Tbh I was about to give up on Skylanders. While the characters looked cool, Superchargers' vehicle gimmick didn't amaze me all that much. And they were getting in the way cost-wise as I was more focused on amiibos. But this amiibo collaboration really rejuvenated my interest. I kept watching the showcases for this game on Nintendo Treehouse at E3 and it looks fantastic!

Oh so there will be co-op on the Wii U version? Good, so I definitely am gonna get this.

Yeah I'm like 100% certain the no Miiverse means no in game messages. There's definitely gonna be a community, don't worry !

I honestly never thought they were OP. The only thing I questioned was the huge amount of items from Kid Icarus. As well as enemies in Smash Run being majority from Kid Icarus.

Now if they could introduce Zelda amiibos. I'd totally be down if I could get amiibos of Ruto, Tetra, Fi, and others!

At least it's not a major reveal leaked. Just a 3DS version of a pre-existing game.

I'm sorta confused when I saw the trailer though because it uses their original, colorful appearances like the original lego marvel superheroes game. But the artwork for this game uses a more detailed version of the minifigures as they appear in the Age of Ultron playsets as you see in this very article. So I'm gonna assume that's how they'll look in the Age of Ultron levels for this game.

I wish I could but I already own Guacamelee, Woah Dave, and Mighty Switch Force. I have most of the games offered anyway cause I'm always buying indie titles on Nintendo consoles cause I love the selection and supporting indie devs.

In the end I'm collecting them cause they're really nice figures in general. The unlocks that they come with are just a nice bonus.

@Marshi I got that last night. Every game I got into would be just fine, then soon things got laggy to the point where I "don't have an internet connection" and need to reset. I never had this problem until last night tho. But I kept happening every time I wanted to play where I just called it quits for he night. I hope it works better today when I get home.

Also, I'm just curious. Where does Donkey Kong fall then in terms of his code? Is he filed as a Mario character or a Donkey Kong character since he has his own franchise?

I believe amiibos will push nintendo into either reviving or creating new characters and IP. Cause I honestly can't imagine them continuously making new Mario amiibos, kids will tire of it easily seeing the same characters over and over. They need to continue sparking interest with new characters. Of course they still have a LOT they can use before having to make entirely new characters. But I feel even Chibi-Robo is a sign of this. Sudden revival with a figure that could likely spark a new interest in Chibi-Robo and potentially expand the IP into a full blown franchise if kids and collectors buy up his amiibo and upcoming game.

The cameos and crossovers they could've done with other Nintendo franchises via amiibo would've been amazing. But I imagine they didn't go with that cause they want Splatoon to stand on its own two feet as a new franchise and not drive in popularity off of other franchises. But that's not to say they can't do it later down the road like Mario Kart 8. Be yourself at first, then expand with DLC and amiibo content referencing other nintendo games. There's so much they could do!

Idk if this "age gate" thing would work tho. There's kids on miiverse with SEVERAL alternate accounts that they make as soon as they get banned. What could stop them from all making new accounts where they'll just lie about their age?

So out of this selection, I want Mickey, Minnie, Quorra, & Disgust the most.

If there are gonna be more Nintendo-selected DLC characters after Lucas, they need to definitely make it clear that they were NOT chosen via the Fighter Ballot. I can imagine a lot of people yelling "WHO VOTED FOR [CHARACTER]!?!?!?!?"

@KodyDawg I for one am happy they went with all the Inside Out characters. I was afraid they were just gonna go with Joy & Sadness. That's why I was upset with 2.0 having only Baymax & Hiro and just completely ignored the other 4 members of Big Hero 6. It bothers me when they ignore other characters in a group and just go with the main ones.

I didn't really enjoy Disney Infinity when I played it, but the figures were very nice and collectible. I told myself I have to stop since I'm not even playing the game, that I should just focus on amiibos. But dang, these are cute!

PLEASE let there be more packs! These are so beautiful, I'd happily buy more! I want a Pikmin Pack that comes with a playable Olimar. Or maybe a Kirby pack since everyone's been wanting Kirby since the Rosalina Smash Trailer. Or maybe even a Luigi's Mansion Pack that comes with E. Gadd & King Boo and the Poltergust 4000.

I had a feeling this would happen. It' not a bad thing tho, sacrifices were bound to be made, happens all the time in development, especially for games this large of a scale.

I was already set on getting this, but now this confirms a definite day 1 buy from me!

Those are literally just filler spaces that don't mean anything, they've been there before DLC was a thing and they change depending on device. Like there aren't any on my phone and there's like 4 on my computer. They don't mean anything.

If they were in Smash they should totally go with their classic designs since this is a Nintendo game, so it's best to represent their Nintendo days.

Not to mention Mega Man & Pac-Man retained their classic design rather than going with their modern looks.

Also more alternate characters would be nice. Louie, Charlie, & Brittany as alts for Olimar
Daisy alt for Peach
Different Links, Zeldas, and Ganons. (Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword, Ocarina of Time)

Don't Starve definitely has my vote. I was hoping it's come to Wii U and here it is! I really wanna get into it cause I love all the nice looking merchandise I see of it!

I would love to see Donkey Kong be a boss, oomplete with a stage similar to the original Donkey Kong arcade game. Imagine bouncing on the barrels with his shovel.

Or something Zelda related would be nice.
