Being from the UK the Orlando site is the one I'm mainly interested in as we do tend to go every 2-3 years (when the world is in normal circumstances)

I'll certainly give it a try but would have much rather kept (or even the option to buy for a one off fee) Super Mario 35

Zelda isn't my thing so I wouldn't lose any sleep over that in fairness.

I know what you sayin about Mario 35 though. We be nice if there was at least an option to purchase it and keep it but nope, 31st March the plug is pulled and it we be no more

Really hope they reconsider or decide to bring it back at some point.

Although it's not great I don't really have a problem with 3D allstars being discontinued, anyone who really wanted to buy it has had plenty of time to do so and to be fair to Nintendo there doesn't seem to have been any shortages of supply that I've noticed.

But Mario 35 was a unique twist on an old format, I was sceptical at first but its surprisingly addictive and I'll be really sad to see it go

Looks like a great port and had the game released on all platforms at the same time I would have considered getting the Switch version. Unfortunately like many games I've already bought the PS4 version. (I actually download it on my ps5 when it was on sale over Christmas time)

As brilliant as the game is there's simply no need for me to buy it twice.

The point I'm getting at is I hate the way the Switch version always seems to come further down the line when the ship has already sailed

It's still considerably cheaper than the competition though. £450 for a ps5 or xbox series X so the fact it's weaker as you put it is still justified in my opinion.

I can't see them dropping the price until sales start to significantly slow down

To be honest it's been that long I'll take anything. I'm not expecting much new Mario stuff after the 35 anniversary direct last year although I'll optimistically remain hopeful for Oddesy 2

This is good news, one of my biggest bugbears with 3D World was that it felt far too slow, even with the run button constantly held down it still felt frustrating.

When I saw it was getting ported I pretty much dismissed it in my head as its probably my least favourite of all the 3D games but this and Bowsers Fury does seem like a game changer to be fair to Nintendo

If Bowsers Fury turns out to be a stand alone game (doubt it) then I could be tempted to double dip.

If it's just a simple "extra level" no chance.

Don't get me wrong it was a decent game but of all the 3D mario games this was my least favourite, actually 3D land on 3DS was probably my least but I don't tend to count that as it was on a handheld and I'm more on a console gamer

Seriously??? Aww no.... I paid nearly £200 for my 2nd copy off someone on ebay. I trusted him as well because he had really good feedback.

I feel such a fool now, didn't realise I could have just gone into a shop and bought one at the regular price

Id only buy digital as a last resort.

Managed to get 2 x physical copies, one for me and one for my brother in law

I'd say unless I take it on holiday which hasn't happened this year for obvious reasons then I'm probably 99% docked.

The ability to take it on the go is a great feature but I bought it with the intention of using it as a home console primarily

Funnily enough I was the exact opposite. I had the Ps1 version and really enjoyed it. Would have been in my late teens at the time.

To be fair my Ps1 was chipped so the game probably only cost me a fiver

I won't disagree with you but it's still 10 times better than the list above.

And I do say that as a Nintendo fan boy.

Wasn't the greatest launch line up for the Switch but a brilliant first year over all

I was probably in a very small minority of people who bought a Switch at launch and didn't buy Zelda. Still haven't to this day in fairness.

I didn't realise it at the time but looking back that is a pretty poor launch line up. Especially when comparing to the upcoming PS5

I've had my Switch since launch with 2 sets of Joy Con's. Up until recently I've never had an issue so always wondered what all the fuss was about.

Recently though, particularly since I've been playing 3D allstars it's happening alot.

The left joy con's keep randomly losing connection and sometimes Mario seems to have a mind of his own and runs round in circles.

Can be extremely frustrating in a tight situation where you need precision control.

I've certainly had my use out of them and wouldn't begrudge buying a new set if I knew that would resolve the issue.

The weird thing is that it doesn't do it all the time, sometimes I can play for hours with no problem them bam. So annoying

My NSO subscription has very recently expired. I'll be honest I had no immediate plans to renew it but reading this review has tempted me

Don't get my wrong by I did enjoy my first play through it but overall I just couldn't take to it. There's something about having to hold the run button constantly (even then it still felt too slow) and being against the clock that didn't sit right in a 3D game.

That's why I've always argued this isn't a true 3D Mario but something in between 2D & 3D

I'm planning to start playing Sunshine next. I did flirt with it when it was new but the Gamecube sort of passed me by so never really played it "Properly"

Regarding Mario 64. I agree it hasn't aged well, especially when comparing it to Odyssey but I still love it, at the time it was revolutionary.

I'm currently on 115 Stars and want to finish that before moving onto Sunshine

I've never played it and have no desire to play it.

To be honest id rather them bring the original top down view GTA's than the new one (if you can call a 7 year old game the new one)

GTA 5 has spent far too long lingering in the charts

What a very strange point of view you have.

Your use of the word "deprive" is almost suggesting that I've bought the game simply to stop someone else having it. That couldnt be further from the truth. I bought it because I'm a massive fan of the games and have wished for a re-release like this for many many years.

If the fact I've managed to secure a copy and it feels special to me because it was something I really wanted some how disturbs you then you obviously must be a very sad individual.

One that I'd rather not waste anymore of my day replying too so let's just agree to disagree

I've no problem with it being a limited time release. Makes my copy feel all the more special.

It's not like ps5 preorder where it was dropped out of nowhere. People were given advanced warning and for anyone genuinely interested in buying the game 6 months is plenty of time

Personally I'd switch Sunshine in place of 3d world.

Other than that I think the list is bang on.

I'd argue 3D World and land shouldn't qualify and should be in a category of their own (they're neither 2d or 3d but something in between but that's an argument for another day)

Was planning to play Sunshine as I've waited so long but had a change of heart and decided to play the games on chronological order. Currently about 66 stars deep into Mario 64

Glad I cancelled my order with them now and got it from Smyths

Pretty much came here to say the same thing. The first game is absolutely fine. Just needs additional music tracks to make it more interesting

DLC could have covered this rather than a whole new game

I originally pre ordered with Amazon but later cancelled it and pre ordered with Smyths instead.

With smyths I can pick it up when the shop opens rather than curtain twitching all day waiting for Mr Post man (assuming amazon deliver on the day or release)

Just hope Smyths don't cancel and I end up regretting canceling my first order

Probably Sunshine because it's the only one that wasn't previously accessible to me

I did recently play through Galaxy at the start of lockdown (thoroughly enjoyed it). Obviously had I know at the time this was getting released I'd have probably held off, I'm not in such a hurry to play it again so soon.

No doubt I'll get to it once I've finished with Sunshine & 64

As someone who's been a massive mario kart fan since the very beginning... I have to be honest I'm struggling to get excited for this one.

Looks cool at first glance but then in reality how many different tracks can you make in your own living room (unless you live in a mansion)

Why bother when you can still easily pre order your own copy pretty much anywhere

I think we were probably spoilt with the effectively endless lives system on Oddesy.

I suppose the advantage with the Switch version is that we'll be able to put the console to sleep and pick up exactly where you left off providing you don't play something else in between.

I played through it again at the start of lock down to keep myself occupied. Every time I switched it back on Peach had sent me a letter offering me an extra 5 1ups.

On a serious note though, as great as Mario Galaxy is in hindsight I wish I hadn't played it now as I feel its spoilt my appetite a little for 3D allstars.

I'll still be smashing my way through 64 & Sunshine but I don't feel in such a hurry to play Galaxy again so soon

I've preordered this and to put it bluntly I can't wait to play it.

That said I am slightly disappointed they haven't given it the full remaster / remake treatment, particularly with Mario 64.

I was hoping for something similar to what Activision did with Crash and Spyro where all 3 games were given a fresh modern lick of paint and looked absolutely stunning.

It will print money either way no doubt but does seem like a missed opportunity

Whilst I did enjoy this the first time around on Wii U I have to be honest its probably my least favourite of the so called 3D Mario games.

Having to hold the run button all the time never felt quite right for a 3D game and even then it did feel particularly slow making it rather infuriating to play.

Hopefully this will make a big improvement.

Depending on what Bowsers Fury turns out to be I may well give it another chance. Is it a full on separate game that's included or just a level expansion? Time will tell I guess
