@Highlar75 no you need to rebuy everything. each expansion. if you say, have the complete edition on PS5 but only starter edition on NS2, you're not gonna be able to access or use anything from the expansions of endwalker an dawntrail.
so if you have everything on one platform, to access it you need everything on the other platform too.
@Highlar75 you made a square enix account to play xiv. your licenses are activated an tied to said account. you can see it on your SE account management what you do an don't own.
so when you boot the game on S2, you'll login to your SE account an it'll then run you through tying your purchase to your SE account.
an no, your collectors stuff is all there an activated so you only need access on switch 2. basically, you just need the normal edition of all the expansions. you'll have all your stuff.
@DonierGunad thats about the size on pc. its even larger on xbox an ps5.
@OorWullie you are locked out of social features though. like you can't make your own party but can be invited to one.
you can't trade. you can't join an FC (Free Company. the guilds of xiv), you can't send tells (whisper), etc.
World isn't a bad game, its just not really a mario kart game. I've always known mario kart to be like a tight cornering chaotic race. very arcade like.
world is like some mix of open world kart bmx. its just very...different. too different. it really strays a bit too far from what made mario kart, mario kart. game has less driving an more wall riding an grinding than anything. it just didn't click with me or a single one of my friends whatsoever.
yeah an the restock sold out instantly too...i'm not going to say its a bad piece of hardware, many of my friends have an use it daily, but it is absolutely not worth THAT much.
@Res462 @Picola-Wicola i mean. if you mean how the gyro is based on gravity an holding it upright makes it wonky then thats normal. you have to hold it flat. sadly that means hunching over.
i did just test it in handheld (leon must die) an the only thing that threw me off was the framerate. i will definitely stop derailing off topic tho.
definitely feel like the gamechat thing works due to the engine constantly scaling more than anything.
looking forward to this. disappointed it doesn't seem to have online gameshare as i would've loved playing this with a friend but its not an absolute dealbreaker.
@ChromaticDracula yeah. the market is seriously flooded right now. the dam really is just close to breaking again. for more than just gaming this time.
good luck with not getting addicted to pokopia though lol. i'm still on the fence with SF since i played 64 to death as a kid. it'd just be the multiplayer draw for me. especially the online gameshare.
@AussieMcBucket its alot of reasons. overall the series s has way more power than the switch 2. Tech wise, switch 2 is newer. basically a showcase of how far tech has come to put that much on a handheld.
was excited for this with many others.I actively play xiv on pc atm. was looking for another convenient way to play it since i stopped using the xbox online.
that random an unnecessary xiv only extra sub on the system well an truly put the brakes on all of us looking at this port. its already expensive as is to play the game over time, more money on top of it is an instant step back. will have to see how much but i doubt i'll have it there now. it'd have to be the only place i'd play an theres just no reason for me to do that when i have it on pc already.
I had fun with it tbh. Still remember my friend steering an throwing me all over the place as R.O.B but it was overall pretty fun. I do know what irked most people was ones who did not want to learn gyro so it was rough for them, saw it first hand. they couldn't shoot anything.
i think it'd be different now though when alot more people have learned how to use gyro.
have all the platforms but i've been leaning to get it on switch 2. i've been doing alot of pick up an play lately an the S2 has been a godsend in that regard. that an i want to use gyro. the procon 2 has been one of the better pads i've used so gyro with it would be great for me.
maybe i'll get it for pc down the line but despite the performance issues, S2 seems to be a better pick for me atm.
@TerribleTerabytes i never said i was bad at the game.
whats stopping anyone from playing it....is that we don't want to.
if the open world was meant for training...why do we not have training options to enhance that. Open world is a sandbox playground. Theres not much to play there.
mario kart has always done different things. the problem is that its deviated so far, it isn't mario kart.
trying to tell me 'i'm wrong do this' is not the answer. thats the worst way to go about it.
Crossworlds feels safe. Theres just not really much there. No real game changing gimmick, its just a casual kart racer. its fun an feels good to control but there isn't any real hook for the game for the long term. all stars had the crossovers galore an transformed had that with changing tracks. TSR had the fun team mechanic but was very buggy and the tracks was bland. Only real thing crossworlds has going for it is the second lap of a track will never be the same as the track itself. The game is definitely fun, its just...lacking?
@TerribleTerabytes okay i've been reading through all the comments an yours keeps popping up that makes me go "ugh".
There is something very extreme about MK World that you're just ignoring.
MK World appeals to a different demographic than what all mario karts before it appealed to. I'm one of those people that honestly loves the thought of improving. I'm always trying to improve in a game because its just really fun to me. You'd think MK World would then appeal to me but it doesn't. I actually can't stand world personally. I waited for a new mario kart for over a decade because i was day 1 with 8 on wii u. i've played all the mario karts an loved my time with every single one of them. i've played endless hours of it by myself an with friends alike. we still play all of them as we feel like it. except world. we just did not like world. we really liked it at first but it didn't take but the span of a few hours for all of that to disappear (except the music, god that ost is godlike.) because the racing part disappeared an the chaos disappeared. idk about you but every single race, the item usage plays out the exact same way to the point that people are playing around the expectancy of being hit with a map wide attack at a very specific point. I have two friends left who play the game who casually practice the tricking. Both agree its not mario kart.
Its BMX kart time trials.
thats fine but thats not mario kart. its not appealing to the demographic of mario kart fans. its appealing to an entirely different demographic. an personally, the open world should not have even existed. why did we even need that, its mario kart. this isn't need for speed or burnout. Mario kart is a party game. flat out. its always had room for skill but its also equally had chaos to make sure everyone had a chance. none of that is here, especially on the competitive level. its all controlled an thats where i draw the line with it lol. so i probably just won't touch it again unless i'm asked to. the last time i was asked was 5 months ago.
@BulkSlash 200cc is in crossworlds. just have to beat all the cups at 150cc.
i'm firmly in the camp that mario kart world should have just been a different IP entirely. I just do not see the game as mario kart. its just aimed at an entirely different crowd an just was not for me. i'd rather actually drive on the course an master handling at high speeds than bmx on a car. all of my friends an myself quit that game in a week. something we have never did for any mario kart.
sonic crossworlds is honestly more mario kart than mario kart itself atm lol. it honestly is just an incredibly good game an somehow is always a rush when playing online. something i haven't really felt since wii u mario kart 8. sega really did just nail it.
between sonic an kirby, i'm extremely set racing wise. i have zero use for world and i honestly regret buying it.
honestly gears 5 was my first thought when i saw the direct. i'm hoping its not anything like that, it was completely pointless to have any of those open world segments in gears 5. myself and everyone i know hated it. it served no purpose unlike the vehicle levels in previous gears.
the motion controls just did not work for me. many times i tried to just go forward and i swear i did the quickest 180 i ever did and it refused to let me turn around.
it was fun when it worked. but it worked far less than it didn't
@OldGamer999 not trying to defend randy or anything cause the 30fps was definitely a deal breaker for me on switch 2 an may just get it elsewhere.
but crossplay has absolutely nothing to do with framerate lol. what he meant was he didn't want to cut content so to keep that, its going to need more processing power an thats gonna lower framerate.
I doubt you want an inferior version just for more frames.
@VoidofLight thats alright, i say bro to my friends that are girls too.
its not a spoiler. its just a "hey this is when you can expect this." because fun fact. chapter 5 was supposed to release with 3 an 4. just didn't go as planned. its not some kind of mind bending narrative. its an ETA.
