Re: Poll: Which Was Your First 'Final Fantasy'?

Nintendo_Alski

VII was my first one when I got my PlayStation back in the day and it blew my mind, although I've still never completed it as I rushed through the story without grinding my characters enough and got obliterated by one of the late game bosses. The same happened with X. The first one I completed was XIII which I actually really enjoyed even though it gets loads of hate. XIII-2 is still to this day the only xbox 360 game I've 100% completed with all achievements, but I have to say FF tactics on the gba is my all time favourite.

Re: Splatoon 3's Mobile App SplatNet Has Received A Minor Update

Nintendo_Alski

This is a cool update. Now I can be reminded that I spent a whole weekend grinding big run and finished with a high score of 87 (which I thought was pretty good) only to find the cut off for the top 50% was 88! 😮‍💨😓😭 all I got was the plastic statue, which I could have just played one game all weekend and got the same thing lol. Guess I need to 'git good' haha

Re: Video: Watch This Splatoon 3 Pro Team Collect 241 Golden Eggs In A "World Record" Salmon Run

Man this I impressive, I was happy with my record of 87 for a run until I saw this! 🤣 As others have said though, it's a bit of a gamble as to what kind of team you'll be put with, but so far most people I've been put with seem to know what they're doing. One good tip for the King Salmonids is to use the egg launcher to kill other Boss salmonids with one shot, effectively turning one egg into 3, which saves burning valuable time on them. It also pays to have at least one player with a strong weapon constantly hammering him.

Re: Soapbox: Super Mario Sunshine Wasn't Bad, It Was Just Ahead Of Its Time

Hehe good article Kate.
I personally don't hate mario sunshine, I've had it since it came out on the gamecube and recently picked up 3d all-stars and tried to give it another chance. I think the crippling difficulty of some of the levels is what's stopped me from completing it all these years, it still bugs me that it's one of the only mario games I've not finished.
The cleaning aspect it's pretty zen though I agree!

Re: Feature: How Video Games Can Be Brilliant For Your Mental Health

Nintendo_Alski

Great Article Kate, thank you. I have personally suffered with various mental health issues over the last few years for various reasons and games and socialising via games has really helped me. The bit about being 'alone together' really resonated with me as I usually play xbox with a group of friends just to chat and have a laugh, even if we're playing different games. I have held the opinion for a long time that its helped me socialise and get that much needed communication and friendly banter that I would otherwise miss out on, especially when that wasn't possible due to the pandemic.
