Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops III "Ember" Tease Sets a Futuristic Scene Ahead of Full Reveal

McoobabWATP

I read recently that the wii u version of black ops 2 still has a pretty dedicated online community.with the install base having increased a bit maybe they feel a quick port of the 360 version could make a decent profit for them.for what it's worth I think this will be the last "last gen" release and next year they'll go current gen only with either modern or advanced warfare.

@Figeluren do you have a link to his drug dealing convictions? Google doesn't seem to be able to find them.as others have said it's not so much he didn't do anything wrong it's that there are rapists and child abusers who receive far more lenient sentences and enjoy far more freedom and even get special protection while locked up than this guy that's the issue.

Re: Talking Point: Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. DLC Can Evolve the Concept of Nintendo 'Evergreen' Releases

McoobabWATP

Dlc done well is great but I'd really rather new games.i hear people in work say things like "nintendo are just toys ye buy to play smash n mario kart".in the long run it doesn't help the public perception of nintendo, and while I love mario karts dlc there's no way it shoulda become common for a console to built round 2-3 games a year kept going with additional content in my opinion it's the wrong answer to the lack of games problem.dlc should be a thank you to fans not a way to get more hardware buyers it just doesn't make sense imo.

Re: Poll: Would You Like Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. DLC to Expand for a Whole Generation?

McoobabWATP

For smash Id really like stages or a new adventure mode like the one in melee if sakurai is burned out let other people make it. I know it sounds harsh but zelda isn't made by its creator anymore (and there's a load of folk who want his hand picked apprentice to step aside),new talent can inject new energy into these franchises n let sakurai do something he's more content with.

Re: Talking Point: Splatoon Is a Typically Colourful Nintendo Dabble in the Mainstream Market

McoobabWATP

It'll be another to be admired similar to xcx, bayo 2 etc but hopefully the wider audience will eventually see there's enough of those admired games to purchase the console.positive word of mouth will help but the wii u doesn't need a "killer app" it needs a first rate and varied library, if nintendo can show there's more than just mario and show off all these other games there could be an improvement.

Re: Poll: Is Splatoon a Blockbuster That'll Help Revive the Wii U?

McoobabWATP

I think it'll do well with the nintendo fanbase as it looks a lot of fun. I dunno if it'll boost hardware but I think they should do adverts showing this ,xcx and something like Devils third to show just how different the wii u library can be maybe that would attract buyers.
The amiibo sounds interesting a lot depends on how much replayability the challenges have.

Re: Review: Super Mario 64 (Wii U eShop / Nintendo 64)

McoobabWATP

Downloaded it the moment it appeared on the vc and spent ages just running n jumping around the castle like when I was a kid.maybe graphics and cameras have improved but I've yet to find a game with as much of a sense of wonder and fun as this .
Instead of another nsmb can we get "new super mario 64" sometime soon ?????????

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Plans for DLC and Microtransactions Point to Changed Priorities

McoobabWATP

@Lizuka I don't think it would have fit at the end of the game tho all those hours as batman then to end it like that would have seemed weird to me. I found the maps n characters a bit more offensive to be honest not that I didn't enjoy them when I bought it later on but they were advertising it the week the game got released ,personally I'd prefer to pay for a short story based thing like that since it followed on from a game I enjoyed a lot than just a few extra maps n such that had no real effect or relation to the main game itself but to each their own.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Plans for DLC and Microtransactions Point to Changed Priorities

McoobabWATP

I don't mind dlc if it's done like mk8 or the harley Quinn stuff in arkham City but too many games seem to rely on it for profit.
F2p is a tricky one Id hate to see animal crossing be relegated in the eyes of the public to something akin to the simpsons tapped out, games like that shouldn't be competition animal crossing should always be ABOVE those kind of games.having said that I haven't minded what it's been used for so far since its been. Pokemon spinoffs I don't bother with ,a new ip designed for it (rustys baseball) or a 2nd chance for a series that probably wouldn't have got one otherwise (steel diver).

Re: Nintendo Download: 9th April (Europe)

McoobabWATP

@Quorthon It's especially ridiculous when it's only a few weeks after mario vs dk was at the top of the eshop charts.Ā£18 or so for what was basically mini land mayhem with some online and crossbuy yet people think a new original offering with gamepad functionality is unacceptable at this price makes me despair

Re: Video: Super Mario 64 Leaps Onto Wii U Virtual Console

McoobabWATP

@rjejr I still found it enjoyable ,the collecting didn't really bother me as a kid ,will need to play it now to see how I feel thought.I think the criticisms a bit harsh tbh it didn't "kill" the genre any more or less than sunshine and tooie being seen as disappointments (regardless of how good they actually were) when compared to their predeccessors did.

Re: Talking Point: What We Expect from Nintendo Direct - 1st April

McoobabWATP

Man between wrestlemania raw after it n having a 3 month old daughter in really struggling to stay awake for this lol. I'm guessing well get dates and MAYBE a wii u eshop game like a first party puzzler or project treasure .hope we get news on a few indie games space adventures, either stone shire or cube life (gave up waiting on Ucraft) swords n soldiers II etc.

Re: Cancelled ZombiU Sequel Prototype Featured Co-Op and Alternate Routes

McoobabWATP

I do wonder if ubi are using sales as an excuse. I've seen sales figures putting this at just over 800k (higher than w101 or bayo2), that was before me n a few friends bought our copies so it's still selling to some degree at least.when you factor in digital sales and the lack of data on them and the amount of people who buy pre-owned (the only non 2nd hand games in my local game are first party titles) then Id say it's pretty likely more than a million copies have been sold in total.

Re: Feature: The Best Pro Wrestling Games That the N64 Has to Offer

McoobabWATP

Other than the initial bug that kept deleting my save data no mercy was brilliant still love that game.got a soft spot for the warzone/attitude world tour/revenge era tho 2 different promotions with 2 very different but equally enjoyable types of gameplay.
Here's hoping bryan wins the ic tonight when it reigns it bores.

Re: Talking Point: The Legend of Zelda on Wii U May Benefit From a Delay, But It Leaves a Blockbuster-Sized Gap

McoobabWATP

I get the feeling the project guard and giant robot stuff is being incorporated into starfox to try n boost the length of the game beyond budget title status.
From a gameplay point of view the only thing I can see being as adventurous and immersive as zelda would be a new Metroid although it wouldn't do zelda like numbers ,I'm sure xenoblade will be great but as folk have said its niche and while am excited for endless levels of smw I can't see a creation tool like mario maker really being seen as a "blockbuster game".

Re: The Legend of Zelda for Wii U No Longer Set for 2015 Release

McoobabWATP

With this xcx and star fox coming so late in the wii u lifespan what the hell will the NX have to offer? Even if it launches with a 3d mario do they have any non dormant ip to release in its first year? Even metroid and f zero but that's only 3 games and people will probably ask why the hell they couldn't get those last two series on the wii u

Re: New Pokemon Rumble World Web Domain Teases New Brawler

McoobabWATP

Id really rather we get a new beat em up ip (or even use the old brawl brothers title).one of the problems just now is casuals think nintendo only make mario pokemon and endless spinoffs.even if those games are fun (and they usually are) it wouldn't hurt to actually SEE something different that's not delayed.

Re: The Legend of Zelda for Wii U No Longer Set for 2015 Release

McoobabWATP

@Cyberbotv2 yeah that's exactly how I feel. It's as if nintendo don't realise they're the only company supporting this console.you can't justify such a sporadic release schedule when you have no 3rd party support and you've recenty opened a new development centre.they're underperforming and acting as though they still have 2nd party devs like rare to fill the gaps n 3rd parties to keep momentum going and IMO it's pretty damn insulting.

Re: The Legend of Zelda for Wii U No Longer Set for 2015 Release

McoobabWATP

@Boxmonkey It's worrying that unless this launches with the next console and the u like twilight princess did then we could go full console lifespans without a zelda, that'd be a big problem anyway but when you've got no 3rd party support 2nd party devs making games for other systems it becomes even bigger there's a huge gap this year now and I have no idea how they're gonna fill it

Re: The Legend of Zelda for Wii U No Longer Set for 2015 Release

McoobabWATP

Disappointment is putting it mildly.Have all the positive spin and delayed game is eventually good mentality you want, the reality here is any momentum the wii u still had after Xmas is squandered. Here in the uk the only new retail game we've had this year is mario party ONE GAME frankly that's pathetic and embarassing, and yet nintendo still had goodwill from fans based on the fact starfox and zelda were coming.
Well now we're down 1 the other has barely been heard of and right now wii u owners are expected to be content with kirby and his rainbow paintbrush turning up in may with yoshi likely following in June 2 cute simple
Platformers back to back? sorry but that's not good enough. No offence to those franchises or their fans but this consoles got more 2d games than 3d at this stage and I'm getting sidescroller fatigue. As much as i enjoy them I want something different to sink my teeth into like a zelda or 3d metroid or starfox every now n then.Maybe I'm being a tad melodramatic but you add this into the NX and mobile announcements and the lack of a direct to keep fans informed and being optimistic about the wii u is a helluva lot harder now.
