Re: Opinion: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Looks Cool, But It's Lacking Arceus' Unique Style

I feel like people always forget GameFreak made games were never a graphical showcase of the systems they were released on, of course there was better looking pokemon games but they were made by a different studio like HAL Laboratory during N64 and for Gamecube to Switch with got Genius Sonority, ILCA and BandaiNamco Studios.

Even Champions is given to The Pokémon Works which is a joint between TPC and ILCA. If they would want a game pushing the system they are on they could always have Monolith Soft to work on it.

Other than graphical issues with the game it's still the best in gameplay and story since Gen 5. I just wonder how some of PLA features didn't make it in the game and also why they didn't have the better textures of PLA for the environment, might be because the game was too late in dev compared to PLA and they didn't have the tie to implement em.

I really wish the change to Frozen and Sleep made it same with overworld shiny sparkling and sfx.

I prefer way more how PLA plays than the traditional games. O got titred of the same formula of Go do your pokemon league with gyms get interrupted mid league by some villain team you already knew the villain since the beginning of the game because he was obviously looking like a villain, then beat em capture the legend they had and end the league with some sort of empty post game with a battle facility that is inferior to Battle Frontier.

Re: Talking Point: Do You Consider Pokémon Legends: Arceus To Be A Mainline Title?

Glad they changed the formula for Pokemon.

Meanwhile for Breath of the Wild they didn't really reinvented anything, they mostly took all those open world mechanics from other games like Far Cry with the same mechanics and got rid of many staple of the series in favor of an empty open world with barely any variety in enemies compared to old games. It's more a sandbox game than anything Zelda related.

Legends Arceus at least kept what made it Pokemon by changing the whole ad nauseum usage of same evil team doing bad things because they are evil and the whole Pokemon League stuff. It focus more on the core of the series which is exploring the world and capturing Pokemon.

Re: Review: Pokémon Brilliant Diamond And Shining Pearl - A Middling Pair Of Remakes

I get the feeling they are just gonna sell expansion pass later on to add missing features and new pokemon just like they did with Sw/Sh. They Tasted how well the expansion pass made em extra money for cutting the dex but adding back pokemon so easily with a patch even if you don't own the expansion pass.

Let's not forget even Let's Go had a physical DLC with Mew. We are now in the era of poor unfinished games that will just get patched up with DLCs at a later date.

And from what I saw the only game they can trade with other than themselves will be Legends Arceus until the update for Pokemon HOME, so they might even do some event where you need to transfer a pokemon from those remakes to Legends Arceus to get some new Pokemon Form or something similar.

There's even less moves than there was back in Gen 4 from what I heard. Also there's nothing really different between the remakes and the originals. No Battle Frontier, Distortion World and many other additions from Platinum. Mandatory EXP Share, following pokemon still act similar to SW/SH and don't even have an animation for walking they mostly just stay in their usual battle stance and slide around for most of them.
