Having never played the 3DS version I'm very interested in this.

I loved Luigi's Mansion 3, it was one of the first games in a long time that I actually saw through to the end and completed.

Although those frustrating ghost cat levels did push me to the edge of quitting from time to time

Not expecting any major new game releases with Switch 2 being on the horizon.

I've mentioned it before but if I could come out of this Direct with just one wish fulfilled it would be to have Diddy Kong Racing released on NSO

Better still a full blown remaster but I'll take the N64 version on NSO

I picked this up last Friday when it first launched for the Switch.

I'll be honest at first I didn't really like it but I persivered with it.

It took me approximately 8-10 games to get the hang of it (losing every one of them and ending each match with at least a couple of players red carded).

But then something just clicked and I'm now absolutely loving it, just can't put it down.

The games are really short so it's so much fun to just pick up and play

What id like to see and what I end up seeing usually turn out to be two very different things so I'm trying to keep my expectations fairly low.

That way I won't end up too disappointed, then if by chance there is some stuff I "wanted" to see it's a nice bonus

If there's one thing I'd really really like to see though it's Diddy Kong Racing released for NSO

I enjoy going in for a browse but honestly I can't remember the last time I actually bought something from them.

Smyth's tends to be at least £5 cheaper on all new games so they're pricing themselves out of sales

Seeing as Nintendo Life is a UK based website shouldn't these prices be in Pound Sterling??

As much as I love Mario games and in particular the 3D Variety, I don't think this would be such a good idea.

If Mario maker taught me anything, it was that the vast majority of us (myself included) are absolutely terrible at creating Mario levels.

I say leave it to the professionals

I'm gutted about this.... Going to Florida in August this year so will miss out unfortunately

I think I'll stick with Shredders revenge for the time being.

I'll probably play it one day when it's given away for free on PS Plus no doubt

I think it could be decided on a case by case basis.

Many of Nintendos older games are pretty much perfect as they are so a "fresh coat of paint" so to speak is sometimes all they need.

Take Mario 64, the DS version for example, they added in some extra stuff / levels but for me alot if it felt forced and didn't need to be there. (just my 2 cents worth).

Give me a choice between playing the N64 version or the DS and it's the original every time

I played this a couple of weeks ago at Arcains in Liverpool.

Good game, I'd probably wait for a sale rather than paying full price for it but still .... an enjoyable game

To be fair I'd never even heard of the first version till just now.

Having never played the original I was on the fence but I tried the demo last night and it seems really fun.

£34.99 in Smyth's or £31.99 in Argos seems very reasonable to me so I'll be picking it up at some point today

I grew up on Nintendo and they will always be my first love but I'm definitely spending most of my time on my PS5 these days.

New Nintendo hardware and hopefully a new 3D Mario game as a launch title would certainly tip those scales back in Nintendo's favour though

Nintendo themselves are historically good at compressing their games to small file sizes but with the sizes of some 3rd party games these days I'd say 1TB is the bare minimum

I love for it to be called a Super Switch but I think Switch 2 is the safe bet option.

To be fair though, as long as they don't make a complete hash of it ( I'm looking at you Wii U) and make it crystal clear to your average Joe / casual gamer in the street that this is a completely new console and not just an accessory or minor "Upgrade", then they can call it whatever they like for me

It wouldn't interest me at all to be honest, our TV has built Netflix, Amazon and Disney plus apps, as do all 3 of the Sky Q / Mini boxes in the bedrooms

My phone has them as well so that covers the portability options.

I don't need another Streaming device, I just want it to play video games

My NSOEP expired and at the moment I've no real desire to renew it, don't get me wrong there are some amazing games on there but I've had my fill of them.

I opted to buy the Mario Kart expansion separately so I don't need it for that.

The only game I can think of that would get me to renew again is Diddy Kong Racing.

It's more the turned based battles and combat that I'm not a fan of.

I appreciate it could be slightly different with this but I did try a few of a the Paper Mario games in the past and just couldn't get on with them for the reasons mentioned above.

Mario games are my absolute favourite genre of any video games.

I've owned and completed just about every single 2D and 3D game (actually I haven't quite finished Super Mario Wonder yet)

However I absolutely despise RPG games of any kind so I'm afraid I'll have to skip this one.

I currently have my PS5 upstairs in the "Games" room with a gaming monitor.

The Switch is set up downstairs hooked up to the main TV. I've done it that way because the Switch is better suited to being downstairs playing Bowling and Tennis etc, not enough room upstairs for swinging your arms around.

Backwards compatible or not when I get a Switch 2 my Switch 1 will be Keeping the PS5 company upstairs as a secondary console

It's was on Firestick pretty much shortly after it was in Cinemas

Mine recently expired as well but I opted to buy the Mario kart expansion when the first wave launched.

I get to keep the tracks regardless of whether my subscription is still active

Bought it day one, I wasn't 100% sure on it for the first level or 2, couldn't get my head around the levels going all trippy.

The more I played it though the more I fell in love with it. As your review states it really is the best 2D Mario game since Super Mario World.

Regarding how fast it's sold..... I guess having an install base of over 132 million Switch's will help with that

I understand what you mean though, we have 2 x Switch's at home (The OG model and also a lite)

I won't bore you with the details as to why but I also purchased 3 x PS2's during its life span so you could also argue that that also inflates the PS numbers

I've never ever played the original.

As someone who loves Mario games (both 2D and 3D) but isn't particularly a fan of RPG games at all I'm unsure whether I'll like it or not

As great as the game is (and it is amazing) I can't help but think the reason it's sold so much quicker than Oddesy has got to be down to the install base

There are an awful lot more Switch's out there in the wild now (and therefore alot more potential customers) than there were back in October 2017

I can't speak for everyone obviously but I was way more excited for SMO than SMW

That's kind of the way I've tried to do it so far.

If I don't find everything on my 2nd play through though I move on to the next level

I'm only Upto the 2nd world so far but it's very very good

I'm torn between collecting every wonder seed and purple coin as I go, or do I just blitz through the game and then go back for the things I missed.

I'm curious to hear which way other people are doing it

All stars for me as it was the first copy I owed and played properly.

Going back to the NES version after that is a bit like watching a film on Blu-ray and then watching it again on an old VHS tape.

Yes it's the same film but it looks all crappy in comparison

I thought the same to be honest. I'm not suggesting that it's a better game than Oddesy but when you think of the Switch's install base now compared to October 2017 you would think it would have sold more in that first weekend

To tell you the truth.... when the game was first announced I wasn't all that excited for it, as much as I love Mario games I just thought "oh another 2D Mario"

But now that its almost here I can't freekin wait for it.

Didn't realise it till recently but it's the first "New" 2D Mario game since 2012 if you exclude the Super Mario maker games

Just cancelled my Smyth's pre order and ordered one of these instead
