Japan is a huge market for nintendo, and nintendo is a Japanese company. S2 is expensive everywhere. The console seems to be powerful, playing Prime 4 at 4K60. Biggest issue, to me, is the price of games and the new empty card thing. Having Bravely Default incomplete on a 1gb cart with just a few lines of code to trigger a download. FYI, MK9 is being sold in FR carrefour at 69 EURO, not 89.

@N00BiSH Not really. Gamers care more about specs and funcionnalities and they know the market. They know that a device running on windows is a disadvantage. In that regard, xbox competes directly with Steamdeck. But then there is another totally different market and arena: Casuals. This represent the largest chunk of sales. Casuals have no idea what Valve, or Steamdeck is, unless their kids ask specifically for one. To casuals, there are brands: PS, xbox and nintendo. Xbox is a console and will compete with directly Switch. Don't get me wrong. for us; the real competition is Steamdeck, but we don't represent the majority. This device will compete with S2, and I'm pretty confident S2 will wipe the floor with this xbox handheld. Even sold at a loss, as usual, it cannot compete with the "Mario Kart and Pokémon machine". This is why nintendo remains unmatched, unbeatable in that domain. As usual, xbox, lack of ideas and too late. They will loose to S2 (and eventually, to a new Sony handheld), and will share the market with Steamdeck, Lenovo, ASUS, GPD, AyaNeo, Acer. The only selling point xbox has is the xbox pass...and that's not really selling xbox consoles right now.
Considering dev costs, In my opinion, one of the dumbest, if not the dumbest decision xbox has made.

I adore this game. I'm so glad it will get a second chance. And I'm glad it will be ported to Switch, so now, all 4 games will be on one platform. Porting this to Switch was an absolute necessity. But, between us, I would have killed to see this game on Switch 2.
OG Switch cart will probably look better on Switch 2. Upscaled, maybe, better frame rate, less popups... Can't wait.

I'm surprised that nintendo is apparently keeping the same colour for Switch. We haven't seen S2 carts or boxes yet, and might be different (hopefully NOT bigger!). But I would have chosen a slightly different colour. Or a totally different one. It's always impossible to make these top ten lists. BOTW and not OOT? weird. I personally think that Super Mario 3 had a bigger impact than Super Mario World. I also believe that Super Mario 64 had a much bigger impact in terms of genre.

As long as Switch remains the cheapest option, it will keep selling. And seeing how prices are developing, Switch will be the cheapest console in the market for the next 3 to 4 years. The 3/2ds lived 3 more years after Switch was released. 3/2ds was really cheap and had a great library. If I remember correctly the 2DS that looked like a doorstop was sold at 80 bucks. Amazing price. Lite will probably turn into that highly demanded product. It won't be at 80, but 150 is feasible. According to Statista, in 2017, the 3/2ds sold 7,27 million units. in 2018, 6.4 and in 2019, 2.55 million. The years that 3/2ds coexisted with Switch, it sold 17 million units. And that, for a system that sold half of what Switch sold (more or less). Meaning that numbers will probably be the same, if not higher. We tend to think that everyone already owns this system, but a kid that was born when Switch was released is turning now 7, soon 8. That' s a new "customer". When I became a father, Switch was already around. My son plays with one of the many systems I own and really enjoys the system (thank you, LABO). If I wouldn't be a gamer, I would definitely buy him a Switch lite, would definitely not choose a 500 bucks PS5. When Switch 2 releases, Switch will probably remain as the cheapest option for young kids that want a gaming device. If Switch dethroning the PS2 is a thing for you, do not worry, it will happen, even if Sony keeps updating their "final" sales.
@Freek Hi Allow me to do exactly the opposite. I ordered a fair amount of games. Around 12 orders. So I can say I pretty much know their business Their graphic designer(s) is top notch. Manufacture quality is bad. signed NMH 3 for Switch quality is bad. Poorly made. Outer box had manufacture issues. Replaced it and shipped a copy with similar issues. Windjammers had a similar issue.
Their site still crashes.

@fenlix I guess, you might have a point there. I say might because Sony handhelds were one step behind. PSP was on par with PS2 in PS3 era, Vita on par with PS3 in PS4 era. Sony handhelds kept losing relevance due to a lack of support and vision from Sony's part. If I remember correctly, to Sony; smartphone gaming was supposed to kill portable gaming. That didn't happen. There was a huge market for that. What we see today is the proof. But in order to be successful, you must support your device. Affordable PS4 levels now are possible. Thew weren't possible 7 years ago when Switch was released. But Sony keeps pushing specs. So with that attitude, we can both agree that releasing a portable device is ridiculous. I believe we agree there.

OG Switch will still sell until they sell out. Switch is still selling because the other consoles in the market are twice the price, and no everybody has a switch. Everybody in this thread does, but not in the real world.
When S2 releases, S1 will remain the most affordable console with an impressive catalogue. Will still sell millions.

BOTW and not OOT? weird. I personally think that Super Mario 3 had a bigger impact than Super Mario World. I also believe that Super Mario 64 had a much bigger impact in terms of genre.

I still remember how mind-blowing 2D to 3D era was, and one the games that captured and showcased the possibilities of 3D were both SM64 and OOT.
And I would keep BOTW on that list, but we shouldn't have 2 Zeldas. Since this is a nintendo site, we can make an exception.

As long as Switch remains the cheapest option, it will keep selling. And seeing how prices are developing, Switch will be the cheapest console in the market for the next 3 to 4 years.
The 3/2ds lived 3 more years after Switch was released. 3/2ds was really cheap and had a great library. If I remember correctly the 2DS that looked like a doorstop was sold at 80 bucks. Amazing price. Lite will probably turn into that highly demanded product. It won't be at 80, but 150 is feasible.
According to Statista, in 2017, the 3/2ds sold 7,27 million units. in 2018, 6.4 and in 2019, 2.55 million. The years that 3/2ds coexisted with Switch, it sold 17 million units. And that, for a system that sold half of what Switch sold (more or less). Meaning that numbers will probably be the same, if not higher.
We tend to think that everyone already owns this system, but a kid that was born when Switch was released is turning now 7, soon 8. That' s a new "customer". When I became a father, Switch was already around. My son plays with one of the many systems I own and really enjoys the system (thank you, LABO). If I wouldn't be a gamer, I would definitely buy him a Switch lite, would definitely not choose a 500 bucks PS5. When Switch 2 releases, Switch will probably remain as the cheapest option for young kids that want a gaming device. If Switch dethroning the PS2 is a thing for you, do not worry, it will happen, even if Sony keeps updating their "final" sales.

Their graphic designer(s) is top notch. Manufacture quality is bad.
signed NMH 3 for Switch quality is bad. Poorly made. Outer box had manufacture issues. Replaced it and shipped a copy with similar issues. Windjammers had a similar issue.
Their site still crashes.
communication is not great.
Their shipping is crazy expensive (and I live in FR)
Their products are beautiful. Everything else is average to bad.
About this release...for Switch, same version as the one previously released, just a different cover. However, this time, 15 bucks more expensive for the same deal
The price for this special release was never communicated until the actual release You had seconds to find out what the price was and make your decision.
Regarding the lovely PS4 box, they limited that to 50 I believe. For the customers that already own all 4 ps4 releases, they could have sold the box separately. But no.
They basically made ONLY 50 big nice boxes, 4 different covers and everything else was the same, sold at 450 bucks. You find out what the price was when they opened preorders, not before. You had 5 seconds to decide. Just the KoF. celebration fans wanted, right?
Not even LRG tried something this pathetic and manipulative. I don't even own a ps4, don't need to be a KoF fan and PS4 owner to find this FOMO attempt abhorrent.

@fenlix I guess, you might have a point there. I say might because Sony handhelds were one step behind. PSP was on par with PS2 in PS3 era, Vita on par with PS3 in PS4 era. Sony handhelds kept losing relevance due to a lack of support and vision from Sony's part. If I remember correctly, to Sony; smartphone gaming was supposed to kill portable gaming. That didn't happen. There was a huge market for that. What we see today is the proof. But in order to be successful, you must support your device. Affordable PS4 levels now are possible. Thew weren't possible 7 years ago when Switch was released. But Sony keeps pushing specs. So with that attitude, we can both agree that releasing a portable device is ridiculous. I believe we agree there.

Sony was dumb reading the portable market back then when they decided to stop supporting Vita. They have lost their opportunity. Now everyone is onboard.
Sony hardcore fans will buy it at whatever price Sony sets. They will have to support 2 different products with 2 different specs, since I don't see ps5 games running in anything affordable. Or ps6, since this thing might not even be in development
