The Korean Game Rating Board has just issued a rating for Mega Man Legacy Collection 2, which will, according to the description, include Mega Man 7, Mega Man 8, Mega Man 9 and Mega Man 10.
This collection follows in the footsteps of the 2015 original, which was released on the 3DS as well as other systems. However, this time around it would seem that Nintendo fans might be missing out, as the Korean rating only indicates versions for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
Capcom hasn't officially confirmed that Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 even exists, so there's still time for the proposed platforms to change. However, it's worth noting that Capcom passed on releasing its Disney Afternoon Collection on the Switch or 3DS.

We didn't get the Disney/Capcom collection and now this. It makes no sense (as I can't imagine porting these games to a new platform is difficult or costly).
What is it with capcom and incredibly old games being remastered?
Megaman, Disney Afternoon, Street Fighter. Its padding to its worst level in my opinion. Yeah worse then Ultra Tennis at least that had more effort put in.
Edit: In 2016 alone they had two collections, three remasters, and five ports. They also had Street Fighter a game panned for being unfinished, Monster Hunter stories a milkmaking spinoff of MH, Dead Rising four a game that pretended to be back to it's roots and finally Umbrella Corps.
Still somehow 2017's current lineup looks worse (except the already released RE7 that ones pretty good).
"However, this time around it would seem that Nintendo fans might be missing out, as the Korean rating only indicates versions for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC."
So this is news why exactly? To bully Switch owners? They are already having a hard time. There's no need to rub it in.
"Nintendo Release Uncertain"
Of course it is. It wouldn't be a typical 3rd party game announcement if it was heading to a Nintendo platform. Disappointing, as technical difficulties shouldn't be an issue. If they do come to the Switch VC, I can see them being sold separately with rip-off prices, similar to how HAMSTER are releasing games like the Metal Slug games.
It would be stupid if we didn't get this collection, but the Disney Afternoon Collection means far more to me personally. Knowing Nintendo right now, they'll probably keep this from happening.
Why can't we just get a Megaman collection with ALL the games?
Aside from Megaman 8 being... well, Megaman 8, I'd really love 9 and 10 to come out on 3DS, as they would allow the 3DS to play all Megaman classic games much like PSP was the go-to Final Fantasy console from 1 to 9 and the Vita did the same but added 10 to the mix. So yeah, fingers crossed, although I'm in no way pleased by the lack of any DuckTales incarnation on 3DS (especially Remastered, as the layered backgrounds would have benefited a lot from the 3D effect).
@EternalDragonX
Because Capcom.
Mega Man 1-10 should end up on Switch. It just makes too much sense.
(Unless the VC releases are too profitable... I doubt it though)
How well did the last Megaman Collection do on the 3DS? Did it do well or was it a flop?
@Yasume You bully us though 😛
I get the feeling Capcom isn't giving these new retro collections Nintendo releases because sales of the first Mega Man Legacy Collection on 3DS weren't what they'd hoped for. But surely they realize that low sales were probably due to all 6 games already being on 3DS VC? I adore Mega Man games, but didn't pick up Legacy Collection because I already had all the games in it on my 3DS. I'd love to be able to play the Disney Afternoon collection, or this new Mega Man collection, on my 3DS or Switch, as it would actually be, for the most part, games I can't play on those systems any other way.
What was that just now ? "Taking the Switch very seriously" ?
Yeah...about that...
Also, about this collection: It is STILL missing the two arcade games and Battle & Chase...Something, that has been present on previous collections...
The cynic in me can see them releasing the megaman and disney collection as individual VC releases.
Capcom is a stupid company and a shell of its former self.
i already own 1-7 on the Wii U and 9 on the Wii along with the 1-6 collection on the Xbox One and 9 & 10 went backward compatible as well.
So Megaman 8 is the only reason to get this lol
Does Nintendo even sell consoles in Korea? If they don't they wouldn't need a rating.
@ieatdragonz There's a very simple answer, actually: every single game of theirs not called Monster Hunter misses expectations, and they have to stay afloat somehow. These compilations are cheap projects that fill holes here and there.
They've been in worse situations in the past, so I don't think they're going anywhere.
Why no Megaman and BAss?
I was really hoping for MM9 on 3DS...
Well, would be nice to get on my 3DS to have all 10 on one system. That being said, the only one I don't have access to is Mega Man 8, and I do have an Xbox One and PC. So if this is a real thing, I'm sure to grab it either way.
Wishful thinking, but hopefully we just get a Switch exclusive Mega Man Ultimate Collection (or something like that) that contains all 10 games. Wouldn't really want 7-10 without 1-6 (even though 9 is my favorite entry).
Wouldn´t this game be more popular with Nintendo gamers who like this type of game? I'd certainly get it since i quite enjoyed the first collection.
I'll do this now while it's still relatively early.
MM7: Bland, but still good (and underrated). Graphics are nice, music is lame. Lots of Proto Man a plus.
MM8: Highly underrated. One of the most refreshing games in the series. Beautiful artwork. And its cutscenes are what make YouTube great.
MM9: Rivals MM3 for best in the series. (MM3 still takes it, though.) The breather between MM8 and this game was much meeded, and it paid off.
MM10: The only numbered title in the Classic series I haven't played (including the Game Boy titles). It has a robot master sheep, though.
@Dr_Corndog MM9: Rivals MM3 for best in the series. (MM3 still takes it, though.)
Yes.
Yes.
I would LOVE if it came to the 3DS/2DS. Instant pre-order! But where is Mega Man and Bass?
@EternalDragonX Because there's a lot of games and only so much space. 5-in-1 is a pretty sweet deal impo.
Though maybe if they did multiple discs/cartridges in one thing like a boxset, they could do it. That'd be cool and so worth it.
I think we maybe jumping to conclusions here. The switch hasn't even released in Korea and the wiiu never did. They would have no reason to rate it in Korea if its coming to the switch.
Awwwww, would have been great on the Switch.
@faint
Oh. I didn't know that.
CapCom is taking the Switch very seriously...
MegaMan Collection 2 uncertian to be on any Nintendo system...
What a joke this company is!
@Gold_Ranger see my post above
Really? Why?
@Jessica286 because the switch hasn't released in Korea. Thats my guess.
@faint I hope is that because the console can handle the game and Capcom said they are taking it serious so I'll be mad if it doesn't come.
@8-Bit_Zorldo yeah, I remember that, too. Between this and the Disney Collection I'm frustrated. I can't help but wonder if Nintendo not being quick to give info on Switch is part of this, but both collections should have been on 3DS easily.
We NEED this collection on 3DS and probably the Switch too. For over a decade we've had MM1-5 and 9+10 though the Wii while the 3DS and Wii U finally brought us 6+7. 8 is what always made our digital collections incomplete due to it never being on a Nintendo system so unlike the first collection which was a little pointless given the VC releases, this has a game we cannot get any other way bar the pricey original discs. And if this sees a physical release as well, we can finally have 9+10 physically too!
Switch might be a little problem since the first Collection isnt on there but I could see them saying "Coming soon, Collection 2! Switch owners can buy the First Collection right away on the eShop after this presentation!" but the fact we missed out on the Disney Collection leaves me uneasy. Could still happen, but yeah....
@Tempestryke Coming soon, Collection 3 with classic spins offs like +Bass, Soccer, Power Battles 1+2 and whatever else we can cash in on before we have to do an X Collection! XD
@Angelic_Lapras_King
An oddball Collection would thrill me. Toss in a GBC Collection and the two Legacy games in the oddball pack and I'm sold! Would definitely love all the X games in a Collection as well.
Wonder if BN and SF fans will get Collections too someday?
@faint What does that have to do with anything? Are you saying games have never been announced for unreleased systems? Every hardware launch day had a surprise pack of games?
It's not coming. Capcom barely acknowledges the Switch.
Games that are legitimately not able to run on the Switch or 3DS I could understand, but this is just such a missed opportunity.
@Yasume This game wasn't announced at all. It was outed by a Korean Ratings Board. If there's no Switch in Korea, there's zero reason for Capcom to seek a rating for a Switch version. @faint is right, this news neither confirms nor denies anything relating to a Switch version.
@Yasume The previous collection was on 3DS, and this new one contains a SNES and two WiiWare titles. Explain to me how that isn't relevant?
@Whopper744
You mean they don't want it to come out ? Why ?
(I'm not sure if you're saying N is preventing the release or preventing the lack of release though)
Aren't 9 and 10 the only ones that are worh it ?
@Tempestryke With you on the Mega Man Battle Network and Mega Man Star Force collections idea, those games actually have something to gain from collection releases, and haven't had them before.
In Both series' case could allow Overseas players to access much of the Japanese exclusive content, In Battle Networks case it'd be a great excuse to localize the DS enhanced port off BN1, Operate Shooting Star, and in Star Force's case the series could undergo a big resolution boost(DS games are much prettier when this happens.) The battles could go from 30 to 60 fps, and they could bring back the Online multiplayer systems and features, as well as all the wi-fi events that were unfortunately lost to the Nintendo Wi-Fi connection shutdown of 2014.
There's plenty of artwork in both series, and the gameplay in those games is so diverse that there are several creative ways they could go about more modes in the style of challenges, boss rushes, survival etc.
Collections for those two series' NEED to happen eventually.
@Tibob 7, 8 and MM&B are good too, the people that take issue with them usually do so because they prefer the physics of the 8-bit games.
Personally I think the non 8 bit installments are just as good, heck MM Powered-Up is arguably the best 2D Mega Man game imo.
@EternalDragonX I know right?
@Yasume it's a Korean rating that was outed. If the system isn't out in Korea then no need to rate it. I can't say it in a simpler way.
@Yasume and the wiiu never came out in Korea. Nintendo just fired 3 quarters of Nintendo of Koreas staff. There is not date what so ever for the switch in Korea. I doubt the switch will launch there.
That would be quite the bummer - I owned the Steam and 3DS versions of the original release, and found that it played a bit better on the 3DS. That console is made for side-scrollers, given its excellent d-pad, so I'll remain optimistic for a portable version.
This is what the first legacy collection should have been.
I hope this means another collection of Disney games from Capcom someday. I want to replay Goof Troop.
@Tempestryke You realize that these games are each under 100 megabytes? There is plenty of space and no reason but greed to have separate collections.
Well this means nothing if the Switch isn't in that country... But it's simple really. Bring to Switch or no buy. Either way, I'm fine with it.
I'll have enough excellent games from Nintendo and 3rd parties alone, so any developers who don't want my money, that's fine. I won't be buying their games on my other systems. If it's a game that should reasonably be on Switch, then either bring it or no buy.
At the rate great games are coming to Switch, I could go this entire generation and play nothing else (And I haven't since March 3rd). I'll be happy to add some of these games to my collection to vye for my attention, but no Switch version means no purchase, simple as that. Bring it and I'll be happy to purchase. Or don't and I'll be happy to spend that money on other Switch games. Tons of NeoGeo releasing, and once official VC drops there will be no shortage of endless retro classics to lay claim on my gaming dollars
@ElekidDude
And megaman 5 my personal favorite in the series is glitchy and has not been patched even when doing challenges it glitches during mm5 areas.
I just hope this comes out on the 3DS at least, I don't care for 7 or 8 because I already have means to play them portable, but 9 and 10 are missing a portable format and this would be the best time to give that to us.
Hell this collection should be on 3DS/Switch/Vita too.
Calm down everybody, I'm sure we'll get this.
It'll probably just come a little later to the Switch.
And if not, then just get it on PC or something.
I just finished the first Legacy Edition...or at least the games.
Re-beating some of them, but beating 4-6 for the first time.
Lots of fun!
Re-beating the X games on my New Nintendo 3DS now.
Stuck on the final boss, sure is a female dog.
@EternalDragonX No I didn't realize that.
Yes I have a PS4 no I won't buy it.like Disney afternoon I won't buy unless on Nintendo.yes I know mega Man 8 was on the ps1 but but mega Man only feels right on Nintendo!!
@KidRad got mega Man and bass downloaded on my Wii u
Switch is so underpowered it couldn't handle the Disney Afternoon collection so it isn't surprising that it can't handle a Mega man collection that was originally released on even more powerful consoles.
If this is true then just bring this over to the Switch or better yet just release the GameCube Mega Man Anniversary Collection for VC. C'mon Capcom don't be dumb like Nintendo and ignore money.
The emulation woes from LC that never got patched are disappointing and the Disney Afternoon Collection wasn't an improvement either. It fixed some button and sound lag but it stutters frequently sometimes even to a halt. Capcom needs to grind out their lazy implementation of NES ROMs before they get another penny from this guy
Can we port beg here? Is this a more 'appropriate venue'?
Oh, no, again? C'mon Capcom!
I suppose the Switch couldn't handle this CPU powerhouse either?
@8-Bit_Zorldo I hear you I have both the Anniversary mega man collection for gamecube & I also got the mega Man x anniversary collection too. Both of those were stellar deals at the time, now adays they give us the smaller garbage to penny and dime people more.
