Re: Poll: Does Nintendo Switch Need Streaming Apps and a Web Browser, Or Is It All About Games?

@BigWhoady

What's wrong is the switch looks like tablet so the non gamer or those without their fingers on the pulse of technology are going to expect it do what a tablet can, when they find it cannot meet their expctations they'll look for something else that can. Having an all in one package is a no brainer and Nintendo need to see this fast, if the could also get android support in some way the switch could achieve sales figures in the wii range if not more.

One size fits all nice, I woukd ask why nintendo aren't selling this more but then realised it's not time yet. I now feel I understand nintendo's marketing approach (best make this quick as There's some guys here with a jacket with a distinct lack of arm holes) this launch is aimed at selling to us staunch nintendites, with a small stock supply and meager launch lineup.

Then with us out of the way They're going to go all out with the marketing push, after all we're going to buy no matter what the specs and functionality so why bother, better to hold off till after the launch when stock is better that way when Mrs More goes out to get one for little Johnny she can actually get one, there is no point pushing a product now when supply is low and risk loosing sales to rival tablet. No as soon as this launch is out of the way thats when we'll know everything plus the good word of mouth from early adopters is something else they're banking on.

To cancel or not to cancel that is the question, didn't want voices to start with knowing how a bad dub can kill a game and now to be forced to listen to a, from what I've heard and read is a pretty uneven display of talent, its an issue for me. After all why should I pay my money for a game that does not give me what I want.

Would also like to know before I decide whether we are getting regional variations like dragon quest viii or am I going have to listen to a load of Yanks. As with the old anime argument I want subs>dubs even if it's just because it's harder to tell a poor dub in another Lingo.

I blame brexit, Trump and isis(when they eventually release a statement admitting culpability) for this.

All I want at this point is a comparison between zelda switch and wii u 'cos if the switch version rocks out It's going to mean me selling a kidney. Then if I survive that back street botch job then and only then will want more info on mother/metroid.

Looking at this reveal it really felt skewed towards the japanese market, so hopefully in the very near future we'll get a more western focused direct.

One thing I'd like to know is what else it can do, and i recon nintendo will tell us before christmas. When they released the list of supporters they mention Autodesk who someone pointed out make autocad, so I'm thinking there are more video's incoming highlighting the varitey of ways the switch can be used but each reveal will be focused on specific areas, rather than having just one mass info dump. A concise message each time with uses clearly outlined, then when we know just exactly what it is we are getting they'll give us the rest.

Re: Analysts Weigh In On The Nintendo Switch Debate

If they packaged it with an enhanced port of splatoon or mario kart 8 that would be a killer app bundle and Wouldn't have the cost implications of developing as say developing a full fledged sequel would. I can also see this having some kind of mobile infastructure going on if it can play pokemon go and mario run then other brands could follow.
