I'll have to respectfully disagree, they may be niche in parts of the USA but there's a big wide world out there beyond those shores.

I do agree that it would be nice to see more baseball and basketball versions of Mario sports games but on a world wide scale I'd argue they are more niche than Tennis and Golf (certainly in my opinion anyway)

As far as I understand it , the word Niche means something obscure that only a select few people would be interested in... Tennis and Golf are extremely popular worldwide sports

Yeah it's a bit of a strange one, theyre probably some of the most popular Sports in the world so the fact that someone would consider them to be "Niche" is very bizarre

Fair enough you don't necessarily have to like those Sports, and you may find them boring but to see them Niche is very odd lol

I've always fancied a darts game myself, my only concern is that once you've mastered how to hit the treble 20 with precision every time it would get boring very quickly.

When you say boring and niche sports, which Sports (that they haven't already done) would you like them to do?

I'm not calling you out or looking for an argument, just genuinely curious that if you find Tennis, Football, golf and baseball to be Niche then what sports games you would like to see them attempt.

Yeah Ive pre ordered from Currys.

The company I work for has recently been taken over, as part of the take over they've given all employees a £50 e voucher.

One of the places I could use the voucher was Currys.

They're selling it for £59.99 but if you pre order it's only £53.99

So long story short with my e voucher that I got for free plus the pre order discount I've only ended up paying £3.99 for it.

To be honest no, I bought one at launch so assuming mine doesn't break and need to be replaced it won't effect me.

Given what we've seen previously with PS5 Xbox series everything and even the OG Switch it's almost certain the price will go up before we see it go down

Madness isn't it.... I guess in fairness to the staff we spoke to in our cases, their hands are pretty much tied.

It's the people upstairs sat in their swivel chairs who set the prices that should be taking the blame.

Obviously they need to make money but I would have thought it pretty obvious if your charging considerably more for the same products than your competitors then your customers are going to shop elsewhere

I haven't bought anything from Game for well over 10 years (maybe more)

The last time I tried, I can't specifically remember which game I wanted , but I remember going in there and for whatever reason the game had no prices on them, I asked the store manager how much it was.... he stood and thought about it for a few seconds and decided on £50.

I advised him that it was only £42 in Smyth's and asked if he'd be willing to price match.

He politely declined so I politely went to Smyth's and bought it from there instead.

I've never bothered to go back to them since, they're always so much more expensive than anywhere else

It's a strange one for me, I love Mario games, 2D or 3D, in fact they are without any doubt my favourite genre of video games.

I bought Mario Wonder at Launch and completed it.

For whatever reason though , I've no desire whatsoever to play through it again..... I enjoyed it and don't regret the purchase but it was very much a 1 and done..... Where as most other main line Mario games I'd be happy to play over and over again.

I can't quite put my finger on the reason why but this game this didn't hook me the way the others usually do

The PS4 also had the advantage of launching in November in peak holiday/ Christmas shopping.

Obviously Switch 2 had also just navigated it's 1st Christmas but the PS4 would have been the hot brand new must have item back in 2013

Personally I think we've reached a bit of a plateau in terms of how much better the next console is from it's previous version.

I know we've always said "Wow surely graphics can't get any better than this" right the way back to the Early 90's...... laughable really when you look back now and see those graphics 🤣

But now we really have reached a point where the technological leaps just aren't that big anymore.

I bought both my PS5 and Switch 2 on launch day but I certainly won't be doing that moving forwards.... price hikes or no price hikes

This was given away free on PS Plus a few years ago (obviously the base version, not deluxe) so I've already played it to death on PS5.

What I will say is that it's absolutely brilliant and I had hours and hours of fun with it.

As great as it is though, I've really no need to "Purchase" it again when I already have the PS5 copy (as long as my PS plus account is still active anyways)

I bought Black ops 6 last year on PS5, the file sizes are just completely off the scale, I had to delete a few things just to install it...... That's on PS5

I can only imagine how much storage space it would take up on Switch 2

I completely despise RPG games so I'll be sitting this one out I'm afraid.

I absolutely love my Switch 2... it's basically just a bigger and better Switch which is exactly what I wanted.

Could it do with a few more exclusives? Sure but it's only been out for just over half a year so with a little patience they will come.

I've been having so much fun playing the 2 Galaxy games in glorious 4K

I'll be honest.... it's not a colour I would have personally chosen.

Thankfully I'm in no rush to get a spare set, I'm happy enough with the set that came with it and my Pro Controller for now

I bought my Switch 2 back at launch in June but just wanted to say that , at the time I chose not to bother doing the system transfer.

A feature I found to be handy though was that, moving forward whenever I put in a Switch 1 game that I'd previously played on my old console it would prompt me an give me the option to download any existing save date before playing... again you can choose a simple yes or no at this point.

I found this to be a great feature, instead of having to transfer every ounce of existing data from my OG Switch I could just optionally download the files as an when I needed them

I'm going to use the same 4 words I always use whenever we get a new N64 game added to NSO

It's basically just a bigger, more powerful and better Switch.

Which to be fair is exactly what I wanted.... I was hoping and praying Nintendo didn't try to add in some stupid gimmick or attempt to create something completely different that ended up not working or hitting right.

Thankfully they stuck with what works for the OG Switch and improved it.

No complaints from me

They could have at least made it the NSO expansion pass so that people can take advantage of the Game Cube games

Belated happy birthday for yesterday.

I think I discovered the site around the time when the 3DS was due to launch. After 6 months or so of lurking I decided to sign up and create my account.

I still remember doing it on the old laptop , it was a Sunday evening and I was bored to tears because my girlfriend (who is now my wife) was forcing me to watch Dancing on Ice

I own FC26 and as far as I can tell every single team and every single player is still properly accounted for... there are no fake teams or players to my knowledge. With the possible exception of a few Italian teams who've signed exclusive deals with Konami to appear in their efootball game (Formally known as Pro Evolution Soccer PES)

I'm still ploughing my way through Super Mario Galaxy in glorious 4K.

It's so good I don't want it to end, thankfully when it does I still have Galaxy 2 to get balls deep into.

I sold my Xbox Series X for a reason.... if I wanted to play Xbox games I would have kept hold of it.

As it turned out, it was nothing more than a Glorified DVD / Blu ray player

I always knew that Super Mario Galaxy was a great game but until playing it again recently I'd forgotten just how good it was.

I find myself playing through it with a constant smile on my face.

It's an absolute masterpiece and it's never looked better now it's in 4K on my Switch 2..... I haven't even got to Galaxy 2 yet which I seem to remember was even better

I've just had a tiny orgasm thinking about it

Lovely stuff... I own Luigi's Mansion 3 and thoroughly enjoyed it so looking forward to giving this one a go and seeing where it all began.

On a side note I'm amazed that we're 73 comments deep and not one person (unless I've missed it) has complained that Game Cube games should also be available to Switch 1 owners

I had quite a few friends that owned a NES so used to play it at their houses all the time, but I never actually had the pleasure of owning one for myself...

I do remember saving up all my Christmas money, Birthday money and general pocket money and having enough to buy one and my dad wouldn't let me buy it.... I couldn't understand why and hated him for it.

Little did I know it at the time but the Super Nintendo was only a matter of months away so my dad quite sensibly wanted me to save my money and wait for the newer "Super" console instead.

With hindsight I can look back now knowing he did the right thing as if I had bought a NES I almost certainly wouldn't have been able to get a SNES when they first came out.

Correct it isn't cheap, but this thing is astronomically expensive..... whether what you get for your money is worth it, is a different discussion.

But from where I'm sitting, for virtually the same amount of money I could buy myself a Switch 2 and a digital PS5.

I don't know about you but I know which I'd rather have.

It's so refreshing to speak to someone who on paper may share a few different opinions, but can put those opinions across without having it turn into a slanging match and resorting to personal insults.

You have to go back as far as the PS3 to when you could just pop a game into a playstation and play it instantly without having to install the game from a disc first.

Not saying I agree with it but Nintendo are just late to the party in that respect

After all it doesn't seem to do Sony any harm to just simply make a better version of their previous console each time.... they're absolutely killing it in fairness.

I haven't played Bubsy for a good 30 years.... I remember owning it on my Original SNES and quite enjoying it but I've a feeling that it's mainly nostalgia.

I pretty sure when I fire it up in 2025 it will be terrible 🤣

£50 in Smyths essentially making them £25 a piece

£25 each for 2 of the finest games ever made really doesn't seem that bad to me.

I was planning to just download Galaxy 2 as I already have Galaxy 1 on 3D All stars but if it's £34 on its own I may just spend the extra £16 and have them both together for the convenience

I will be buying this, it's usually something I'd buy on PS5 but I need to show my Switch 2 some love.

I skipped last year's release so I feel ready for a new one

I already subscribe to expansion pass (for the Game Cube and N64 games) so that's one hurdle already out of the way.

I've no interest in buying the replica but I'm pretty sure I can stretch to the £16.99 cardboard version.

Whether it's actually worth £16.99 is a different discussion but I've never played any form of Virtual Boy before so as a life long Nintendo fan I'd like to be able to tick it off my list

The Galaxy that came as part of the 3D all stars collection on Switch 1 works perfectly with the Switch Joy cons mimicking the the Wii remote and nunchuck.

Presumably the same will apply with the Switch 2 Joy Cons

Myself I'll just be buying Galaxy 2 digitally as I already have Galaxy 1 as part of the 3D All stars game

I can kind of see the argument from both sides.

If you've already played and bought these games before it can be a tough ask to buy them again, especially at more or less at full price. I completely get that point of view

However looking at it from the other side of the coin... Galaxy 1 released in 2007 making it 18 years old and Galaxy 2 released in 2010 making it 15 years old

My point is that there will be a whole generation of people that have likely never played either of these games.

If you happen to fall in to that category and have never played them, I'd argue they are totally worth every penny.

These are 2 of the greatest games Nintendo has ever produced.... and I don't just mean Mario games, I mean greatest games produced..... period

I might consider getting the cardboard option just to give it a try.... The Virtual Boy never saw the light of day in the UK unless you were rich enough to import one, so I've never had to opportunity to play it.

No doubt it will be terrible but it's still part of Nintendos history

Was very pleased to see that Galaxy 2 is available to purchase separately... I already have a physical copy of 3D all stars so having to buy Galaxy 1 & 2 as a package would have been hard to take.

Great if you want both obviously but many many people will be in the same position as myself just needing Galaxy 2 to complete the set

I like your thinking but sadly I think the best we can hope for is a Galaxy 2 port.....It would be the perfect filler to keep us going whilst the next new 3D Mario game cooks in the oven for a few more years.

I also think my use of the word "sadly" is maybe me being a little over dramatic or sounding ungrateful.

I'd actually be thrilled if we got a Galaxy 2 port..... it was a phenomenal game
