the Nanosuit stuff in the game, and even the storyline, at least, so far. It just seems to be a bit off to me, and not sure what it is entirely. The jumping mechanic seems like it should be a lot better, for one. But, maybe it's the glitches/bugs throwing me off, though I'm still giving it a go and enjoying it. I played some yesterday, and plan on firing it up here in a few as well.
But, I did learn that apparently it wasn't Crytek that ported the Switch version, and was actually another company, Saber Interactive, that has been helping with it? I thought that was interesting.
I would be interested in a Crysis 2/3 "Remastered", though I feel like these should be near perfect when released, and not have the bugs/glitches that the OG one has had. I feel like a game releasing after all this time, with the "Remastered" in it's title, should be playing smoothly and really be a showcase for what the OG could have been.
Pre-ordered the first one on my Switch, it's a perfect port
Hope they bring the second to Switch too
Already played the Crysis Trilogy on PC, but having those games on the go is a bless, since i really enjoy this series...
I also bought every DOOM on Switch and both Metro Redux
@wuntyme8
In fact the gameplay is the best part of Crysis series, not the visuals
It's a mix of stealth and action in a semi open world environment
You feel like Predator, it's awesome
@diwdiws Haven't touched 2/3 since 2014, and this was back when I could only run the game on low/medium settings and the frame-rate varied between 40-50 max. My current system would have no problem running any of those games on maximum settings, I have no reason to redownload them again.
