Re: Struggling For Switch 2 Storage? TeamGroup Launches A Range Of Micro SD Express Cards For The Console

@Chimichanga which makes it more confounding that there's not a company doing 2 TB RN. I mean, they should know that limitation inherently created demand for that card.

Even people who will never fill the switch memory are going to assume it's best to just get a 2 TB card to feel secure. Honestly, if you tell me 512 is 50 bucks and a 2 TB is 300, I am still going to assume it's better to buy the one card for maximum value. I have always bought the biggest memory available. There has to be millions like me.

Re: Fans Reckon Nintendo Has "Killed" Mario Kart World With Its Latest Update

Misima

@Gorlock Skill was a big part of at least three of the games following SNES, but I do agree that Nintendo thinks everyone needs to be protected from hard games and that's very frustrating to me.

I don't want Dark Souls, but I also don't want my games to be completely lacking in skill.

But honestly, Mario Kart 8 was way worse than World in regards of challenge versus rubber banding. I can't speak to online, but I know from the single player game that it's just not the same as it was. My favorites were 64 and double dash. I felt that with those games I could win all the time with skill.

Re: Best Yoshi Games Of All Time

Misima

There's no Question the older the Yoshi game the better it is, because Nintendo decided Yoshi was easy mode Mario after Yoshi's Island 2. Meanwhile they were making all their games easier... So basically Yoshi went from my favorite character in Mario to the character that will have pretty full games.

Nintendo is extremely sexist in that way. If a character is shown to be more popular with girls, they make the game pitifully easy. It's a real shame because the games are so creative.

Re: "One Of The Slowest Modern LCDs I've Ever Seen" - Digital Foundry's John Linneman On Switch 2's Display

@SirLink That is the rub isn't it. I am not sure what to think. I definitely know the price of the system is inflated because of features I never asked for or can't use versus a better screen. There's no doubt we should have had a great OLED option, but that would have raised the price even for those who wouldn't want it.

Someone was always going to be upset with the system because every system is a compromise. That's why we all don't have 100k PC systems. We have to give and take.

The screen isn't going to measure up because they honestly focused on the TV more than the handheld.

I wish we could all be happy but that's is not going to happen. This is just documenting the compromises Nintendo made. If you want to interpret this as negative press, unfair, or a hit piece... That's a subjective value judgement. Unfortunately, the data is objectively conclusive. That's where the controversy comes from, the discipline to stay away from the subjective.

I am more concerned about how this is playing out in politics than with the Switch 2.

I am complaining about a lot when it comes to the system, but I am enjoying the system. I am not going to get emotional over this.

I wish they would have mirrored the z button to modernize it. I love that spring Z. Tiger Woods PGA 2003 used it perfectly. You would button mash the z to generate spin after the drive while the ball was in the air. It was the perfect arcade style mash this button. All Mario Party mad masher games should have used that button. I would have loved to see that z have a spot on the joycons and analog shoulder buttons as well.

Sometimes the last is just better.

Re: PSA: DBrand's Switch 2 'Killswitch' Dock Adapter's 'Seamless Docking' Apparently Isn't Quite Seamless

@undeadly In all fairness, you can't admit fault immediately without careful actions in corporate law. If they immediately said, oh ***** we made a mistake let's fix it... That sounds moral and right, because it is, but someone will definitely sue over something in regards to it. It could be really, really bad. Where they deny any issue, put engineers and lawyers on the problem and they might find a solution without admitting fault in a couple of weeks that will help the people affected and avoid lawsuits. Or in the very least, find a way to positively salvage reputation instead of flushing the company down the drain.

Or they could never address the issue...we won't know for a bit. But you should know, first you must never admit fault in legal situations. That's how you end up paying for imaginary whiplash in a litigatious society.

Re: PSA: DBrand's Switch 2 'Killswitch' Dock Adapter's 'Seamless Docking' Apparently Isn't Quite Seamless

@stav1710 The slide track that the joycons locked into on the OG Switch. It's superior to the magnet system in several ways. I preferred the sound, the stability, the ease of taking them off and on quickly on the dock, and the feel more than the magnet Joycon 2. I feel it's worse in practice in every way. I think it was changed for a cool factor and perhaps a production reason. I believe they should have worked the mouse into the original mechanism. I won't conceded this point.

I guess the one positive is no wireless charging means better charging efficiency. I am considered getting a second set of joycons so I never need to remove the joycons from the S2 again.

Re: PSA: DBrand's Switch 2 'Killswitch' Dock Adapter's 'Seamless Docking' Apparently Isn't Quite Seamless

Misima

@stav1710 Jsux or something like that? The magnet release is too easy to be unlocked if there's ridges under the system. Be careful if you have ridges in the system or the system can move left to right in the case.

The dock also has a flaw for me. I will probably send the dock in for repairs, but the scratch was light and I pay attention to if it's charging now.

I just think it was a bad decision to get rid of the slider.

Re: Nintendo Confirms The Release Date For Drag X Drive On Switch 2

Misima

@FoxyDude If they had some sort of original IP it might be more appealing... But then they run the risk of offending the paralyzed. They had to go this route to avoid fallout. This game was a bad idea. Again, this would have been a good game to use Mii characters for, but they seemed to have abandoned that.

"Got to catch them all... But will you keep them all? Such is the inevitability of existence. The fleeting nature of years and Eveies. The cruel joke that the master ball has become your master and the wiggle wiggle of your life sees the escape of data, to let you ponder the nativity of your huberious. Alas, you have had the desire to Switch for continuation, but the devil has you switch to grief and damnation.

This is the bargain you have made with your digital god, and your sacrifice displeases them. The wrath is upon you now. May Arceus have mercy on your Pokedex."

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Mario Kart World?

Misima

Still think 64 was the best Kart, but they definitely didn't do worse than 5th best Mario Kart game. I hated 8 and I like this game. Knockout is the best way to play with a few exceptions. ( Ending the one course in acorn is an absolute bull ending to a cup. It has a major advantage to mushrooms at the very end and you won't have mushrooms unless you plan ahead and hold one for a long time or you're AI rubber banding. It's a very rough ending.)

I think it's the second to 5th best if I go back and play every game. That's pretty great to me. If the online was free for just this one game... It probably would be a 10/10.

Re: Nintendo Switch 2 Guide: Ultimate Resource

Misima

Been playing cyberpunk a lot with mouse controls and it's clear, Nintendo needs an official mouse ASAP. They need a large sized mouse that's just like a popular gaming mouse with the standard two buttons and a wheel on top, with the four face buttons and stick on the side like the Joycon. The Joycon is not ergonomic enough. If I was skilled with electronics I'd have gotten an extra Joycon and did it myself, but Nintendo needs to do this yesterday. It should have all the same internals inside as the Joycon. If a good company gets there first, they can have my money.
