I picked it up on Tuesday and have played it every day since. It's awesome. As a retro gamer and someone old enough to remember the original games, something about it just feels like a 'proper ' sonic game. It's like there's finally a sequel to Sonic 3. (I'm not counting Sonic 4 as that was realeased in parts and never felt like a full game to me..)

Still have my DS version of this. A beautiful classic. I'm surprised there are no pin badges with the special edition though.....

My 3ds is now so stable that it includes some hay and a couple of horses!

This is quite a cool accomplishment and an interesting project although I'm not sure his idea of 'jokes' and mine are quite the same 🤣

I still can't get over how little you get on the new rewards system compared to the glory days of physical rewards via club nintendo. granted these seem like solid games but when you consider how much money you have to spend to rack up gold points its ridiculous. I'll just admire all my lovely goodies like the gold mario kart wheel and xenoblade collectors coins... sigh.

I find it hilarious that the Wii U was apparently so 'ill fated' and 'only 3 people ever bought one' yet 90% of the new switch releases are Wii U ports so now these games are accceptable and cool? I still play my Wiiu regularly and I'm sure that a lot of other people do to. I intend to buy a switch at some point but will certainly not deride wii u gamers or look down on them with such snobbery as other users of this site seem to do as it's a quality little console with a top class games library and it will remain part of my collection along with it's Nes, snes, n64, gameboy, GC and Wii siblings!

still got a lot of love for my wiiu. 96 hours into BOTW, still yet to start xenoblade, bayonetta or yoshi wooly world. ill be downloading this when its released! 😎

Aw man I was in Japan for a 3 week tour in 2011 and came home at the beginning of April so must have just missed this place opening. There were lots of places to pick up retro games though in Osaka my only regret is not bringing more home. I'll be sure to check this place out when I manage to get back there! 😎

this looks pretty cool but as I already own nearly every iteration of the game boy including 3 SP's I doubt I'll be investing in this. think they've missed a trick by not making it display as a GB color or SP would.

solid list Alex, agree with most especially eternal darkness and twin snakes but I would have included either of the viewtiful joe games, fire emblem and battalion wars.

I'm genuinely saddened by this news. I've really enjoyed miiverse as a bit of an artist myself I've enjoyed creating and posting my work with fellow gamers. Ive also enjoyed seeing the phenomenal level of skill that others have on there for artwork, some of it is mind blowing. It felt like a relitavely 'safe' and fluffy little corner of the internet. The fact that a lot of my favourite wiiu titles will lose features is also a shame. RIP Miiverse!

I love my WiiU its a great little console with some cracking games. All this talk of it being 'ill fated' makes me want to defend it somehow. I do intend to get a switch but as i already own mario kart 8, splatoon and breath of the wild on wiiu i probably wont rush to get one until mario is out. There's plenty of life left in the old dog yet! 😎

Really hope i can get one of these. I'm pretty happy with the games line up for the PAL version although would have preferred super sf2 over turbo as its the best in the series IMO. The lack of an ac adaptor does seem pretty tight though...

@slaz it will definitely work for all games, not just sf2. Just think of it as a spare controller

@ajcismo that does seem kinda weird but personally I always remap the buttons when playing Sf2 or similar games anyway. For what it's worth i always prefer fightsticks over control pads for beat em ups. Still got my SF4 one for 360 and wii tatsunoko vs capcom one stashed in my cupboard. 😎

I'll be interested to see if this actually becomes a thing, but also to see if there will be 2 versions of it as here in the UK the snes looked like the Japanese super famicom but over on the US they got that hulking great purple boxy thing (no offence intended) so that will be interesting.

@metalgario it was so good wasnt it!? I remember wishing I had a nes at the time and being blown away when they announced the super nes lol! They are probably worth a few quid now as I've kept them pretty mint but don't ever want to part with them. Rip Total! Magazine. I also miss ONM of course too, their free gifts were so good

These magazines look pretty cool but as a kid I loved mean machines, super play and Total! - in fact I still have the first few issues of total and super play stashed away in my loft

I loved Street fighter 2 in the arcade as a teen and have just realised how many times I've actually purchased it : original on snes, game boy colour, turbo revival on gba, sf collection 1 and 2 on ps1, hyper sf2 on ps2, sf collection on xbox, HD remix on 360. That's not including all the alpha, ex, and puzzle spin offs! I'll be buying this too when I get a switch.. I think there's something wrong with me.......

I love the dizzy games! I had dizzy, treasure island dizzy, fantasy world dizzy and fast food (a pac man style spin off) on the amstrad cpc464. I also own the Nes dizzy game (my only boxed NES game) so I would totally back this on kickstarter as a physical release ! 😍✌🤓

I've completed this on the 360 so doubt I'll be buying it again but it is a truly awesome game.

The colours look much brighter and clearer on the wiiu version? Weird.

Am I the only one that doesn't obsess over framerate statistics? Maybe it's because I'm old? My wiiu version plays fine and I care more about the game play than if it's 60fps.

I own a copy of the original master system game and I just found a load of save codes scribbled on the back! Can't wait to give this a go. 😎
