Naa definitely not for me but glad to see that others enjoy it 😀
I'm definitely more of a Mario guy, my equivalent to your experience was probably when Super Mario Oddessy arrived.
I'd secretly taken the day off work to spend the day playing it... I dropped my daughter off at my mum's for the day and let them think I was going to work but I went straight to my local toy store to pick up my pre order and went straight home to play it
haha I did actually have Snipper Clips yes, I was a surprisingly fun game.
If I remember correctly I picked up a copy of Super Bomber man R, downloaded a copy of Fast RMX (it's a bit like F-Zero just in case your not familiar with it).
Those 3 games kept me going for a couple of weeks till I was able to get Lego City Undercover and of course Mario Kart 8 deluxe 😀
I'll probably skip the Zelda one as I'm just not a fan... In March 2017 I was actually one of only 3 people in the entire world that owned a Switch on launch day and didn't have a copy of Breath of the Wild to go with it lol.
The proper direct the following day however..... I'll be all over it
Don't get me wrong, even just getting those first 7 shines in each world can still be quite challenging and frustrating but yeah... definitely don't stress over trying to get all 120 Shines.
I'm getting anxiety just thinking about it 😂😂
To get to the "End" of the game you need a minimum of 50 shines.
From memory I think you get your first one early in the game when you start out and you'll need to get the first 7 Shines in each of the 7 different worlds. This will unlock the final stage called Corona Mountain
like many people I already have this via the 3D all stars collection.
I 100% completed it approximately 12 months ago so I've no desire whatsoever to go back and play it again so soon.
It's an enjoyable but at the same time very frustrating game, there's no way I'd have been able to finish it without using a few YouTube walk though videos.
In my opinion there are just far too many levels / stages that once you finished them, my first thought was "thank goodness that's over" rather than 'wow that was amazing "
I will not be attending as I live in the UK and we tend to get forgotten about when it comes to stuff like this.

They need to do something different because for the price they'll likely be asking for it ....... it needs to offer something more than just being "a slightly better version of the PS5 Pro"
I doubt anyone will read this now as the article is quite old but I bought this a few days ago.
I have to say I went in with fairly low expectations, but I thought I'd give it a whirl anyway for the low price.
I have to say I've been very impressed, it could probably do with a few extra modes to give it some extra legs but if we're talking purely from a game play perspective.
It's head an shoulders above the Switch 2 version of FC26, that's extremely slow and sluggish in comparison, this E-Football runs so smoothly in comparison.
If you're even just a little bit remotely interested in playing a football game, this is well worth the £16 fee
Well to be fair I've never liked any of those types games and I've still enjoyed every other Nintendo console I've owned.
I guess I'm just going to have to be patient for more of the games that do interest me.
It was just a little underwhelming because usually the Direct in June (which has essentially replaced the old E3) normally gives us an idea of what remains for the rest of the year.
It's a shame (for me at least) that there was hardly anything of interest
As I've said many times before, it's basically just a bigger and better version of the Switch, which is exactly what I and the majority of people were calling for before it was officially announced.
They already had a winning formula so didn't need to reinvent the wheel.... and thankfully they didn't try too.
I voted for the "Good" option, whilst I'm happy with the console itself, I'm still waiting on a few more of the games I like (a new 3D Mario for example)
I found EA sports FC26 to be borderline unplayable on my Switch 2, okay maybe unplayable is a slight exaggeration but the slow frame rate is really noticeable and it put me off right from the start.
FC26 is currently free on PS Plus essential so I recently downloaded the PS5 version and it's sooooo much smoother.
If this PES game runs alot more smoothly (albeit with less features) then I'm willing to give it a try.
The world tour mode actually sounds quite interesting rather than just playing endless friendlies over and over
Don't get me wrong I love Sony and Nintendo equally as I always buy both consoles but always thought it was very suspicious the way they suddenly found another 5 million sales when the Switch was starting to get close 😂
That sounds like wayyyy to much effort to do something I can very easily already do on more or less every other device I already own.
In fact I'd even go as far as to say that even if the Switch 2 had an actual dedicated You Tube app, I probably still wouldn't use it because it's just quicker and easier to use my phone or TV

I'll have to respectfully disagree, they may be niche in parts of the USA but there's a big wide world out there beyond those shores.
I do agree that it would be nice to see more baseball and basketball versions of Mario sports games but on a world wide scale I'd argue they are more niche than Tennis and Golf (certainly in my opinion anyway)
As far as I understand it , the word Niche means something obscure that only a select few people would be interested in... Tennis and Golf are extremely popular worldwide sports
I was 99.9% sure that you were joking but you can never be too sure these days 😂
Yeah it's a bit of a strange one, theyre probably some of the most popular Sports in the world so the fact that someone would consider them to be "Niche" is very bizarre
Fair enough you don't necessarily have to like those Sports, and you may find them boring but to see them Niche is very odd lol
I've always fancied a darts game myself, my only concern is that once you've mastered how to hit the treble 20 with precision every time it would get boring very quickly.
When you say boring and niche sports, which Sports (that they haven't already done) would you like them to do?
I'm not calling you out or looking for an argument, just genuinely curious that if you find Tennis, Football, golf and baseball to be Niche then what sports games you would like to see them attempt.
To be honest no, I bought one at launch so assuming mine doesn't break and need to be replaced it won't effect me.
Do you think it might eventually lead to a price increase for the Switch 2? *
Given what we've seen previously with PS5 Xbox series everything and even the OG Switch it's almost certain the price will go up before we see it go down
Madness isn't it.... I guess in fairness to the staff we spoke to in our cases, their hands are pretty much tied.
It's the people upstairs sat in their swivel chairs who set the prices that should be taking the blame.
Obviously they need to make money but I would have thought it pretty obvious if your charging considerably more for the same products than your competitors then your customers are going to shop elsewhere
I haven't bought anything from Game for well over 10 years (maybe more)

For whatever reason though , I've no desire whatsoever to play through it again..... I enjoyed it and don't regret the purchase but it was very much a 1 and done..... Where as most other main line Mario games I'd be happy to play over and over again.
I can't quite put my finger on the reason why but this game this didn't hook me the way the others usually do

It looks absolutely insane
Nintendo needed a big hitter to stay relevant against GTA 6 and this is most definitely it

Re: Nintendo Details Switch 2 Price Increase For The UK
Obviously any price increase is never a good thing but I believe we (UK) have got off quite lightly.
Let's say little Jimmy gets £20 a week pocket money and he's been saving up to buy one.
It's only an extra week to wait
Re: Xbox Series S Is Now More Expensive Than Switch 2 In Europe And The UK

Re: Poll: How Would You Rate Nintendo's Switch Online Offering In 2026?
For the price it's hard to grumble to be fair.
On paper having access to 350+ games sounds great but in reality, I could probably narrow it down to only about 20 games I'll ever bother playing.
My only real gripe, is that it's now 2026 and there's still no sign of Diddy Kong Racing being added to the N64 classics.
Seriously what's taking so long

Re: "This Is Even Worse" - GTA 6 Code-In-A-Box Reveal Reignites Game-Key Card Debate
I'll be buying it digitally anyway so I'm not losing any sleep over this.
The only reason I would have wanted a physical copy is if it came with a large poster style map of the city like the old GTA games used too
Otherwise if it's just a code in a box I don't see the point of it, you're just paying for a useless bit of plastic

Re: Reaction: A Direct That Picked Up Pace For A Breathtaking Finish
If I'm honest it was a bit of a let down. The only thing that saved it for me was Nintendo Switch Sports Resort.
I've been really wanting a table tennis game to play ever since I retired my Wii U many years ago.
I've no interest in Xenoblabe or anime style games I don't particularly care for Zelda games so the Ocarina of time remake means nothing to me.
I'm happy for those that like those types of games but nothing of interest for me personally
Re: Nintendo Switch Sports Resort Brings 12 Sports To Switch 2 Later This Year
@invictus4000
Funny you should say that because for me it was the highlight of the entire Direct.
Good job we don't all want / like the same things eh?
Jokes aside though I was really happy to see it, I've longed for a decent table tennis game on my Switch (2)

Re: "It's Actually Been Pretty Smooth" - Infinity Ward On Getting Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Running On Switch 2
@MontyCircus
Thats exactly the point I was making, the Switch 2 is more powerful than a PS4 (particularly in docked mode)
It likely won't be a shiny and smooth as the PS5 version but it should still be more than capable of running it
Re: "It's Actually Been Pretty Smooth" - Infinity Ward On Getting Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Running On Switch 2
Up until recently COD has always released on PS4 .... so there's no reason whatsoever that it can't run on Switch 2
Re: Valve Follows Switch 2, PS5 & Xbox With Major Steam Deck Price Hike

Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's N64 Library With Another Game Next Week

I suppose getting this is a good sign that DKR will appear eventually.
I'll give DK64 a try but I'm not expecting much from it
Re: PSA: You Can Pre-Order Star Fox Physically For Less Than The Digital Version (UK)
Currys have always been good for this sort of thing.
I took advantage of a similar offer when I ordered Mario Tennis for the Switch 2
Re: Opinion: Replaying Games Is Better Than Playing Games
I guess it depends on the game but earlier this year I've re-played both Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 after they were re-released.
I had more fun playing those 2 games than I can remember having with anything else in recent memories on my PS5. (or Switch 1/2)
Thats probably more of a testament of the quality of those particular games in fairness.
Also playing them on Switch 2 they've never looked better

Re: Nintendo To Change Pricing For Digital & Physical Switch 2 Exclusives, Starting With Yoshi
I still buy both physical and digital on a case by case basis.
Ideally I prefer physical because I like to have the option of trading in when I've finished with it (or if I simply don't like the game)
In the case of Mario kart world though I was more than happy to go with the cheaper digital version (I bought the bundle with the Switch 2) because I knew that I would get years and years of use out of it for the life of the console and beyond

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Mario Tennis Fever For Switch 2?
Yeah Ive pre ordered from Currys.
The company I work for has recently been taken over, as part of the take over they've given all employees a £50 e voucher.
One of the places I could use the voucher was Currys.
They're selling it for £59.99 but if you pre order it's only £53.99
So long story short with my e voucher that I got for free plus the pre order discount I've only ended up paying £3.99 for it.
Bargain
