Nintendo has shared an updated list of Europe's most-downloaded Switch eShop games, revealing which titles were the most popular during September 2021.
This month it's Diablo II: Resurrected's turn to take the limelight, with Nintendo's own WarioWare: Get It Together! having to settle for second place in its debut month. The pair lead a list made up of plenty of familiar names, with last month's number one, Minecraft, very close behind.
You can check out the full list below. It's based on the number of Nintendo eShop downloads (so no physical sales) in European territories during the whole month:
- Diablo II: Resurrected
- WarioWare: Get It Together!
- Minecraft
- Among Us
- Stardew Valley
- Eastward
- FIFA 22
- Castlevania Advance Collection
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Slime Rancher: Plortable Edition
- Townscaper
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons
- Sonic Colors Ultimate
- Pokémon Sword
- Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury
Did you download any of these titles on Switch last month? Any surprises in the top 15? Tell us below.

Fifa 22 being in the top 10 makes me feel sick. Nice that Warioware has sold alright thoug
Are NL planning to review diablo2?
On the one hand I like seeing third party games do well.
On the other hand Activision Blizaard is a terrible CCP enabling, sexist, exploitative piece of(Insert Stream of vulgar expletives here ) and Bobby Kotick can go eat a bag of(More expletives)
None of their games are worth supoorting in this day and age of so much choice in gaming.
@BigE
All Blizzard games should be reviewed 0/10 until Bobby Kotick is canned WITHOUT his golden parachute. Or simply not reviewed.
I bought Diablo 2 yesterday to play with a friend of mine, having never touched the game before. And one session later, yeah I'd say it's really, really good. It's not hard to see why this game has received such classic status.
@Pikachupwnage I agree that some of the CEO’s and higher ups at Blizzard stink, but there are also a lot of honest employees at Blizzard that worked on this game that worked their buts off, just want to release a nice game and get bread on their table for themselves and their families.
I am currently on Hell Act 4 with my Paladin and I am loving it! It is so much comfortable with controller than with mouse and keyboard (at least for me!!!)
I still can't believe we can't play couch co-op in the same system.. i was really planning to grab to play with my wife..
@Pikachupwnage I decided to stop buying Activision Blizzard games until 2023, I love the Crash Bandicoot and Spyro series, but people are more important.
But I'm not going to boycott them forever because if I want to be coherent, I won't be able to buy anything, phones are made with slave labor, but I need a phone, it's a basic necessity nowadays, and if I buy a chocolate bar or anything from Nestlé, I'm supporting something worse than sexual harassment: Dead babies, droughts and child slavery.
@Pikachupwnage SO TRUE!!! Big Boy Bobby shouldn't be getting away with this in any sort of form
I can’t get into the Diablo games, am I a broken individual?
@Pikachupwnage you do realize there is no such thing as ethical consumption in a capitalist system. The fact that you buy anything at all means you are complicit to numerous societal injustices
Surprised and delighted to see Townscaper charting.
I'm surprised DDLC Plus isn't still in the top 10. The physical copy releases today and I'm heading to Best Buy to get my pre-ordered copy in a couple hours.
Mario Kart 8 is barely in top 10; time for Mario Kart 9. 😛
Of course FIFA 22 Legacy Edition is on the list. THOSE EUROPEANS are buying this regardless.
But I am glad to see Castlevania Advance Collection doing well on Switch
No Cruis'n Blast? Boo.
FIFA 22 launched on October 1st, so it manage to crack the September European Top 7 with just one or two days worth of sales. Pretty impressive for such a blatantly shoddy product - goes to show the strength of the FIFA brand.
@BigE since release, I was wondering the samething. But then someone brought up the whole blizzard debacle, and I thought "huh, that sucks for vicarious visions, the devs of diablo ii: re" but then seeing how dii:re is number one on the eshop in the uk, I guess those people are just all bluster. Anywho, I bought the prime evil edition, cause it comes with diablo III, as well. Fyi, here in the states, a physical copy of diablo III for switch goes for $150+.
Faith in humanity lost.
WAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!
Good to see people have been enjoying Eastward. Waited years for it to come out and it is definitely living up to my expectations
Well that chart can't be right
Ever since castlevania was released it has been number one and Diablo 2 has been at number 2 on the eShop
See Konami? People will still buy your games when you make a decent effort!
@Mirage-5x5 That's because this is for September only.
FIFA being in the top 10 is the reason that EA doesn't bother trying. What morons are buying it?
@PhhhCough not really. I put my boxed copy up for sale for $50 shipped and no one bought it. Theres a sealed copy on ebay for $99, boxed copies for $60 and cart only copies for $55
@Friendly honestly I dont think anyone at Blizzard has ever worked on the game unless you count marketing. The port was developed by Vicarious Visions. The original game was developed by Blizzard North, which despite the name, was never really Blizzard. They came up with Diablo 1 while they were a different company all together. Blizzard offered to fund Diablo 1 if it was developed for Blizzard, so the company accepted and changed their name to Blizzard North. They had a different office in a different city. They only kept in touch with Blizzard over the phone. When Diablo 1 was a success, Blizzard North again completely developed Diablo 2 alone only keeping in touch over the phone with Blizzard. When Diablo 2 was a success, Blizzard North again began developing Diablo 3 on their own. Partway through the development of Diablo 3, Blizzard called Blizzard North and told them they were going to completely absorb them into Blizzard. Blizzard North said hell no you aint and everyone noteworthy walked off the job and went off to start their own company because they didnt want to be a part of Blizzard.
Thats why I dont mind buying this. There was a lot of heart put into this game by people that arent Blizzard. Sure Blizzard will make money off my purchase, but if the game sells like crap because of a boycott, Vicarious Visions will take the blame. When they try to take on a big project 10 years down the road, they might get turned down, because itll be on their record that their Diablo 2 port was a financial disaster.
@Tim_Vreeland meh, still too expensive for an older game. If I'm gonna spend upwards of $50+s/h, I might as well do, what i did.
I got it for $20, technically. Prime evil had dii and diii for $60, plus I had $20 credit. So win-win. Best of luck to your sales, though.
@ryan craddock haven’t seen any reviews of Diablo 2 on this website so far, are you guys boycotting blizzard or something?
Alot of good titles in that list. My favorite one out of all of them would be Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury. The open world of the new content is fantastic and worth a play for every 3D Mario fan. I loved collecting everything and enjoyed each level. One of my standout moments in gaming at the time.
