Pretty much a DLC for Wii U that can be played on 3DS. I hope not just the characters are transferable, would be great to get the adventure map with them too and prob the story of Wind Waker and Linkle.
Not many big games on Wii U for 2016, but PS4 and Vita are getting a tons on JRPG big releases. 2015 was mostly the year where the Wii U kind of shined for big games, sadly 2 of them didn't got marketed that well.
What I will mostly remember for 2015 with Nintendo is the debacle about the censorship of some tiny stuff that should not be censored or removed completely.
If only they made more ads about Fatal Frame, Xenoblade Chronicles X and Devil's Third it would of been better than just getting the usual Mario and Zelda ads.
For me I got more fun with Xenoblade Chronicles X than Mario Maker, Splatoon is a refreshment for the Wii U since it's something new. But XCX kind of push the Wii U limits, hopefully Zelda U will get a world as big as XCX or bigger.
I got no text issue on my end. My only issue is the music muffle the cutscenes voice acting quite often, this game need at least a music and voice audio slider.
The final update I can see happening is giving 3DS stages to Wii U and Wii U stages to 3DS. Both will keep their exclusive trophies and game mode tho. There's also the balance issue and fix after the last 2 characters.
Hopefully the new Adventure Map is transferable with the characters on Wii U too, because getting the characters transfered with the old Adventure maps on Wii U if you already completed them would be kind of boring.
It still sell the 3DS version kind of like a paid DLC for the Wii U owners.
I don't plan to buy a mobile phone in the next 5 years+, I just don't have a use for that since I barely go out, and there's always the 3DS to play outside who has better games than just cash grab mobile games that plague 99% of mobile market, they spend more making an unrealistic commercial of a mobile game than they spend on the game itself when it show only 2 seconds of gameplay in a 50 seconds commercial.
If Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night can manage a Wii U version I guess these guys are just too lazy to try to port it to the Wii U because it work differently than other systems. At least Igarashi made the effort to work on a Wii U version instead of being lazy like them.
I can see in december direct Nintendo saying you remember cloud from the last direct ? He's no available on eShop right now with the chocobo and maybe moogle mii costumes in a package.
Even if the Wii U was pricy with the gamepad it was still cheaper than the PS4 and XBOne on release. I got an XBOne lately from a promo 4k TV but I'm not opening it because the exclusive of Xbox don't interest me at all, Halo and Forza are not for me, they got only some adventure games exclusive to it.
Otherwise it's multi-platform or timed exclusive and the rest can be played on PC.
The PS4 has better exclusives mostly in JRPG domain, even if there's no backward compatibility it still has better games than what the Xbox will offer for me. What I don't like is the extra payment per month to use online feature and the PS+ to keep your save file in case the game get corrupted.
It's because of different localization teams mostly. Did Nintendo used one of their localization team for Phantasy Star 0 or was it a Sega localization team ?
@PlywoodStick the reason is Phantasy Star was not localized by Treehouse, Treehouse is the team localizing some Nintendo games like Fire Emblem, Fatal Frame and Xenoblade Chronicles X.
The story of skyward sword never said Link need to always be a boy, that's why it's the spirit of the hero, meanwhile Zelda is tied by blood meaning she will reincarnate each generation.
The spirit of the hero will go to the person who is the most fitting candidate when Ganon will come back, be it male or female.
Link is a totally different character compared to Mario, Samus, Pit and Donkey Kong, only in a select few game you get the same Link from a previous game, while the rest are just linked by name and the spirit of the hero.
Also Demise reincarnate into Ganondorf in some of the games, while before he was only known as Ganon which is the appearance the Triforce give him.
@kenrulel I think manga adaptation and anime are quite different from the in-game content. See Pokemon for example where the anime is mostly for kids and has the same protagonist that never age, meanwhile the manga uses the game characters and can go really dark where characters can die.
What will happen if one day Nintendo decide to create a twin Brother and Sister Link that can be swapped in the game with both using different mechanics ?
Zelda being female is mostly because she share the same blood with the goddess who took an human appearance, this way Hylia can reincarnate each time. This also explain why Zelda mother is always never mentioned because she probably died while giving birth. And it became a tradition for the royal family to name their female newborn Zelda in honor to the human form of Hylia back in Skyward Sword.
Remember how in Skyward Sword there was no royal family set in stone yet.
Meanwhile Link only share a spirit meaning each incarnation has a possibility to be female.
I don't see how the lore would need to be rewritten if we end up with a female Link that will happen after all the previous lore already established, since when the lore say that the spirit of the hero need to be male ? I saw nothing written about it, it's just people assuming since the spirit picked a male protagonist every time that it will always be a male.
Link is never the same character except for when they make a series of sequel in the same timeline aka Majora's Mask and Wind Waker series, otherwise it's always a different incarnation of the spirit of the hero.
Just look how Link dies in OoT and then suddenly a new Link come back to fight Ganon later in the Link to the past and original Zelda games timeline.
Link can be female any time Nintendo want, also the way the games are made there's barely any voice acting required for each characters since it's pretty much moans and other little sound effects.
The only change would be some dialogues depending on the gender. A female Link is still possible.
If a breast slider is sexualization, just remove the ability to play as a female because female are sexualized and not male.
Seriously it's still diversity to have different size of breast. Next thing we will say a feet slider is sexualization because some people has fetish for smaller or bigger feet.
@Ralizah it's mostly because in western eyes anything that is anime like and has any kind of fan service is taken as Hentai, while Witcher 3 and God of War being more on the realistic graphic side get a pass because it's not hinted at being Japanese at all.
This also explain the whole weaboo mentality for anything about people that like stuff coming from Japan.
The biggest party faulty in this case here is not Nintendo it self but the little localization branch named Treehouse where everything they touches is getting some form of censorship.
Bayonetta 2 didn't got censored mostly because it was localized by a more lenient team and the game was already translated fully in English on the Japanese release too, I think it's mostly Platinum that did the translation and not Nintendo.

Re: You Can't Alter The Chest Size Of Female Characters In The Western Version Of Xenoblade Chronicles X
These game need to come like the Japanese version uncensored and if you have parental control on it should auto-censor the game for you.
Re: You Can't Alter The Chest Size Of Female Characters In The Western Version Of Xenoblade Chronicles X
Replacing the outfits in Fatal Frame which is a Mature game is as random as removing a breast slider.
It's probably not the whole team and maybe one individual that joined them lately that does those kind of random censorship.
