On the wikipedia page it says it was to avoid trademark issues and yeah I'd assume that'd be hard to trademark.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess the game is really CPU-bound.
The Switch is particularly lacking on the CPU and the amount of Pikmin on screen, with their own AI, the back and forth between characters, must be very CPU-hungry.
Ngl though 60fps would've been nice, or at least 1080p.

@abdias That's not true, it still uses the gyro from the joycons. However, it simply uses the right joycon's motion controls, so it doesn't matter if the left one has it.

Fan creations are always derivative, and you'll eventually find something that ressembles what Nintendo themselves are doing.
Like, is the dude really complaining about Nintendo doing a fairly obvious idea with the character? One of the most famous characters in gaming and the trendy genre right now?

These collections are essentially museums for video games and that's what this looks like.

@popey1980 In my experience they're almost always employees or an employee got it for them.

I don't think I've ever regreted investing in a game before, like, a game can be bad, but I haven't had a game devalue my purchase before. Not only is the game I paid for now free, but all the DLC I bought is not going to be part of the cross save feature because it's before the current DLC model. At least I'm glad I never got around to buying it on PC like I intended to.

This'll be like 20 bucks on black friday sales.

They pretty much designed it to reward current ranks while pretty much giving previous DLC buyers as little as possible.
This feels more like an effort to force people to link an Epic account and use their store instead of Steam.

@Heavyarms55 Weird, outside of obviously budget alternatives, I'd even say their quality is above some of the competitor's first party controllers.
Their D-pad Joycon has been a mainstay on my Switch for over a year, and their arcade stick is still the best for the platform. Their portable stand is also a must for charging while on tabletop.

Your perspective on PC being neutral is kinda confusing given it has more in common with consoles than the Switch.
I have an Xbox One, although I don't know what that has to do with this particular discussion.

@Ventilator None, again, why would that matter? Sony does have a handful exclusives on PC, though.

I gotta give it to them, EA are marketing geniuses. Look at all the free exposure people are giving a cover it probably took an intern 1 minute to paste together.

@Kidfunkadelic83 So a couple things.
There's a 500gb PS4, and the new CoD is around 200gb. That's one game, plenty of 100+ gb games out there too.
They might not "require" you to buy HDDs, but incredibly impractical to not do so.
On other systems, Spyro the Dragon Trilogy has required downloads for some of it's games just like on Swit h, as well as deluxe editions simply coming with a voucher for the extra content.
Storage is not a Switch-exclusive issue.

The moral of the story here is to not invest money in always-online games. They'll just disappear one day.

He's a very fun character, also has the best Alts. in all of Smash.

@OdnetninAges Banjo has been the most hype a 3rd party reveal for me.

To me it's fascinating that games media only cares when review bombs are negative.
But blind 10/10's that say "I'm so hyped for this game" are perfectly fine.

@RupeeClock Classic Sonic has always been a little redundant imo since Modern Sonic goes 2D a lot in the boost games.

@TG16_IS_BAE Pretty sure you're a troll, but will still set the record straight. If they had to rework and fine tune the game to work on a new platform, they had to pay a group of devs to do so.
Asking them to make it cheaper on top, would lead to actually bad ports, or no ports at all.

People will complain if the game just gets minor bug fixes after launch, and they'll complain if it gets constant rollouts.
Animal Crossing are games where you can fall into a routine fairly easy. The rollouts really encourage revisiting and mixing things up.

@nessisonett I think that's the reason we have seen so little amiibo outside of Smash since it came out.
They know it can be successful as long as they don't repeat their mistake with the Animal Crossing line.

I've found the Pro controller's drifting issues are mostly caused by dust getting inside the mechanism, a compressed air can and a q-tip with alcohol solved mine and two months on, everything works perfectly.

@ChromaticDracula That first one is hard to tell, all the PS1 titles look similar, but the second one is from Tomb Raider Anniversary and the last one is from Lara Croft and the Guardian of the Light.

This would be great, I hope it's as comprehensive as possible.

Super Smash Bros. Bumping Burisin' Brawling Bash is overrated.

@Crockin I feel similarly to when Overwatch came out on Switch.
I like the game, and the Switch is my favorite console. But supporting ther company, specially at the time, it didn't feel right.

@JimmySpades Playing through most Mario or Zelda games must be hard for you.

@Cool_Squirtle What I do with those is I pick the highest res one and zoom it in a little. I do that with the Calendar ones a lot.

@N00BiSH Well there's already a handful official arcade sticks for Switch, some of them are even fairly small.

Look at almost any MCU poster of Black Widow, pretty much Elma's pose there.
