I was playing the first and second game on the Vita few weeks ago, while wishing they release the 3rd game on the switch.

My wish has been granted, insta pre-order for me (for the people that don't know, God Eater is a less tactic, less grindy but more story based Monster Hunterish game)

An alternative to MHG, yes please. I played Generations but it was definitely tough to get back into it after world. Got almost 300 between 3DS and switch but 85% was on 3DS. I hear really good things about this series.

Day one purchase

While I love the series, I won't be buying it a second time. If it was announced for switch earlier I'd get it for switch. So, while good news in general, to me it is little bit disappointing

To quote a certain pegasus, "Aaaawwww YEAH!" The writing did seem to be on the wall with this one (we're talking a MonHun successor that's always debuted and mainly focused on portables before), but I admit I didn't expect it so soon. Easily the news of the day on the Switch front.

May be a good excuse to try and squeeze some Resurrection back into my playtime as well - while it got crowded out for quite a while now (well, monster hunting RPGs are frankly not the top priority subgenre for me - I still prefer questing to frequent boss levels) and I need to brush myself up on most of the weapon controls and bullet recipes, I have but positive memories of what I've played so far. A tangible story and characters, intriguing lore and universe (I spent my first 30 minutes just reading the available in-game encyclopedia entries), Go Shiina's music and Ufotable's cutscenes - more than enough for me to keep leaning towards it instead of Monster Hunter itself.

For anyone else curious, mind that Resurrection is the latest version of the first game on Vita but PS Store only has it bundled with God Eater 2 Rage Burst on the same platform (notably, GE2 isn't cross-buy with PS4 but Resurrection is). Leaving this PSA here because it's not too apparent and I was that close to buying the PSP version myself. 😅

Though the game wasn't that good, at the very least it'll be a good hack and slash time killer for on the go play session. Might check it out once it goes on sale.

Two things-

2: that music was AWFUL

@Captain_Toad From what I have heard it's a more accessable version of monster hunter with an anime paint coat .

I'll see if my bf is interested in this, we do love a good co-op game to play together. I got him into Monster Hunter so he might like this.

Currently playing this on ps4, really good game not the greatest characters though, wish they would allow cross play with switch and ps4 then I could play with my partner online

I hate when companies hide the fact that a game is coming out on a system just to release it after with no foresight. The game came out in February they weren't sure then it was coming out on the Switch? This is some really shady practices knowing fans will double dip.

I’m looking forward to this but the advert is cheesy as. It’s a bit of anime mixed with Nintendo’s happy gaming. Mixed reactions and poor choice of music with reactions/gameplay

This will be be a day one purchase for me, glad I held off on the ps4 version.

Game looks good, actors look ridiculous. They are way too excited to be playing what they're playing. This isn't a Mario Party game.

Was about to say the same thing. Why wasn't it released at the same time as other consoles?

Why does Nintendo allow their platform to be home to sloppy second ports from other platforms and then let them charge full price or more for the late switch version?

This is the reason none of these companies are making games specifically for the hardware. They know they can downscale and flip old games for full price.

Judging by all the positive remarks in these comments on a daily basis, my peers seem to be ok with it. Mediocrity prevails when you don't demand better.

My PS4 version is sealed and shelved. Might get it anyway.
