I will be missing out all these Switch 2 Boxes as i just will upgrade these games… Damn

Will we have the same performance when using a Switch 1 cartridge with the upgrade pack? I'm asking because the new cartridges from Switch 2 are supposed to have a faster reading speed. Won't the slower reading speed of the Switch 1 cartridges impact the performance?

What are we ordering here? On the cover it says it includes the Nintendo Switch game and the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Upgrade pack. Is it just the Switch 1 cartridge and a download code for the upgrade pack in the box?

Yeah I’ve already 100% this on the Switch.. was hoping for a new game or even a remaster of TP or WW.. we get ports instead 😔 wtf Nintendo.. I’ve already played that version of WW countless times.. I have no faith in Team Red anymore.. Team Blue tho however.. looks like I can finally dip my toes in the PSVR2 stream now 😆 thanks Nintendo

These new boxes look horrible. And to ask for money for some upgrades is a ripoff.

@JoaoCGS My guess is that the S1 cartridge will act as a Game Key, meaning that you're playing the S2 digital version after the upgrade.

Those prices are vulgar! Hopefully the upgrade pack is not obscene.

That's only £6 more than TOTK was here in the UK at full price right? I would definitely do £6 for an upgrade pack

Switch 2 boxe arts are awful. Crops like almost a quarter of the image out leaving an ugly empty red section and the whole bottom is just filled with text.

Since it's backwards compatible, why not save cash and buy the switch version?

@Pat_trick Not to defend Nintendo (even if I will lol ) but you can’t really get a similar experience anywhere else so that’s kinda what would justify the price for Nintendo I’d guess ? :/

You want a Ubisoft style open world, here’s 30 + on a bunch of different platforms. BOTW and TOTK; there’s nothing that really compares to them.

There's a point consumers need to think and put their foot down on prices.

If everyone follows the logic you're presenting, Nintendo can keep increasing their prices however they want.

We do have a voice and we do have power, after all if we don't buy their products, they don't make money.

Look at the Nintendo 3DS. Nintendo had to slash its price because no one was buying.

That's why I see a glimmer of hope in this price increase.

It might create such a difference between AAA and smaller game prices that people might start buying other games because they're cheaper.

It happened in the past, and hopefully it will happen in the future.

@JoaoCGS The box contains the Switch 1 version plus a download code for the upgrade. Therefore whatever is on the cartridge will function identically to Switch 1. It says so among all that fine print at the bottom of the box.

@Yosti My guess is it’s a new cartridge that contains the Switch 1 version and the Switch 2 Edition in it without any extra code or sort of download and the one you play depends on where you insert it.

This crap is so confusing!

It's weird to think there's another pre-order hype for TOTK game, but now for the Switch 2. The game came out 2 years ago, so I assume most people bought the game when preorders were first announced.

But go right ahead, buy the game again!

@MrCarlos46 Another new cartridge besides the faster red cartridge for the Switch 2? It seems easier to just put a Switch 1 cartridge in the box with an upgrade pack download code. Just saying

@Yosti I kinda meant it would be on a Switch 2 cartridge but also contain the Switch 1 data.

@MrCarlos46 That would be the best outcome, hopefully there will be more information what the package contains.

@Yosti Someone emailed the UK My Nintendo Store about it and it appears that it will be everything in a new cartridge. They specifically asked about Tears of the Kingdom, but it could also apply for all Switch 2 Edition games.

@MrCarlos46 I read it. Hopefully that is the case. But I want to hear that from Nintendo itself or read it on the Nintendo website. It shouldn't be so vague and I don't think a customer service employee is a good source to rely on. This is the second customer service employee. The other said the opposite.

@Yosti While it doesn't use the word "download code", it states, "Includes the Nintendo Switch game and the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition upgrade pack. Upgrade pack also available separately". Why even bother mentioning the pack being available separately if it's already on the cart? This implies a code to me.

@Yosti @CStallion Maybe for those who already own the Switch 1 version and end up finding this and reading the text, knowing they don’t need to purchase the game again and can just get the upgrade pack.

@MrCarlos46 That's a bit of a stretch, but we'll know the real answer in a few months. Another thing that bothers me for Breath of the Wild is no mention of the Expansion Pass dlc for Switch 2. That was never released on the cart for Switch 1 and costs an additional $20.

@CStallion I’m actually surprised to see no one else bring this up before. Why hasn’t Nintendo considered adding the DLC to the Switch 2 Edition cartridge to make it the definitive version?

@MrCarlos46 Right? Lots of vague lingo to sift through at the moment, but we'll know the answers soon. Thankfully Tears of the Kingdom never got any dlc, so whatever is on the Switch 2 cart should be complete (pending an answer to the upgrade pack question).

@MrCarlos46 They don't lower their prices so if the would have added the Expansion Pass DLC it would have been 20 dollar more expensive.

Just to be sure. BOTW + Expansion Pass DLC was released on cart, but only in Japan/Asia. I imported it via Amazon Japan and it was more expensive than the regular game.

@MrCarlos46 : Update - Looks like Breath of the Wild for Switch 2 will not include the Expansion Pass on the cart, but will include the upgrade pack on the cart (no code).
