Limited Run has announced it will be handling the physical release of Game Freak's Giga Wrecker Alt. for the Nintendo Switch. Pre-orders go live on 12th of April (aka. this Friday). Below is the official announcement tweet along with a few extra details:
The 2D action side-scroller first arrived on the Steam platform in 2016 as an Early Access title and was more recently spotted on the Taiwan rating board before being officially confirmed.
As explained in previous posts, you take control of a girl named Reika in a world invaded by an army of evil robots. Reika has the ability to manipulate debris in order to solve puzzles and crush enemies.
The digital version of Alt. will be published by Rising Star Games.
Will you be adding this Game Freak release to your physical collection? Tell us down below.

I know nothing about this game, but there is constantly news about limited physical releases. Its sad that only some special games get physical releases as bonuses. Kinda depressing.
Will pick it up. Sounds interesting
The art is nice and it looks like it could be fun, I might end up getting this if the reviews are mostly positive. I still hope Night in the Woods gets a release soon, I’ve been waiting to play that one since it came out.
I miss the days when a game got released and you could go buy it. Now we have about five different companies doing limited release prints where you get to pay in full and at some point months later, get the game.
I do enjoy action platformers with puzzles and physics, but the whole aesthetic of this game is a little hard on both my eyes and my ears.
So I won't exactly be frothing at the mouth for a physical version until I've had the opportunity to get a little one-on-one time with it.
@BensonUii What happened with The Messenger’s limited print?
@BensonUii
Ones like Strictly Limited Games, Warned Collector's, and probably more I can't think of.
I'm interested in getting Giga Wrecker Alt myself anyway, but I don't have to order it on the 12th. It can wait for whatever other title they might announce for ordering on the last day Giga Wrecker Alt pre-orders are being taken, that's what I did with Bomb Chicken, along with Curse of the Moon and The Messenger.
@RupeeClock I often see your profile pic and mix you up with that other dude with the Snivy pic. Kalmaro is it? Either way, big-up the Snivy massif!
@MayorBigDeal
It was a Snivy I drew with Colors 3D on the 3DS some years ago.

I've never really had much interest in this game. I'm not crazy about the art style and just feel kind of "eh..." about the whole thing.
Give me a Drill Dozer 2 with HD Rumble and I'll be there day one though.
@RupeeClock Colour me impressed.
@BensonUii I don't really see what the problem is.
@BensonUii
I pre-ordered Toejam and Earl at an earlier time, together with Another World on its last day.
I decided to try and get Panpaku from Warned Collectors, it looks decent. They're a french publisher I think, where Strictly Limited Games is German, and Super Rare is British.
@BensonUii It's a hassle, but many times it's the only way smaller developers can get physical copies made of their game. Just gotta take the bad with the good.
I’d imagine GAME FREAK could afford to publish their own games... I mean, they do develop/partially own Pokémon.
@RupeeClock @BensonUii there's also Signature Edition games. Got Dead Cells and Aragami from them and may get Vaporum don't know yet.
@BensonUii while i do think its pretty crazy with how many companies are doing these limited releases, i only really buy from 2, Limited Run and EastAsiaSoft. (Technically i buy from Special Reserve Games but they partner with Limited Run so its all the same to me really). I specifically buy from them because im in the U.S.A. and im kinda ocd about my Switch collection. Not a fan of how the Pal version side labels have the text in the dead middle. I also don’t really import so i guess theres that lol. (Also before anybody else tells me, i know buying EasAsiaSoft games are technically imports, but they make their games with american audiences in mind so the spine matches NTSC copies.)
@MaSSiVeRiCaN i believe signature games is just Merge Games over here in the states. We just get standard versions of the releases.
@MaSSiVeRiCaN
Signature Edition Games technically do not count, they are part of indie publisher Merge Games, who do smaller batches of indie games physically, but are not one-time runs exclusive to their store.
Only the so called "Signature Editions" are exclusive to their store, whilst their standard editions can be found in places like Amazon.
@Pablo17 and then it ends up at bestbuy later without a shipping cost
