Re: Surprise! PS1 Cult Classic 'Fear Effect' Just Shadow-Dropped On Switch

This is exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for when it comes to rereleasing old games on new hardware - no overpolished graphical remake or whatever, just the game in its original state, with a few new options to make it more palatable for the modern day and all at a fairly reasonable price. It's what the standard for games preservation should be.

Which makes it all the more frustrating that Limited Run Games is involved in this.

Also, where's Fear Effect 2?

@coolioam It's been two years and five games. "Let him learn" isn't an excuse anymore. Most actors don't need 7 years to get good at their parts because that's not how acting works. At that point you get someone else.

Telling me to "move on" isn't going to work because unfortunately for the both of us I can't unchange how strongly I feel about stuff like this and I won't be complacent with what I feel are bad choices being made by Nintendo. It's like telling people to get over Game Key Cards, it's just not going to work.

And to clarify, I have nothing against Kevin as a person, at the end of the day he's just doing his job. Again. it's Nintendo making bad choices that's the real issue for me.

I know there's at least one person sick of me saying this and I really am sorry,

but UUUUUUUGGGGGGGHHHHHH KEVINNNNNNN WHYYYY

It isn't even that he's godawful! When he's just yipping and yahoo-ing he's passable! But when he talks? And tries to say actual words?

UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Like, the shorts themselves? Cute, charming and nicely animated. The laid-back rearrangements of Mario themes are fun to hear. But this one fly just won't get away from the soup and it's neutering my enjoyment significantly.

[sigh] I miss Charles.

Re: Kirby Air Riders Direct: Every Announcement - How Would You Rate It?

A solid, meaty direct. Sakurai came in, beat the "he hates modern Kirby" allegations, and managed to offer a substantial racing game that makes Mario Kart World look like Konami Krazy Racers. There's the odd cynic kvetching about how "It's just more Air Ride and that there's no crazy distracting gimmick," but honestly a more refined and fleshed out version of what Air Ride offered can be more than enough for a game like this.

Still wondering where Top Ride is, though.
