Re: Nintendo Sends Out Second Game-Key Card & Physical Game Survey

Misima

@Ooccoo_Jr It's the worst of both worlds.

You get a physical card that can malfunction or fail. It still requires a game not be delisted. It further more is harmful to the environment because it's wasted resources on something that doesn't work without Internet infrastructure. It also requires you spend money on additional media card space if you want to have many games or simply want to ensure that the system dying won't take your games with it.

In short there's only one benefit to GKCs over digital and it's one that few people will use, and that's resell value. But supply and demand says it is unlikely the value will remain.

Re: Opinion: Donkey Kong Bananza's Delightful World Map Is Another Nintendo Banger

Misima

I could work for this website. I articulated the same thoughts while playing the game. This is the absolute best map I have ever used in a game because it orients you so well. If this game didn't allow you to snap zoom back into the game from the map, it would have been a frustrating disaster of a game.

The map alone raised the score of the game by at least 10 points.

Re: Reaction: Switch 2 Needed A Partner Showcase With Pep; This Wasn't It

Misima

This is just because the industry is contracting.

A year to two years ago (ish) games were getting cancelled and everyone was being fired and AI was being forced on all the programmers. This is causing a major gap to occur. You can see it with all platforms. The games are vanishing because the corpos have taken away all the resources and are batting down the hatches for the economic collapse of the West, so they can come out on the other side with record profits. This is what we all get for putting the worst people alive in charge of everything.

They are throwing quality games in the trash and the only stuff coming out is Indies and tent poles for the near future.

Nintendo will be the exception to the rule going forward... So expect every partner showcase to be a bunch of remakes and tiny games for the next 3 years.

Re: Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase July 2025: Every Announcement, Game Reveal, Trailer

Misima

Not much really exciting to me. I think we all have to laugh at it when they included building a campfire. That feels like a joke.

I am getting Madden just because I haven't bought a football game in 20 years and while I don't want to give them money I do want to refresh just because my 360 is probably going to die.

Like all these showcases, there's probably something for most people but nothing is going to please everyone.

Re: Hitman: World Of Assassination Has A Hidden 'Performance Mode' On Switch 2

I will never understand people. The frame rate does not matter in a single player game, only the stability. If your brain notices the slow down you are unhappy. But your brain is going to definitely notice 720 v 4k. As long as the frame rate is about 24 fps and stable you're going to enjoy the game ... So why obsess over these numbers?!?

If you're playing completive gaming it's different but only a few hundred people on the planet truly need that.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Donkey Kong Bananza?

Misima

I don't do anything less than a full 100 point scale using the whole 100 points, with 50 being average and that way 90s are for the very elite few. Like only a couple of games above 95. Bananza would be like a high 60 which translated to the lame scale everyone uses I'd say that's like an 80-94. Depends on how it plays out. But seriously much better than I was expecting.

If you're interested, games like RE4, RDR2, BoTW, FTL, SMW are in the 90s. What's the point of a 10 point scale if you're only going to use 6-10?!?

Re: Donkey Kong Bananza: Walkthrough

Misima

I have to say, DKB is much more entertaining as a game than Odyssey because the game loop is more addictive and satisfying. Mario required more skill which would make it a better game for those who like a challenge. I don't find the game easy or hard but more of a scavenger hunt. I thought I was going to hate this game but I just played for like 16 hours straight and really am enjoying it. It's also nice to not need any sort of walkthrough to play.
